I have everything I want in the DLC except Waluigi.

I'm pretty good myself, especially after Simon(+Richter), King K. Rool, Robin, Palutena, Banjo & Kazooie and Eight as an Alt. Any other ones I want getting would be extra icing on the cake, like Nightmare/Siegfried, Chosen Undead, Yuri Lowell, Lyndis, Monster Hunter, Neku Sakuraba, Professor Layton, Saber, etc.

My desires seem to change a fair bit. During the pre-release speculation, all I cared about was Bandana Dee and Shadow. The following year, my interests expanded greatly, and I added a lot of other characters to the list, most notably Klonoa. Bandana Dee stayed as my most-wanted for a while until my Touhou craze kicked in, in which he was succeeded by Reimu.
Currently, I think I want Adol the most. Ys just clicks with me really well.

So far, Byleth and Steve are the only characters I really wanted, and I wasn't actively rooting for them, either. Getting someone I really want would be nice.

My most wanted character is extremely unlikely, so I take what I can get. You do what you wanna do, I do what I wanna do.

Don’t they eventually get permanently added to the rotation though?

speaking of which when was the last permanent addition?

They do get permanently added, but the promotional pop up notice announcing "Hey, X series is now here as Spirits!" appears only on a specific weekend (RE as an example) and after that, the Spirits are amongst 1000+ Spirits in the game. And most people don't care that much about Spirits (see the ".png" nickname they've gotten).

As for where I stand with the game: I'm pretty content with the roster. There is a lot of characters with jank and other issues to their gameplay, but that's far from a deal-breaking gripe.

As for characters I'd love to see:

MOBA representative. Not picky within this genre.
Master Chief
KOS MOS
Winston / Tracer
Arle
Style Savvy / Ring Fit

And so on. There are very few characters I'd dislike and a lot I'd welcome,

Dixie is my only "must-have" character left, although there are plenty of "would be extremely extremely happy if they got in" characters left as well like Sora, Lara Croft, Krystal, Phoenix Wright, Chun-Li, Impa, etc.

I'd also like to see Ryu Hayabusa, Toad/Captain Toad, Doom Slayer, Master Chief, Zero, and Crash Bandicoot make it

I would think Dante, Scorpion, Sora, and Sephiroth would be Really Cool, Even if I don't want them as Much as Shadow. Sora Is Not Happening I don't think, but I think Dante, Scorpion, and Sephiroth have chances, but I think Dante might end up being a Mii in the end.

It's weird man, for the longest time, I was simply content with Ultimate's newcomers. No one I really specifically wanted (I mean I kinda wanted Incineroar, but he was really only my radar after verg leaked him.), but great additions nonetheless, and I was pretty happy with the roster as is.

Flash forward to this year however, and all of a sudden, characters I distinctly wanted are getting in left and right and it's gotten weirdly personal to me. Sure, someone like Byleth was pretty much expected, but then you got stuff like Min Min, a character who wasn't even the mascot of her own game. And Steve was essentially my Banjo, a character whose game I had fond memories with, so seeing him make the big league after all this time felt surreal.

But yeah, I'm absolutely satisfied rn. I'm probably gonna be on cruise control for the rest of speculation and really just appreciate the final four characters (man we still got four to go) as they are without the dread of one of "what could've been". There's definitely still characters I want, but they'd just be icing on the cake at this point.

Min Min is the only character added in Smash Ultimate that I genuinely wanted out of pure love of the character.
Others like King K Rool, Joker and Simon Belmont were just because I thought they'd be cool, but I feel connected to Min Min like no other character in the game (unless Professor Layton gets in, which we know deep down is not going to happen )

Are there even custom modded characters on Wii U? Only Brawl/PM has the set of new moveset character IIRC.

(I mean the real answer why Estelle isn't there is because the leak didn't mention her and PapaGenos probably hasn't played the games but still)

Yeah, but that has a similar issue with how long its been since the leak like Cacomallow. My personal opinion is that if Cacomallow taking too long means its absolutely fake, the LoL rep leak isn't doing much better.

Actually Wouldn't Hollow Knight be the Premium Costume of a League Character if a League character was in. Hollow Knight and League kind of got Some of that Similar vibe going on

I don't really understand this train of thought. I'm not saying you're wrong, but from my perspective, if the characters are more enticing to you than the gameplay, and the ~80 characters already in the game don't make the game worth it to you, it's pretty unlikely that a specific character would make the game worth it, especially since there's no guarantee that you'll like playing as them.

Again, not saying you're wrong, it's not an objective thing, I just don't personally understand.

That's debatable tbqh, Rex's mi costume was probably decided on long before vol 2 was even conceived.

Now that vol 2 is officially a go, I'm feeling he's still on the table, regardless of his current status.

I got Inkling, Ridley, Dark Samus, King K. Rool and Isabelle in the base roster, so I'm pretty happy even if none of the DLC characters are who I wanted.

I did want an ARMS character and Steve though, so the second pass is off to a good start.

You can use Min-Min as an example, but that doesn't quite convince me Nintendo sees reason in promoting XC2. Though then again, promoting ARMS after Nintendo neglected its existence is pretty funny.

It's pretty straightforward. You're not going to touch a thing if the thing you want isn't in it. Like say hypothetically you like butter pecan ice cream but you don't like the butter pecan ice cream that has the trunks of pecan in it. If someone gave you some ice cream that had the chunks of pecan in it you most likely wouldn't bother eating the ice cream at all

So do you believe Rex would be favored compared to anyone else on the Nintendo's menu? Over the shiny new Pokemon? And that goes for like, y'know, the third parties and all as well on top of that.

yes, but that's a very big if considering they've gone on record to say that it's not worth the effort of porting over.
