Shamelessly stealing this from the "Build your Avengers team!" game on twitter, but I'm generally unoriginal so I think this should work out:

Build your own Smash DLC!

The rules are simple. You get $15 to spend on your selection of DLC characters. Every character is priced from $1 to $5 based on no objective criteria beyond my own judgement of "yeah, this seems right here". There's no bonus for having excess money, so try to make every dollar count!

Considering that the community doesn't talk about League of Legends much, I predict that if we get a character from that game, then we'll get the whiney fanboys going "literally who", and the League of Legends fans going "It's literally one of if not the biggest game in the e-sports scene what'chu mean?".

Also, I don't believe the game has a main character, so what does the pool of reasonable picks look like for the game?

I mean, we'd obviously get the galaxy dragon but like, who would be in the running if he didn't exist?

Considering Smash fans claimed they never heard about a critically acclaimed hit from 2017 that people refuse to shut up about, a long running franchise that has a highly recognizable enemy alongside how Europe got some games localized by fan demand and an entire company that influenced Smash heavily and was making headlines for quite a while before it's addition including angry Melee fans claiming the company bribed Mr. Wiz and a mainstream crossover, I genuinely see people here pretending that they never heard of League should a character get in

Trials of Mana and Hollow Knight seems like relatively safe guesses, specially the second one. People has suggested a Mii Costume for the Knight a lot of times after Sans and Cuphead. It would make sense.
Trials of Mana is a game that has appeared in Directs and all, so a spirit event doesn't sound really strange, we're not talking about a spirit boart for Uncharted or something like that.

Probably just a lucky guess, but who knows. Never played LoL, but if we're really gonna get a LoL rep that would be a big pick, honestly. Maybe League of Legends hasn't support for Smash, but it's a massive game with a strong community and fanbase. It would surprise us all but few choices would be bigger in terms of impact than a LoL character.

Which is my point exactly, I'm convinced that the people going "I never heard of Persona 5/Dragon Quest/SNK" on this site lied and League's heh, leagues above most franchises Smash already has in name recognition

Hollow Knight should not look lanky or have Mii proportions at all. Just the helmet would be fine, I don't want to see the Knight's Mii proportioned void body.

League doesn't really have a definitive mascot, though there are multiple characters who get pushed more such as Ahri, Yi, Jinx and Teemo for example

I played League of Legends like, twice. It was fun, and I actually did well. But despite that, I would actually be pretty down.

It's a weird feeling. I feel as though there are some characters that I'm like, "Eh, not interested!", but I'm relatively open-minded now.

I'm not convinced about it just yet. Saying, "It's a League character" leaves things open to...how many options? Usually legit leaks are precise and tell us exactly what we're getting.

With any leak, take it with a grain of salt. Hollow Knight getting a costume seemed like a good guess that anybody could make, and I don't really know that Trials of Mana getting a Spirit Event is THAT crazy of an idea.

We'll see what happens here.

We've had more than a few "leaks" that ended up getting one thing right, convinced a lot of people they were real, and then died shortly after because they made everything up and relied on that one correct detail to make it seem genuine.

A LoL character becoming a Spirit shouldn't deconfirm it, but I have my doubts about LoL either way.
