oh wow, and out of nowhere we got two solid leads on speculation in no less than a day

glad to see everything picking back up again after a month of the only conversation topics being the funny leaker men and the nonexistent direct
"No comment" neither confirms nor deconfirms a character. Let's just wait and temper our expectations.
it's not the "no comment" on its own that's weird

it's that suda has always been very open and honest about travis in smash, either outright denying it or trying to drum up support. to see him suddenly give a generic corporate answer is pretty sus
One thing's for sure.

The minute that they start showing off Mii Costume's

Everyone's ass is going to be clenched as tight as possible.
actually? not mine

i mean, really think about it. the miis this time around have been doing a way better job at simply being pleasant surprises instead of big deconfirmations. the only really big soul-crushing one we've gotten so far is heihachi, who was a holdover from smash 4 anyway. the new miis have all been bangers without crushing tons of people's hopes so if anything i'm excited

****ed up how a convenience store famous for frozen, sugary drinks and sticky floors is the savior we needed.

Hey see, they even brought drinks to quench our thirst.

Just... don't ask why the floors are sticky.
Since it's Japanese 7-Eleven we're talking about, you're getting more than Slurpees and don't have to ask about any sticky floors.

Imagine if we got both the Lloyd and Geno Mii costumes back. I would love to see the dumpster fire this entire site would turn into if that happened.

Thinking 50/50 for 1st 3rd party at this point. Heavily doubt we will recieve a Pokemon fighter for dlc, but if we do, pretty sure it will be Cinderace. Thinking this month is now a bust for Smash news. Sure we will get a reveal before 2021 though.

If we get a MH fighter, 99.9% sure it will be a hunter and not a palico. We didn't get Jack Frost as our SMT rep and we didn't get Slime as our DQ rep, and I am quite sure Palico will not be our MH rep. Capcom has way too many good series to put foward for a rep though, so who knows what we will get.

Current CP7 prediction: Crash

I mean if Heihachi’s costume returned, those two are a foregone conclusion at this point
that isn't a 100% lock, but it is more then possible that both of them we could return.

You're right, Suda saying he has no comment is pretty sus, which can only mean one thing...
Suda is an imposter. :4pacman:

I am certain it was him that I saw vent...

Honestly, even if Gen 8 was part of this pass, I could easily see them not even referencing any of the DLC. There's nothing from 3H's DLC despite the fact that they promoted it immediately after Byleth was revealed. The ARMS characters added after the base game didn't even appear in the trailer or Spirit Board. As far as I'm aware, MK8 is the only instance where a notable amount of DLC content was referenced, and you could easily argue that none of it counts because it was available on MK8D at launch.

I could be wrong, but I don't feel like "Urshifu + stage based off of Isle of Armor + Spirit Board filled with Pokémon exclusive to DLC" is anywhere near as likely as stuff that focuses on the main game.

... and I actively want Octoling. Who’s from Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion.

This doesn’t bode well for me does it sweats

Phoenix Wright and Dante are Capcom's other two frontrunners. Both are highly likely. I think MH has taken the lead with its new releases that'll be coming out, but Phoenix and Dante are still great picks

... not really?

As someone who thinks one of the DLC characters will be a promoted Mii Costumes, I acknowledge that not every Mii Costume will become playable even if that happens. Still, just because one costume returned doesn't mean the all the others will return as well.

People talk about how a SWSH rep would be an exellent promotional oppertunity, but a PMD rep would be better. Which really needs the promotion:

  • The fifth best selling Switch game and the best selling Pokemon generation this millenia
  • A spinoff series that is immensely high quality, but hasn't sold well (by Pokemon standards) for awhile.

With the release of Hades on Switch and it becoming the most downloaded eshop game, I've decided to make a hypothetical spirit event for Supergiant games. They're really are my favorite developers and I can't recommended their games enough!

Sadly these points either don't matter or work against it. The DLC was chosen before the game came out, so sales don't affect anything, which means that it was still something that they wouldn't anticipate selling very well, which means that Nintendo would have to want to take a chance here, which is pretty unlikely.

Isn't everyone happy?

We did it. We reached CP7.

It was an interesting journey, but we survived.

Basically confirmed is not the same as actually confirmed.
Okay, but it has a solid chance, right?

For example, I basically have school tommorow.

Unless extraterrestrial intelligent life invades the Earth tommorow, school is happening for me tommorow.

What is wrong with jumping the gun? CP7 is basically confirmed to be coming soon.
Perhaps because we don't know when the character is going to be revealed, when the character is going to be released, or who the character even is.

Don't start passing out the champagne before the party has even begun.

And we know that FP8 is going to follow FP7, but we shouldn't start celebrating about it now.

Ummmmm...did I miss something? Why’s everyone suddenly so confident in this week or next week? (In other words, I don’t have time to read through the previous 5 pages, quick answer would be nice.)

It is.

But we still gotta survive up to 2 weeks.
Let's...Wait for them to announce to officially announce the Sakurai presentation first.
And we know that FP8 is going to follow FP7, but we shouldn't start celebrating about it now.
I mean unless we somehow die, then FP7 is finally confirmed to be soon, and we can play these characters.

I think I might have gone a bit too far, but I can feel we are close to victory.

There was a new 7-11 ad that is about Smash brothers that expires on the 4th. Pretty much every time that has happened something came from it.
