Definitely not a fan of Hey Arnold going back to only a single character, especially when it seems like it's the only series to have fewer characters in the transition from 2 to 3.
Agree, at last bring back Grandma Gertie who is a better joke fighter than Banana Guard in MultiVersus

so spelling it as "Zim" and "Tak" or even "Gir" just looks wrong to me.
At least GIR has a reason to be spelled in all caps: It's an acronym for "G Information Retrieval".

Meanwhile Irkens' names are only capitalized arbitrarily.

I hate arbitrary capitalisation (and other weird trademark-protection things like that, like every pokemon having a sheep plural), so yeah, I'm gonna go with Zim and GIR. Maybe Invader Tak for the other Tak, but we really shouldn't have to distinguish. Nobody talks about Bosko in MultiVersus, we can leave this relic-for-a-good-reason behind too.

They’re a corporation. They get no sympathy from me.

The phrases “Nelvana is going out of business” and “X person who worked at Nelvana lost their job” hit very differently.
Well, the prior implies the latter - Nelvana sucks, yes, but it going out of business is not a good thing - even putting aside job loss, it's gonna just result in all the content being sold off to other large companies (likely WildBrain/DHX) and either the animation industry becoming even more monopolized, a bunch of works getting lost in the mega-sale shuffle, or both. This would be true of even Disney really. It's very rare an original creator re-obtains the rights to works they sold to corporations or any other favourable outcome.

Accept these are just international distribution rights. Nickelodeon still owns the friggin ip. You own a thing and you gave someone else the ability to sell it overseas. If they go out of business, why would you not get that back?

I'm not talking about FOP... I posted it because of FOP, but the discussion pretty quickly skewed somewhere else.

The finale leaves it a little vague as to where Peri ends up. And it would be weird to have Cosmo and Wanda with two characters.
I’m still gonna say they should just cut the middleman and make Cosmo and Wanda playable, godchild free.
They’re the main draw of the franchise, are the only real constant between versions, don’t seem to have the myriad of weird legal issues Timmy does, and all the attacks would have been coming from them anyway.

Timmy, actually. Tommy is from Rugrats.

You could make a really cool fighter in its own right out of all the parody superheroes. PTM, Big Man, Reptar, Ace Savvy, Invincibubble - the fact there's a decent chunk of non-parody superheroes in the Nick library is icing on top

Been reminiscing old/fake NASB leaks and man, if there is one thing that got me hooked into reveal to release of NASB 1 and 2 it was the speculation and wild leaks that were happening. I remember this fake camp coral spongebob leak that was spreading from the point that the leaker who leaked screenshots of Danny Phantom in NASB 2 had to make a post explaining why the camp coral spongebob leak was fake. Moments like this make me love looking back at NASB so much because it was the wild west of people trying to throw a twist on what was real or fake. I remember being there and thinking "oh man I just know we are gonna get Rocksteady for NASB 1 because of the datamines" only for it to not happen in NASB 1 but happen in NASB 2 XD. Or when a user was contacted by an anonymous person who leaked models of NASB 1 characters and Garfield before NASB 1 was released and in the post they said "Aang and Korra might not happen due to licensing issues" which to this day interests me because we did get Avatar characters in NASB 1 and 2, the fact that at one point we might not have gotten them due to licensing issues would've sucked. idk if people feel the same way I do but I really love moments like this so much, this was the closest I have gotten to Smash speculation back in the Ultimate days :D

This is why NASB2 entire roster leaking so early sucked. We didn't get nearly that same experience.

It was interesting to look back on that leak. The leaks that were cryptic or were still a mystery to so many people in the community were fun to speculate but the NASB 2 roster leaking early because (I think) Amazon website is what made speculation disappointing to a lot of people when it happened (even myself). But looking back on it there were people who were still speculating that "maybe the website didn't leak everyone" and they tried to put in the pieces that the empty spaces are where the other returning characters were at. Even when we still know the roster and the leak that happened, I still commend the people who were speculating and making theories on the leak despite it already revealing the entire roster. Plus the reason as to why I love Smash and NASB speculation so much is to look back at it. It's like history being made and the moments being there and feeling like a community trying to grab as much insane info as possible and I like that. I really wish I could join in back in 2021 and 2023 but I was too much of a chicken to join speculation with this board until NASB 2 ended and I wanted to bring my thoughts out because of the memories.

Let's pretend the first NASB never existed. Now what do y'all think of NASB 2's roster? Hey Arnold and TMNT's representation still looks weird and having Iroh and Azula instead of Sokka, Katara and Toph is werid, but the roster is OK overall since it has a lot of essential Nicktoons.

Why is all NASB discussion like this? People treat NASB2 like a roster checklist and NASB1 like it's some kind of tumor that needs be killed to 'protect' NASB2, and not just as... two pretty cool games that you can play.

I don't get this question, it's the same roster, the first game existing have nothing to do with how I feel about it.

Man, you gotta realize that people like discussing hypothetical rosters. It's an interesting topic. The function over form ideology you have is the minority.

As for NASB1, you should also understand that a lot of people were really burned by that game. It didn't end up being what they wanted and the lack of so much basic polish on launch absolutely had a negative impact on people's perception of the series. You only get one first impression, and with that foot forward being so rushed, it absolutely had an effect on the sales and perception of 2. Lots of people weren't willing to trust the devs again, even if it wasn't their fault.

The community just set their expectations way too high when it was clear that the developers were never gonna deliver.

This is Nickelodeon we're talking about. They don't always make the best choices. We should have expected illogical cuts and questionable newcomers.
