We already have the words 'God' 'Heaven' 'Hell' 'Holy' 'Angel' and 'Demon' with Grand Cross being very blatant Christian imagery. This isn't the 80's anymore, they can get away with it, as for your Saber example, the series hasn't had official porn in well over a decade, not to mention Nintendo promoted Bayonetta 2 by hiring porn stars to cosplay as Bayonetta in Playboy iircView attachment 279747
[RECORD SCRATCH] Freeze frame.
Yup, that's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up as a spirit in Smash; well, it's a long story. It all started when this game called SMT 5 was announced for the Switch back in 2017.
All jokes aside, do you think the fact that SMT games usually have the fighting/killing of religious gods, including [Record Scratch] may hold back Nintendo from adding it to Smash? Nintendo usually tries to keep religion in their games to a minimum, and SMT is pretty heavy handed with that stuff. And not like Persona either, because I think there's a big difference between the two even.
So basically like a Saber situation where the content of their origin games might make Nintendo averse to adding it to Smash? The character wouldn't bring that stuff to Smash, but some people are bound to throw a fit saying how it's "offensive".
Now I personally think that characters like Saber and a SMT rep are on the table, because their franchises span way further than just those things/games. But I know others may not feel the same way.
Considering thatView attachment 279747

He wins by telling opponents useless **** all the time and annoying them so much that they quit.I’ve always wanted to play as a Rotomdex!
Well that makes it pretty clear. Saber and Demi-fiend are clearly hard locks at this point. We already have the words 'God' 'Heaven' 'Hell' 'Holy' 'Angel' and 'Demon' with Grand Cross being very blatant Christian imagery. I actuallyConsidering that
I think we're okay.a high point in the story ends with Joker literally summoning Satan and shooting God in the head
thats a big ass oofDevelopments hell.
Worst than Duke Nukem 3D level of developement hell, to the point of having a full story rewrite, engine recoded and gameplay changed.
1982 - pass.here is little fun thing
these are the year origin of characters we dont have in smash yet

if you had to add characters from these years who would you want it to be?
I think that's a fair point, but I also think that this shows precedent for Sakurai being able to incorporate characters whose games deal with heavier themes like that while sidestepping the more controversial aspects of them, at least when it comes to playable inclusion.Well that makes it pretty clear. Saber and Demi-fiend are clearly hard locks at this point.
I actually
don't think summoning Satan to kill Yaldabaoth is on the same level as something like killing Krishna or Yahweh. But it's still pretty high up there.
I mean. One of Nintendo's major IPs, including it's latest installment which found great success on the Switch, has a surprising amount of sexual assault in the series. ****ing Fire Emblem man, even Three Houses says that multiple character almost became **** victimsI think that's a fair point, but I also think that this shows precedent for Sakurai being able to incorporate characters whose games deal with heavier themes like that while sidestepping the more controversial aspects of them, at least when it comes to playable inclusion.
With Shin Megami Tensei Religion and Religious Themes are baked into the franchises DNA. Persona does have religious content in the game in fact I think there was a controversy in India due to the fact that an Indian deity appears in the game. With Fate IIRC only the first release of the first game had the problem content in it.View attachment 279747

I would be happy, but there's a bunch of characters I would be happier about.no one but Pokemon fans would be happy about another pokemon in smash and even then, i doubt they would even be happy
I would be depending on which one it is.no one but Pokemon fans would be happy about another pokemon in smash and even then, i doubt they would even be happy
Yeah, religious themes aren't a problem. Castlevania has that too, Simon and Richter throw crosses and holy water at people. With Shin Megami Tensei Religion and Religious Themes are baked into the franchises DNA. Persona does have religious content in the game in fact I think there was a controversy in India due to the fact that Vishnu appears in the game. With Fate IIRC only the first release of the first game had the problem content in it.
The big thing that destroys this theory is Bayonetta, Not only is Bayonetta from a risque game but it also has a ton of religious symbols and themes in it

which is why I added "i doubt they would even be happy" because someone is bound to be "WHY NOT X, WHY Y?! X IS SO MUCH BETTER"I would be depending on which one it is.
I don't give a **** what any one says, I'm a big Pokemon fan and would be happy if we got another Pokemon whether it's from a previous gen (Unlikely) or Gen 8 (Hoping for Inteleon).no one but Pokemon fans would be happy about another pokemon in smash and even then, i doubt they would even be happy

I wanted to but Cortez doesn't appear in the first TimeSplitters game... So close, yet so far...You can tell Trapezium got hacked because this doesn't say Cortez
Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire first released in 2002 in Japan.
- 1982: Taizo Hori (Dig Dug)
- 2000: Ruby Heart, Sonson & Amingo (Marvel Vs. Capcom 2)
- 2003: Sceptile (Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire)
- 2008: --- (Travis Touchdown doesn't make the cut by about two and a half weeks, oof)
- 2011: Ghirahim (TLoZ: Skyward Sword)
- 2014: Shovel Knight (Shovel Knight)
- 2018: ---
- 2020: I'd rather wait for the year to finish before I pick one.
i bet my box of sugar cookies that it would be a Kanto pokemonIf we don't get a Pokemon as CP7/8, I genuinely think there's a good chance of it being an older Pokemon. If this is the case, my money's on Mimikyu, because according to the Google Poll it's the most popular Pokemon not yet in Smash.
You could replace this statement with Fire Emblem and nothing changes at the end of the day.I don't give a **** what any one says, I'm a big Pokemon fan and would be happy if we got another Pokemon whether it's from a previous gen (Unlikely) or Gen 8 (Hoping for Inteleon).
Oof, true. So they barely miss it, just like Travis.I wanted to but Cortez doesn't appear in the first TimeSplitters game... So close, yet so far...

About time we got some quality characters in this pass.2000: Ruby Heart, Sonson & Amingo (Marvel Vs. Capcom 2)
thankfully, there aren't many good Gen 1 options left. It's only really Eevee, Meowth, and Gengar, and only the latter has any moveset potential.i bet my box of sugar cookies that ot would be a Kanto pokemon

#ATTACKANDDETHRONEGODIsn't it funny how all "classic" or "masterpiece" JRPGs start you off doing some peaceful **** in like a town or in school and then all of a sudden you have a strange urge to ****ing murder God in cold blood?

Even if that were true and Pokemon fans ended up being the only ones happy with a new Pokemon, we're still talking about the biggest and most profitable franchise in the world.no one but Pokemon fans would be happy about another pokemon in smash and even then, i doubt they would even be happy
Liked just for this one.2008 - Raymond "Ray" Bryce (Disaster: Day of Crisis)
