Quick question: supposedly, there is a new ad for 7-11 since Monday, but I don't know if anyone has gotten a picture of it. Did someone see it, and if so what was featured in it? If not, then where we can look for it?
Hol up what???
Partner Showcase today, maybe?

There was a problem fetching the tweet
LET’S-A ****ING GOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Since there was discussion about Falcom a bit earlier I wanna take the opportunity to present this video for those who are interested in the history of a really old company that defined the ARPG genre and pushed for developing PC games in Japan. I hope it gives a new perspective for people in why this company could be chosen for Smash.

I started watching this the other day and recently finished. It's a great documentary of the company and helps a lot to learn more about them and their history. While maybe not incredibly popular, they have definitely carved their own legacy. I personally believe they could totally be chosen to be part of Smash, if that will happen I don't know, but I'm pretty sure that if a character from them ends getting in Sakurai will be ready to educate people again as he did with SNK. I have that feeling lol

Also the music selection for the video was really on point.

I have to admit, it's kinda strange to see people pivoting back to "Having a strong legacy and connection with Nintendo is a major boon for potential third parties" after months of "Nintendo connections don't matter because Snake, Cloud, and Joker got in the game".

Granted, it's largely two different sets of users making each argument, but still.

I'm not even a Ninja Gaiden fan at all, but even I know that saying Ryu is a nobody is quite silly. Ninja Gaiden is a series that always enters the discussion when talking about NES classics: It's influenced a ton of stuff and is extremely iconic of that era.

I was an Atelier supporter, but with it being seemingly deconfirmed recently, I personally think Ryu's got a potential Koei Tecmo slot in the bag.

To be fair, Strong Nintendo Connections help out certain characters, but is never a true requirement. It just depends on how easy it would be to get a character into Smash. Like, SNK never had that many ties to Nintendo, but they were incredibly easy to work with so it balances things out.

I think they're both equally important factors that can benefit each specific character depending on who they are and why they were chosen. It's a nuanced deal: Nintendo connections and history is always a plus, but never outright "required" if Nintendo feels the character is a good fit for the game.

I personally don't believe that Ryu has a sizable leg up on Dynasty Warriors. A character from that series could easily be chosen as well, especially since it helps promote new titles, Nintendo, and otherwise. There's also Dead or Alive, and while I'm not sure they'd pick it since it seems to be more infamous as "the one with bewbs" than anything else, it is still an option. I don't think they're so much more likely than Ryu that Ryu's chances are negligable, but I do think they are at least at par with him enough to compete.

My part in the argument before was because Ninja Gaiden definitely does have that strong legacy, and people completely denying it doesn't sit well with me.

Given that they're willing to have finally have Cloud gaming for Switch titles outside Japan, it makes me wonder... will we be getting Resident Evil 7 for Switch too?

I've been thinking about making a When-We-Can-Say-Smash-Reveal-When checklist, and with the Crown Tundra being released and this partner showcase posted, we are now down to at least four more things:
  • Pikmin 3 Deluxe release
  • Christmas/Winter update for New Horizons
  • Release of Age of Calamity
  • Placeholder for shadowdropped announcement
Can anyone think of any more things we need to get through before the begging can commence?

Oh hey Hitman!

...lmao still no Bayo 3 😭
To be fair, Bayonetta 3 is being published by Nintendo, so it wouldn't make sense for it to appear in a Direct dedicated to third party published titles (before anyone says Hyrule Warriors, it's being published by Koei Tecmo in Japan).

Ok so some friends of mine are fans of Sword and Shield and one ended up showing me this

I can't *ing believe that Sword and Shield significantly outclasses Smash in the area of character interactions holy *.
This is a nitpick if I ever saw one

“Why dose the fighting game dosn't have dialogue, compare to the story driven RPG (that is DLC)“

This isn’t really a high bar ya know

Seriously that No More Heroes 3 trailer is the best thing I've ever seen. Gameplay looks cool.

Looks like NMH1+2 are only digital then. I'll finally be able to play those 2 games lol

Edit: I don't get why Rune Factory 5 didn't appeared in the western direct, I mean, it was featured 1 or 2 directs ago here if I'm not mistaken

Doom Eternal news are still MIA. New Pokémon Snap and Bayo 3 also received delays, but were nowhere to be seen.
