Like the other guy above said though: every other developer is still announcing stuff. It just seems odd ninte lno is saying nothing, not even a statement about nothing. We know they have more games planned according to their shareholders meeting

He's not backtracking, he is doubling down that Monday is the supposed direct which I see as a good sign.

True, because ARMS was a case where Nintendo got interested in promoting the IP again.

If we are seriously getting a surprise Direct on Monday then Nintendo has done an awful job getting people prepared for these.

Shadowdropping a showcase of your holiday lineup makes no sense at all. Why not announce it a few days in advance (or better yet, a week)?

Given the context of the ARMS guessing game, I find it highly unlikely they would do it again. Unless, of course, they want to inflict as much pain as possible with, “Who’s that Pokémon?!” With 600+ portraits.

I doubt they’d do the same thing twice, especially if it’s a 3rd party series. The only type of series that would work for is something that Kinda sorta fits ARMS. Like, another fighting game for example.

I just don’t see it happening.

They're talking about that cursed 1000+ character roster I made. I did include those characters, but not Waluigi because of the "Waluigi is always neglected" meme and all that.

The only type of series that would work for is something that Kinda sorta fits ARMS. Like, another fighting game for example.

Those really are the only series that can work with the guessing game format. Fighting games tend to have multiple main characters. I really don't want another guessing game still.

I would think they have a bit more to show considering there was no e3. Though I guess it's possible they really did slow everything down cuz of the quarantine. Dunno.

I was already expecting it to be a mini. The only other times I remember a direct leaking this thoroughly, with a date, was the January 2018 one and the March 2020 one - which were both minis.

This doesn't mean it'll be bad though. The January 2018 one was actually pretty great!

Also, pessimist here, but the bonus games would probably just be the original versions of the remade games + Super Mario 64 DS.

Hulu is on the Switch, does it use HCDP? I genuinely don't know.

Predicting the trailer of a game to be shown off when we've only had one other Direct this year isn't very impressive.

We knew Moon was coming, and if they wanted to show it off in a Direct, they probably only had 2-3 opportunities this year to do it. The first was back in March, and the second is now. We could possibly get another Direct later this year, but I wouldn't count on it. This may have been their last chance for 2020.

I must say that "Samus's Revenge" and "The Return of Ganon" aren't good titles imho

I still feel the odds for a Mini are good. There are still unannounced titles releasing this year according Furukawa (Mario remasters are the potential big ones), Animal Crossing DLC for August that needs unveiling (this could also be done in a tweet though, keep that in mind), FP7, Pokemon DLC, and rumored third party titles like the Tomb Raider collection that could all easily fill out a nice 20-minute Direct Mini. We'll just have to wait and see what Monday morning brings.
