I still don't fully understand why they can't just use Cosmo and Wanda. Why does it HAVE to be Timmy? Why is it Timmy or bust?
Like, think about it, where are Timmy's attacks going to be coming from? He'll basically be a proxy for Cosmo and Wanda anyway. Same if they went with Hazel instead.
And it seems like the Oddparents themselves lack the legal issues that are plaguing seemingly just Timmy and Timmy alone, because all the revivals lately are putting them with new kids, so... again... can they not just make the Fairies the playable characters?

Also hell yeah, Beaver Bros stay winning.

I think they're just afraid of the massive fan backlash they could get if they added an FOP rep that isn't Timmy. Timmy is a massively fan demanded character, as he is the last of the Big Four who hasn't been added yet (as Jenny and Rocko were made DLC for the first game and Jimmy was added in the second) and some people just want to have the Nicktoons Unite 4 (SpongeBob, Jimmy, Timmy, and Danny) all back together in a game for the first time since Attack of the Toybots.

Timmy is a massively fan demanded character, as he is the last of the Big Four who hasn't been added yet (as Jenny and Rocko were made DLC for the first game and Jimmy was added in the second) and some people just want to have the Nicktoons Unite 4 (SpongeBob, Jimmy, Timmy, and Danny) all back together in a game for the first time since Attack of the Toybots.

I told you guys something like this would happen in regards to completionism pre-NASB1 launch.

Another set of comments implies certain characters were planned but dropped, though the info is more tenuous. He's going to make a follow-up video.

It doesn't necessarily confirm PTM wasn't considered, (hell, the Timmy Turner thing from eariler does allude to cut characters, as well as a few other comments) but this comment being liked - alongside something said about Korra in the video - do essentially confirm that there was no work put into playable characters who didn't make it in

I think at this point people will take any FOP representation at all.

Not me, I want Timmy reunited with Jimmy and the other OG Nicktoons not Cosmo and Wanda awkwardly tossed in without their god-kid. There's a reason the show is about them as a trio and not one over the other.

Now, allow me to ask a less obvious question: Can Nick scoop up the rights to Pelswick on the cheap now?

I'm defintely not a pro in that type of stuff, but I doubt the rights to the show would go automatically to Nickelodeon/Paramount, unless there was an agreement that say so in the first place. Usually when a company shut down, the assets are sold through auctions. I'm not sure what happened if nobody is interested to buy the assets tho.

Absolutely, either that or the original creators (sans John K. situations ofc) - Nelvana is the perfect case study for this really, since their back catalog is primarily very obscure, and includes a lot of stuff that swapped hands to rights holders who don't care and hasn't been seen since (Eek! the Cat and the Star Wars Holiday Special are both notorious for their poor modern preservation in the Disney vault)

While I like its use as both an item and a move, the Suck-O-Matic would be a bad-ass playable character, like a character themed entirely on inverse wind-boxes, perhaps some kind of anti-zoner that can eat projectiles. If slime returns maybe it could have slime vampirism. Plus it's probably the only somewhat intimidating villain in the entire show (Oh try as you might, Peaches... try as you might) and one of the most well-known episodes. Generally, "unthinking machine" type characters are just really fun to control.

Alright. I just... made a bunch of lists. More importantly, I turned those lists into images. Deciding everything I would want to be in a third Nick Brawl game. Characters, stages, npcs, everything. The only things I didn't pick out were the fodder enemy characters in the campaign mode. Would like to hear people's opinions.

Also, this doesn't fit in anywhere else, but while I'd love to keep on Ludocity and Fair Play Labs as developers, Game Mill has got to go. Give it to someone who'd be willing to spend more money on it to make it truly grand.

Aaanyway, that Jimmy Neutron robot thing is a cute idea, and NPC roles for LA characters is cute if somewhat unfeasible. Overall I think the roster is lacking the weird, contrarian spark of the real NASBs though, and I dislike the idea of Unite being heavily repped in NASB as anything other than just another single IP to draw from. Aaand uhh, yeah... anti-90s bias, one of my biggest NASB pet peeves, even if it isn't a moral issue like Tak.

Setting aside the idea that Tak is somehow a moral issue, I don't really get what you mean. There are plenty of 90s shows on my lineup, in fact I have every single 90s Nicktoon on the roster except Doug and KaBlam. And I don't really know what you mean by "that weird contrarian spark". Like, it can not be said I don't have any weird/joke characters (Cynthia, Membrane, and Nigel is still there).

Also the "Jimmy Neutron Robot Thing" is Professor Calamitous. That's his mech suit he uses when he actually fights.

My knowledge on the series is extremely limited. That being an afternoon watching a friend play it as a child and the recent Nitro Rad video so you might have to fill me in on further details. I can see why the base design alone would garner that reaction, but could the character not be redesigned?

For the 2013 Killer Instinct for example, when reimagining/reintroducing Thunder to the game. the devs actually brought on members of the Nez Perce tribe to consult on his design and background.

Tak. as is. seems to be a mishmash of several different things and while from a fictional tribe in a fictional setting, could still be given a more concrete basis to try and create a more acceptable redesign.

Or just like... the generic ancient temple stuff in Legends of the Hidden Temple or that friggin Reptar stage that's already in Brawl 2.

I remember for the longest time, ZIM and TAK's named were always spelled with all caps, both in official stuff, closed captions, and by the fandom. This is a habit I still keep up as I was heavy into IZ fandom back in the mid 2000s, so spelling it as "Zim" and "Tak" or even "Gir" just looks wrong to me. It's pretty inconsistent now but I remember it being pretty solidly used back in the day.
So maybe the way to separate IZ TAK from the other Tak is spelling the IZ character's name in all caps? At least that's how I did it back in the RTC thread when both characters shared a rating day. Might be a little pedantic but it's something I guess?
