Eh...everything I like about Konami was on Nintendo systems long before Sony was a thing. Metal Gear. Contra. Castlevania. Goemon. Bomberman.
I agree, i associate Konami far more with Nintendo than Sony aside of Metal Gear. and if im honest i fear what Sony will do with Konami's properties.
I HATE the types of games they usually do (on-the-shoulder perspective, too cinematic, overly realistic artstyle, etc) I rather have a franchise be dormant or even dead before beign turned into a corpse.
Sorry, a little off-topic.
You know that's not enough right? Don't get me wrong, SoR4 is great. But that's like saying "Capcom made Mega Man 11, they're doing great now!" One small release like that is not enough for a company that size.
My problem with recent Sega releases is that they skew heavily towards Japanese-centric franchises. I know this sounds dumb like "DUH OF COURSE THE WILL CARE ABOUT THOSE, THEY ARE JAPANESE", but nowadays they are igonring a lot of the franchises that debuted on the Genesis (A.K.A the system that made them famous internationally) that are more popular over here in the west, Streets of Rage 4 aside.
Only Yakuza has risen enough to the mainstream, but everything else is damn niche here in comparison (sorry Puyo fans) and appeals to mostly japanese outside of Alex Kidd and maybe Space Channel 5 (which is more of a cult game anyway).
Sakura Wars, Vocaloid games, and the like are great, but those aren't the games i know Sega for. Ristar, Vectorman, Shinobi and the like are what i know Sega for. Im not gonna lie im dead biased towards the Genesis here, so i know my game revival ideas are predictable.
Though seeing how Wonder Boy the Dragon's Trap and Streets of Rage 4 have turned out, maybe we can have a little reliable developer focusing on reviving old school Sega Franchises.
