Ness being an base for Rayman actually does make a lot of sense when you really think about it with the whole long distance and reaching thing and such.

That seems kinda random. Ness doesn't have any similarity to Rayman aside from... a big head? I don't see how their skeletons are similar otherwise.

Also, I don't think reach has anything to do with it when you have stuff like Simon sharing animations with Captain Falcon. Hitboxes aren't attached to models so there is no need to choose a base for a fighter based on their attacks' length.

My one real gripe with this "base glitch theory", is that if it keeps supposedly happening with Ultimate, you'd think it also would've happened with 4's dlc.

It was a made up leak by a believable person at the time. There is no conspiracy of Minecraft content coming. If Minecraft content is coming, it is completely independent of what Vergeben claimed and then backtracked on.

I know you and whoever already said this about the Vergermeister and his source, it was just a thought I had and already deemed unlikely. I mainly entertained it due to one other guy saying stuff about Steve as well, a guy who claimed to be in some sort of position/job for Windows (I forgot what position, this was sometime during the first half of last year) and talked to Sabi, but he also seemed to backtrack and I still think Minecraft would most-likely have been negotiated last year if the info we all have about Pass 2’s conception is true. Honestly I guess I shouldn’t have entertained it at all, I don’t believe it to be the case if Minecraft gets in as I’ve explained, though I guess I just thought there was always some possibility.

tbh yeah I expressed that in one of my previous posts, but I guess I just thought of info possibly trickling down somewhere. He may have also said something about Banjo, maybe not, idk...I think it was shared in the Banjo thread early last year, which is part of why I entertained it since it wasn’t 2018 iirc. It was just a thought I entertained, I don’t believe it would really be the case. I really think these “leaks” most-likely won’t have anything to do with it, but instead it would all be negotiated sometime around E3 last year or after and so the “leaks” wouldn’t make any sense since not even true murmurs of them working with Minecraft would’ve come up around the time of the “leaks” or leakbait claims.

There’s a difference. File names are obviously not the actual name of an object because it’s easier to shorten it. Even if it isn’t ‘official’ it shows that the devs consider it both a weapon and a gun.

Theories are set to explain phenomena already supported by data. This is just an assumption made without any supporting evidence or research.

The whole hypothesis of that seems to be a stretch anyway. I'm not entirely sure using the "base" characters would really narrow anything down because any Smash character could be used as a base for...hypothetically, any gaming character on the planet.

If you want an actual breakdown on the proposed pass in the context of this thread then:

- Spring Man - Not the most popular character going by the thread poll, plenty here weren't enthralled by Arms either
- Paper Mario - Some people here aren't particularly enthralled by the idea of getting a third Mario and recent titles weren't exactly super well received
- Sylux - How many people here actually give a **** about him?
- Rex - XC2 is divisive here and Rex is a part of why
- Unspecified Gen 8 Pokemon - It's unspecified. Is it store brand Sif? Is it Grimmsnarl? Is it another fire starter? Is it another Humanoid Pokemon that practises a particular fighting style? Is it an oddball pick? Kinda hard to be excited for this when it could be any of nearly a 100 picks with plenty that'd be lame. Even then, plenty here don't like Gen 8 for numerous reasons. This just keeps getting more divisive the more you dig into it
- Waluigi - I don't think I need to explain how or why he's divisive here

-not many, I even gave up on the idea as soon as Ridley and Dark Samus finally made it in. Now people think the guy qualifies as hindsighted addition even though we're pass that point now along with the development hell of Prime 4, like okay we already know the DS Hunters are going to be reused again, Sylux isn't in a special position aside being first in line. Plus a new mainline 2D Metroid entry announcement would pretty much sweep off any remaning talks of Sylux even, since people would be talking about who evers also important in the game.

-honestly the only Smash Pokemon i'm expecting for is Intelleon at this point, while i rather prefer Toxtricity and Rillaboom instead. Not a big fan of Cinderace in terms of a fighter in Smash (it's still one of my few favorites from Galar), and Urshifu speculation sounds like people are just being baited like how people thought one of the Tapus or Ultra Beasts was getting the Smash treatment.

Blazing Blade is surprising, but not unexpected.


Between Roy's game being utterly dull gameplay wise with every map being "ROUTE THE ENEMY", and 8 being....8, I suppose it makes sense that the only other GBA game makes it.


Granted, also won't lie in how much Lyn Lust probably played a part in it, rofl.

I'm surprised Blazing Blade is on there, I thought Japan preferred Binding Blade more since it was a more straightforward entry and didn't have Lyn Mode. Other then that, the other four FE games on there make a lot of sense as they've always been popular in the franchise, and Genealogy in particular is a game that always does well with Famitsu's voting crowd.

Also more fuel for the truth that is Lyn should've been playable.
