I really hate how those Warriors games have rotten Nintendo fan's brains. Not only they, not a good repastion on what that character can actually do in their home games. But I just fell so lazy to go "do thing but in Smash"
There's a Dream Smasher article about Azura that doesn't rely on her Warriors moveset. Granted, it was written before FE Warriors was a thing, but my point still stands.

But I wanna go "Siiiiing with meeeee a song, of conquest and fate. The black pillar cracks, beneath its weeeeeeight!"

extreme closeup "It's over." beeg sploosh

But like, in Smash.

No but I can see why she could appeal to people in a way that Corrin doesn't. The whole songstress angle is pretty interesting, especially if that means what I think it means from a mechanical standpoint. I don't really agree that she should have been added instead of Corrin though.

I Missed the Discussion on Square Costumes

But While I get why the Square Costumes might be Exclusive, It isn't confirmed they can't come whenever though,

-In Smash 4, They (Geno and Chocobo) were revealed in Same Presentation as Other Costumes, however They came out the same day as the Presentation along with Cloud, while every Other wave was pushed to be with Bayonetta and Corrin

-In Ultimate, We only Got Dragon Quest Content with Hero, Geno and Chocobo Still Missing though

If for say the Other Costumes in Smash 4 released the same day as Geno and Chocobo, but were all in Seperate Waves, then I'd believe it more, but Honestly, While I could see the Argument, Especially since in both these cases Square had the least amount of costumes per wave (2 in Smash 4, and 4 in Ultimate) I don't think the Square costumes have to be Exclusive from everything

I do think they could serve as an example of what some characters could do in Smash, but not the whole basis of it.

I'd like to see Tetra using her flintlock pistols in Ultimate, but in that instance they don't need to be magic water pistols lol.

I misread that as Wario at first glance and it took a moment to realize what was going on.

But yeah blame Wario

No wait! I've got a better idea. Add Shadow Dragon characters (but not New Mystery of the Emblem because that's Japan exclusive) and also Lyn, buuut, make Lyn an extra mode only character, and make the game's story about two twins with lemon colored hair who get betrayed by that one guy who wasn't important until then and have to team up with all of the other Fire Emblem characters to kill a dragon.

While I do agree on both counts - it's worth noting that the aerials look uniform amongst the FE cast from a purely casual standpoint. This is not the case obviously: the N-Air across the cast has different uses due to which angles they hit, spacing requirements etc. However: Corrin's N-air looks kinda similar to Ike's at first glance, Byleth's B-Air look somewhat like Ike's / Robin's etc. That feeds into to the "anime swordsman" issue really.

I do think Corrin would've been well-served (this counts for the next FE character too) if (s)he had (has in the future FE character's case) more non-standard aerials, Corrin's B-Air is a step in the right direction TBF (due to it serving a different purpose than most FE B-Airs), so something like that to start with perhaps?

Hyrule Warios: Age of :4wario2: -amity

Hyrule really wasn't ready for Wario and Waluigi's invasion.

I actually meant to mention the other games in my initial posy, but my brain defaulted to "and barely anything from them", so I fixed my post.

"List of characters with swords in FEW"
13 out of 32. 10 out of 23 if DLC is not included.
"List of main characters that use Swords"
15 out of 18, 16 out of 19 if Elincia is included, 18 out of 21 if FEW's protags are also included.
looks at number of characters in non-DLC list
23

So we either get 18 sword users in a cast of 23 characters at launch if we do all FE games and must have their main characters or we limit list of games to include non-sword users so that swords don't take up 75% of the roster.

All this talk about Fire Emblem Wario has got me thinking about a Mushroom Kingdom Warriors game. I'm not too familiar with musou games - what would that even look like?

I thought you were referring to the fact that all of the stages were very loose references to actual Fire Emblem locations if they were references at all.

It's not that they didn't include everyone, it's that they didn't include all of the major ones. Instead of 6 Shadow Dragon, 9 Awakening, and 12 Fates characters along with Lyn, Celica, Anna, and the lemon twins, there should have been a few more Blazing Blade characters (at least Hector and Eliwood), and a few Telius characters to cover all of the biggest bases.

the two generic stages are based off of locations that appear in almost every Fire Emblem game but no one specific game like Arena Ferox and or Garreg Mach. There’s always a Castle Siege, always a battle in the throne room, always a fight in a dungeon, and there’s always a coliseum. In nearly every FE game.

  1. Mario
  2. Luigi
  3. Peach
  4. Yoshi
  5. Daisy
  6. Captain Toad
  7. Toadette
  8. Rosalina
  9. Pauline
  10. Wario
  11. Waluigi
  12. Bowser
  13. Bowser Jr.
  14. Larry
  15. Lemmy
  16. Iggy
  17. Morton
  18. Roy
  19. Wendy
  20. Ludwig
The Mario Bros., Peach & Daisy, the Toads, and a few of the Koopalings might be sharing movesets here, and one or two of them might get the axe for Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong (give or take a few less prominent characters like Birdo). The levels themselves would probably play around with versatility a lot more than normal, and perhaps even ask you to do some light platforming.

Even given the likely pretty bog-standard cast, I think a game like this could be pretty fun, and it'd probably breathe new life into a lot of these characters. There'd be a fresh take on the map design as well, and so long as not every map was based on a New Super Mario Bros. World, they could look pretty unique and interesting as well.

Also I know all of the Koopalings's names by heart. Send help.

Good morning.

I'm curious. Did it take an average of 100 days between each character getting announced? I'll be setting up a countdown should that happen.

The longest waiting period was 101 days, so no, the average is much lower than that.

I mean Hero and Banjo were revealed together so that alone kinda tanks the average.

Ah, that someone who works for Capcom, if that happened and they did that, they are sure in trouble!
Apparently, it's a group called "Ragnar Locker" or something (I'm not the only one who thinks that name's stupid, am I?). I wonder what that group's track record is, and why they picked Capcom specifically...

Depends on how they handle it.

I think the best way to go about it would be something like "Koopa Kingdom Warriors", where you play as Bowser and his army conquering and taking over a bunch of kingdoms.

OK so I did the math:
CharacterDate RevealedElapsed Days
Piranha PlantNovember 1, 2018N/A
JokerDecember 6, 201835
HeroJune 11, 2019187
Banjo & KazooieJune 11, 20190
TerrySeptember 4, 201985
BylethJanuary 16, 2020134
Min MinJune 22, 2020158
SteveOctober 1, 2020101

The average of elapsed days between all reveal dates since Piranha Plant is exactly 100 days.
The average of elapsed days between all different reveal dates is 116.67 days.
The average of elapsed days between all Fighters Pass 1 reveal dates is 101.5 days.
The average of elapsed days between all different Fighters Pass 1 reveal dates is 135.33 days.
The average of elapsed days between all different Fighters Pass 2 reveal dates is 101 days.

The last one isn't really all that helpful since there were only two fighters revealed, but eh. Since all of these averages are 100+ days, it's reasonable to expect that the character won't be revealed until after January 9th, 2021, although since 3/7 of the elapsed days did not reach 100, it's also reasonably possible for it to be sooner. So what did we learn?

NOTHING!!

The Nintendo series that are best suited towards Musou gameplay are Xenoblade and Kid Icarus, You could potentially make Kirby work but they would never do that in a million years.
I could see Pokémon working considering that there's a huge cast of creatures and all have different abilities. The only "issue" would be to create a story to justify why Pokémon are fighting each other with no order from trainer and why they're fighting inthe first place.

Its been a while...

Anyone else staring to care less and less about the DLC? After Steve, I've been in this sort of dazed state over Smash speculation. I'm currently taking a long break from Smashfaqs as its just talking about the same things over and over again. Maybe I won't be feeling this way in the coming months but...eh.

Until any kind of news breaks, the speculation cycle tends to get repetitive in-between later reveals.

Honestly I've just come to treat this place as general game discussion thread rather than outright speculation. I've grown less invested in speculation, and now I'm just laying back and acting casual. If there's something that piques my interest, I'll jump in and capitalize on the opportunity. If not, I'll just sit back and wait. Occasionally, I'll throw out a big write-up here and there, regardless of actual chances.
