Well, they're a big Japanese company with a lot of popular and iconic IPs that aren't yet represented in the game in some way. That's really all it takes for people to speculate on a company's chances of getting another character. Is there any particular reason why people think Square Enix is even going to get another rep? They already had Cloud in the main game and Hero as a DLC character.
Are the more credible insiders saying there’s going to be a third SE character? I just figured this pass would be mostly Nintendo characters and some third party companies who haven’t been represented yet or others like Namco who only have one rep.
By technicality, we have three Konami reps () and three Capcom reps (). And yes, I know it's only because the aforementioned third reps from the aforementioned companies are Echoes, but that still gives Square Enix a pass for a third rep.Is there any particular reason why people think Square Enix is even going to get another rep? They already had Cloud in the main game and Hero as a DLC character.

Capcom is notoriously easy to deal with, making this laughable at bestI think i remember a rumor about Jill being Negetioated for, but was Dropped. Papagenos talked about it
I don't think it had anything to do with Moveset. Honestly though i think it was on Nintendo's end for why the deal got dropped .Maybe there were aspects Capcom wanted included that Nintendo was no on. It happens
Lmao no it's notI will admit, you actually do make a great point about the fact that Nintendo has yet to take down the leak, and that is definitely the one red flag I see in the leak. To me, however, the most convincing thing has to be that the leak is in debug mode, which was the same thing shown in the Ken leak.
We have no idea where this pass is going, and tryingg to extrapolate a pattern of "mostly Nintendo characters" from one character is fundamentally flawed. Is there any particular reason why people think Square Enix is even going to get another rep? They already had Cloud in the main game and Hero as a DLC character.

I think it may be due to the RE cast's reliance on realistic firearms.I really wish someone asks Sakurai why they passed on RE one day. It’s such a historic game series with a lot of potential for a fun moveset.
It’s the highest selling Japanese franchise without a playable character. Only Japanese series that are higher are Mario, Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Sonic & Zelda. A goal Sakurai’s stated in the past is that he wants to show the world how great Japanese games are, so it’s so weird to me that he’d pass up on adding a character to such a huge/important series.
I’ll be delusional & just hope Sakurai is a Claire/RE2 fanboy & the RE spirits were just to throw us off the scent. <_____<
To me it's mostly because of the Mii costumes. They had a perfect opportunity to rerelease Chocobo and Geno with Hero, but they didn't. Instead, Hero was the only character not to come with two returning Mii Costumes. Combine this with the fact that they were released only a month after E3, where Fighters Pass Vol. 2 was decided apparently, and it makes sense to theorize that the Mii costumes were put on hold.Is there any particular reason why people think Square Enix is even going to get another rep? They already had Cloud in the main game and Hero as a DLC character.

Joker's gun being fake is never explained in Smash so it looks real, sounds real and acts real, so if you didn't know about Metaverse rules you would assume it's real. We've gotten kid shows in Japan use realistic guns as intended pretty often. Hell, I can think of one where one of it's recent episodes had military soldiers shoot the protagonist with intent to kill. This does not matterI think it may be due to the RE cast's reliance on realistic firearms.
Snake does too, but they found a way around it with explosives.
I see your Snake and raise you a Joker.I think it may be due to the RE cast's reliance on realistic firearms.

No see, it doesn't count because they make pew pew noises. Because remember, if it isn't a 1-1 depiction of what a child may come across in real life, it's not a gun. There is absolutely no flawed logic in this statement whatsoever. We've gotten kid shows in Japan use realistic guns as intended pretty often.
I think the difference is that Joker uses it for one special move.Joker's gun being fake is never explained in Smash so it looks real, sounds real and acts real, so if you didn't know about Metaverse rules you would assume it's real. Honestly I see RE characters using a combat knife for normals more, and hey, look at Joker's normals.I think the difference is that Joker uses it for one special move.
I imagine an RE character would use it frequently, unless its someone like Wesker or Nemesis.
I'm not sure the ESRB would care if it was used once or multiple times within a character's moveset. A realistic looking gun that fires what is assumed to be bullets is a realistic looking gun that fires what is assumed to be bullets.I think the difference is that Joker uses it for one special move.

Right here:Anyone got an link to that template? I'd like to do an top 10 myself.
I'd be okay with it! The Scorbunny line is my favorite. How would you all react if Cinderace is a DLC character in Fighters Pass 2?
This made me realize that they'd likely uses guns less than Joker because they'd likely have to search for ammunition first.Honestly I see RE characters using a combat knife for normals more, and hey, look at Joker's normals.
The way I see them working is limited ammo per stock like Wonderwing, you get like 3 Magnum shots, they have surprisingly low startup and do like idk 35% but you only get 3 per stock while your other specials have limited uses per stock, a character who starts out pretty strong but can be crippled if the fight lasts too long. Balance them like Hero by having slow ass normals tooThis made me realize that they'd likely uses guns less than Joker because they'd likely have to search for ammunition first.
Well for me, I want to see if there is any Square Enix characters whose franchise/series can break the dread two musics restriction. For example, Cloud have only two tracks and Hero have two tracks per alternate skins. I feel like composer Ravo of Sound Horizon who is returning for Bravely Default II can break this restriction once a Bravely characters appears as one of the fighters in Fighter Pass 2.Is there any particular reason why people think Square Enix is even going to get another rep? They already had Cloud in the main game and Hero as a DLC character.

Oh yeah, 'cuz the knife sucks...Balance them like Hero by having slow ass normals too
Or maybe Yoko Shimomura can help break the barrier for Kingdom Hearts, since she's a composer already on board for Ultimate.Well for me, I want to see if there is any Square Enix characters whose franchise/series can break the dread two musics restriction. Uematsu composed Brawl's theme and we couldn't even get more than 2 of his FF tracks. Only way I could see KH getting more is if the soundtrack is owned by Disney and them being more generous than Square.Or maybe Yoko Shimomura can help break the barrier for Kingdom Hearts, since she's a composer already on board for Ultimate.
*later*I would also suggest a RE character have an amazing run/walk speed for their weight class, whatever it would be
but then when they hit high percents/low HP they slow down considerably, like in the series
Well, there is also composer Keiichi Okabe who is already on the Smash music team and he indeed composed musics for Nier. Either way, one of these composers will have the final say on which music is allowed and the set number of track that can appears alongside the supposed Square Enix fighter for Fighter Pass 2.Or maybe Yoko Shimomura can help break the barrier for Kingdom Hearts, since she's a composer already on board for Ultimate.
Yeah I could definitely see that over a "keep track of your ammo because after a while you'll become useless."If a Resident Evil character REALLY needs a gimmick, instead of having limited ammo per stock, why not make it so it needs to reload after a couple of shots? It's a key part of any shooter game, first or third person, and would be a lot more fun than basically losing a move after 5 or so uses. Give it a separated command like Down B or Shield B to manually reload it anytime the player want or make the character only reload after using all its ammo.
Chris gets Charizard's Rock Smash. They should Add Chris as the RE rep and have one of his specials be punching boulders into opponents.
And...that's all I have to add, as I never played a RE game and am not very familiar of it...
React like pretty much anyone else would. I personally find the starters a bit too boring and would probably prefer one of the other 2 but I'd just go eh, pretty standard stuff. How would you all react if Cinderace is a DLC character in Fighters Pass 2?
Nah it's Saitama's face pasted on my Trapezium character but good call with Jelly Jiggler. I love Bobobo. Is that Jelly Jigglers face? That has to be Jelly Jigglers face
From what I've seen, ****** out here LOVE Sora. Layton's probably that dude in the office you get along with but don't know like that.No source gaming, I dont wanna play a game, I want to know how low Layton and sora are on the poll so I can stop pretending that people like them
It reminds me, a while ago, someone (inksaver) posted this moveset concept for Jill:I think the difference is that Joker uses it for one special move.
I imagine an RE character would use it frequently, unless its someone like Wesker or Nemesis.
Idk how the rating system works exactly but based on what we have with Snake and Joker i guess the grenade/rocket launchers would be ok (?) and handguns are fair game too (unless they're too realistic?? idk). So i'm guessing something like that could work.
Mega Man isn't on this list, so I have to fundamentally disagree. Was a perfect way to start off the game. What do you guys consider to be the most hypest character reveal?
If I had to guess it'd come down toand
Guess it came down to/or
Same as Incineroar. Disappointed but he'd probably control pretty good. Then makes me wish Decidueye was chosen instead of Incineroar. How would you all react if Cinderace is a DLC character in Fighters Pass 2?
I don't know how much that'd exactly help. Keiichi Okabe also did music for various Tekken games. And that series was in consideration before Okabe joined up for Ultimate. I think the music side of things would only matter a heck of a lot more after the character had been chosen.Well, there is also composer Keiichi Okabe who is already on the Smash music team and he indeed composed musics for Nier. Either way, one of these composers will have the final say on which music is allowed and the set number of track that can appears alongside the supposed Square Enix fighter for Fighter Pass 2.
People have been saying this since Brawl.Or maybe Yoko Shimomura can help break the barrier for Kingdom Hearts, since she's a composer already on board for Ultimate.
[Looks at Uetmatsu's contribution to Brawl]People have been saying this since Brawl.
The composers really don't affect which characters get included. They're basically all work for hire anyway.
