So assuming there is a General Direct on the 20th. What do you guys think of the chances of FP7?
Personally 50/50 on it.

It’s super smash brosThat seems to be what the consensus is, if it was say Shantae you would think they would have just announced yesterday during the Limited Run stream and the fact its happening during a Nintendo Treehouse stream and the wording does implied its a franchise Wayforward never worked on before, so its very likely its a Nintendo IP that Wayforward is working, now the question is which one?
If something happens on the 20th, it's probably a retool of their E3 content, so I'd say a Smash reveal is pretty likely. So assuming there is a General Direct on the 20th. What do you guys think of the chances of FP7?

75%.So assuming there is a General Direct on the 20th. What do you guys think of the chances of FP7?

If we do, then I think at best it will be an ARMS style reveal where we learn which franchise the character is from, since with us getting Min Min so recently you would think that CP7 would be revealed during her presentation as well. So put me at say 25%.So assuming there is a General Direct on the 20th. What do you guys think of the chances of FP7?

I rather they not do thatIf we do, then I think at best it will be an ARMS style reveal where we learn which franchise the character is from, since with us getting Min Min so recently you would think that CP7 would be revealed during her presentation as well. So put me at say 25%.
Watch that this is their way of revealing characters so forth.I rather they not do that
I don't think that's going to happen unless the fighter's series is like ARMS.If we do, then I think at best it will be an ARMS style reveal where we learn which franchise the character is from, since with us getting Min Min so recently you would think that CP7 would be revealed during her presentation as well. So put me at say 25%.
That's dumb thinking because they literally never reveal characters in Sakurai presentation streams like that.If we do, then I think at best it will be an ARMS style reveal where we learn which franchise the character is from, since with us getting Min Min so recently you would think that CP7 would be revealed during her presentation as well. So put me at say 25%.
I'm pretty sure you're referring to IAmShifty. He leaked some stuff for the base game (not sure if he was the first to leak PP tho), someone (Brother AJ) made a pretty good breakdown of his track record a while ago in the Hayabusa thread, here i found it:No, that's not it either... I remember a guy on Youtube talking about PP, around the same time as these, but unrelated. I don't remember his name though.
Of course, Byleth eventually got in as FP5 so apparently his source was wrong or something idk.In the first leak video I can find on his channel, he reveals that a source is telling him Isabelle, Ken, and Incineroar are coming to the game. At this point Vergeben had already leaked Isabelle, Ken, and a gen 7 rep, but did not confirm it was Incineroar until after Shifty's vid. This same video also confirms that Isabelle was the very next fighter that would be revealed (which was true), and that Rathalos, Dracula, and Marx would show up as bosses in the then unknown blurred out mode (Spirits Mode).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdYhLFiJIsY
His next leak video claims that Box Theory was true, which was correct.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2wX71R-G1I
This next video claims Ultimate DLC would go on for two years, and in all honesty it looks like this will come to pass. This at least would've made us aware that DLC would continue after the fighter pass.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcmAVb8sGz0&t=291s
The next one was a leak of the Smash Direct in November. He revealed a second source which was recommended by his first source in all the previous videos. This source claimed that the Direct would be coming November 2nd. It actually turned out to be the first, but it was pretty damn close.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfcEwxiNdGk&t=1s
This is the last leak video before the Ryu vid where he deconfirms the Grinch leak, and confirms Piranha Plant of all characters (PP was leaked by the second source).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8Wq3uuPDyg
Finally we have the Ryu videos. Obviously there was controversy surrounding these videos because he claimed Ryu, in no uncertain terms, would be the 4th DLC fighter. This turned out not to be the case. The second video, which discusses the SNK leak, claims that neither of his sources knew of SNK being in the game (indeed, almost no one seemed to), but reiterated that they had heard Ryu would certainly be in the fighter pass.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcwSKSy-nIY&t=6s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWP1fHUK0kA&t=1s
So most of his claims have been proven true. One has yet to be confirmed (DLC lasting 2 years), and 2 were proven to be wrong (although the direct date was very close).
How many times has this forum said that Sakurai would never do something and yet does it anyway? Besides we had a Sakurai presentation happen the same day Terry was revealed and even had additional footage of him not shown during the direct. Plus we have all those Mii costumes some of whom are treated as legit characters by the fandom. Hell during the Smash 4 era he did entire presentations where he revealed multiple characters like Ryu was revealed along side Roy and Lucas right before E3 2015 and Bayonetta and Corrin were revealed along side each other during a presentation that also detailed how Cloud plays. That's dumb thinking because they literally never reveal characters in Sakurai presentation streams like that.
I doubt the guessing game would be a continual thing, but it wouldn't surprise me if reveals continue to be held off until the Sakurai presentations. It's been done twice in row now, but it also hasn't happened to a third party character, so we'll see.Watch that this is their way of revealing characters so forth.
At least it does increase the odds for a direct on the 20th, since if it were a first party ip it would be a little weird to not be included a direct. So its probably a small game that isn't planned to be in any direct. And the Nintendo Twitter just clarified that the franchise Way Forward is working on is third party so we're back to square one.
Out of the Xenoblade 2 cast? Jin has the best chances since he is the co-protagonist of Torna The Golden Country. Plus there are other Xenoblade game's like X which has Elma and the player character and they can go back to original and get Fiora or Melia.Unless they make it broad and refer to the franchise as a whole, I think SwSh is the only other first-party game where an ARMS style reveal would work well. Most of the games worth considering don't have enough notable characters to make it a mystery. If they announce XC2 is getting a character, how likely is it that the character wouldn't be Rex?
With third-parties, it really just depends on which franchise the character they choose comes from.
I still think that’s not going to happen. Please something Metroid related. It it isn't there I would basically assume no Metroid until 2021 lol75%.
Seems that Paper Mario was supposed to be a Treehouse game for E3, but it got cancelled, this treehouse being a catch-up session for it. Like a post E3 Treehouses.
Then we have Min-Min who was still out around June as promised, if E3 was there nothinf would have changed and we probably would have gotten her trailer and presentation there with a drop the 30.
And E3 is notable to always have 2 smash reveal as always.
Consider that this direct might have been what E3 was supposed to be, and you can safely think that we at least will get the announcement of our FP7 for this fall.
While Rex and Pyra would be cool for me, I'd prefer to have Lora & Jin or Addam & Mythra from Torna. Obviously they won't happen even if they're protagonists in their own. If they choose a XC2 rep that would be Rex, so the Guess Who? game wouldn't work here.Unless they make it broad and refer to the franchise as a whole, I think SwSh is the only other first-party game where an ARMS style reveal would work well. Most of the games worth considering don't have enough notable characters to make it a mystery. If they announce XC2 is getting a character, how likely is it that the character wouldn't be Rex?

Oh jeez, can people stop bringing Legacy XP up as a "suspicious" point for Geno speculation? The person behind the mod already stated there was no company involvement to why LXP/LTE to a halt on its development. He also mentions how its the sort of thing that could include legal complications if it were to be discussed, so again, we think its about legacy xp.
Oooh, yeah, that's the one! What I meant in my original post was that maybe it wasn't that his source was wrong, but rather that Hayabusa was meant for season 2 rather than simply being "the next character" - like how we first heard about Hero, back then just "a new Square character" before the base game even released.I'm pretty sure you're referring to IAmShifty. He leaked some stuff for the base game (not sure if he was the first to leak PP tho), someone (Brother AJ) made a pretty good breakdown of his track record a while ago in the Hayabusa thread, here i found it:

It totally has to be Dr. N. Gin! They wouldn't go with the boring pick!I still think revealing 7 like arms isn’t a very smart move
Like “7 will be someone from the crash bandicoot series” that makes no sense at all
Lora: "Am I a joke to you?"Out of the Xenoblade 2 cast? Jin has the best chances since he is the co-protagonist of Torna The Golden Country. Plus there are other Xenoblade game's like X which has Elma and the player character and they can go back to original and get Fiora or Melia.
A new Tales game would have interesting implications if a Tales character were coming to Smash. Maybe. I'm just curious if a new protagonist or a port of an older one would shake up expectations. Like, if we got a port of Symphonia, I'd be on the Lloyd train. If we got a completely new game I'd lean toward the new person. If it was a different port, I don't know what I'd think was likely anymore.I'm predicting the Way Forward title is a new Castlevania game.
And I'm hearing of rumors about a direct on the 20th. Well all I can say about that is that I hope that the Tales Switch news from the NoA Ambassador is revealed there finally.
I hope that was only because ARMS was a first party AND also there was a good amount of characters to choose from. I don't think 7 will be revealed like that. My guess its going to be revealed like Blythe was. Sakurai staying ok here we go....... and boom the reveal. I do agree it makes no sense to do that with "other" IP's maybe only a handful can be excused i guess.I still think revealing 7 like arms isn’t a very smart move

Yeah, Touhou's not as big outside Japan, but it's still huge in Japan. Shantae's the only indie represented so far to have debuted before the 2010's, and even then it only picked up during the sudden indie bloom. Besides, are (Or were, at least) pretty niche outside of Japan, and yet here we are.If we're just getting a bunch of Treehouse streams and not a general Direct, then I think there's a decent chance Min Min was the extent of Smash's presence at E3.
Granted, I don't know how likely a bunch of random streams would be. I can't see them randomly dropping major titles all throughout July like they did with Origami King.
Personally, I don't think Reimu is very likely to become anything more than a Mii costume or Spirit. She's popular in Japan, but no so much overseas.
If they decided to add an indie, I think they'd aim for someone most of the world could recognize. Most of the indies they've represented so far fit that bill (Shovel Knight, Shantae, Undertale, Cuphead, etc.)
Pretty sure it's "Toh-hoh," same way as how you say the name of the guys who make Godzilla movies. How do you pronounce Touhou? Toe hoe? Too hoo? Tao how?
I can't remember if I've ever heard it pronounced before and I'm curious.
I dont think they meant WF is working with another 3rd party company. I just think they wanted to clear up thoughts about it being a 1st party (nintendo) collaboration.I'm hoping for Castlevania or something Megaman related for the Wayforward game.
Idk about that. I think If Nintendo wants another xenoblade character they would most likely go for RexUnless they make it broad and refer to the franchise as a whole, I think SwSh is the only other first-party game where an ARMS style reveal would work well. Most of the games worth considering don't have enough notable characters to make it a mystery. If they announce XC2 is getting a character, how likely is it that the character wouldn't be Rex?

Surprise! You thought it was Crash, but it was actually N. Brio!I still think revealing 7 like arms isn’t a very smart move
Like “7 will be someone from the crash bandicoot series” that makes no sense at all
Or better yetSurprise! You thought it was Crash, but it was actually N. Brio!
I can't believe I forgot that they added that into Crash Team Racing, especially when Crate joins the small list of characters (N. Tropy and Fake Crash) that I'll likely never be able to unlock.Or better yet
CRATE
Hang on, I'm preparing my essay on why a crate makes perfect sense to be in Smash as a celebration of gaming based on how common a trope they are across multiple video game series.Or better yet
CRATE
I wouldn’t get my hopes up for a new Tales of game, unless he was talking about old ports like Xillia 1/2, Graces F, Symphonia collection, Zestiria, Berseria, etc. At best, that “new tales of game” will be a spin-off (from another genre) like PSP’s Radiant Mythology.I'm predicting the Way Forward title is a new Castlevania game.
And I'm hearing of rumors about a direct on the 20th. Well all I can say about that is that I hope that the Tales Switch news from the NoA Ambassador is revealed there finally.
Graces and the Xillia duology are hella overdue for ports i swearI wouldn’t get my hopes up for a new Tales of game, unless he was talking about old ports like Xillia 1/2, Graces F, Symphonia collection, Zestiria, Berseria, etc. At best, that “new tales of game” will be a spin-off (from another genre) like PSP’s Radiant Mythology.
Though, I hope that on the near future they start to ports all previous Tales games (on Switch, PS4 and XOne).
