I don't remember where I read it, but I remember someone telling me there are individual rights holders for specific Final Fantasy tracks, but SQEX can kind of override that when it's their product but not when it isn't (so like why they can make stuff like Theatrhythm). It goes beyond just Uematsu apparently.
What a nice game, however I live in the UK so I have to convert American dollars into British pounds so it makes sense for me and is not in anyway an excuse to extend the roster over more than I'm allowed.
You know that one copypasta of that theory why Geno doesn't get any play anymore is because Nintendo/Square Enix love him too much and are waiting to put him in the best IP possible?
I'll admit, I've been missing these kinds of leaks. No way in hell it's real, but it mostly plays it safe and it's probably healthy and fun to discuss and/or mock.
This post really confused until I realised you meant Trials of Mana. The series is Mana, Trials is a motorbike game.
I'm fine if they went this route, but I'm worried about the effects of doing this after getting four third-parties in a row. I'm seeing more and more people with the mentality of, "You're not worth it if you're not third-party."

It still boggles my mind we got to this point with first party characters...
Unfortunately, most of the time other first-party characters are given the Assist treatment instead of anything more, reducing the number of first-party picks
I mean in the hypothetical scenario where we get more and more first-parties, those types of criticism will get more and more pushed back against and those characters will end up being defended against, even if one of them ends up being something like a Monty Mole.
Anyone who makes that kind of argument is being ridiculous. Granted, I’m not sure that the amount of people who actually use this argument isn’t exaggerated.
I mean, it'd help if their choices for Nintendo DLC characters weren't 50% Fire Emblem Advertisements, 25% Mario enemies no-one asked for, 25% characters that should've been in the base game. If they pull a Ridley or K. Rool out of their hat for the pass I think people would be a lot more receptive.
Well sure, I was mostly aiming my comment at those that have a "anything that isn't third party isn't worth it!" mentality, as Cosmic described it.

So I immediately bottleneck towards Arle, and burn 2 dollars. Then I give her an Echo Fighter of Ken's quality in Amitie, taking 4. Paper Mario makes 6, Lloyd Irving makes 10, and Crash Bandicoot takes whatever's left at 15!

As for Ahri itself that's a pick that makes sense in the context of league. She's been used in a lot of promotional materials and she's generally popular. I'm okay with this pick.
Seems like my top 4 would be a dollar too many. Looks like RH has to sit this one out.

After fully finishing Final Fantasy 7 Remake, seeing FF7 get so little hurts a hell of a lot more. Even if I had limitations like "Only 8 spirits and 5 music tracks and 1 Assist Trophy", I would add this:

He can be a spirit. The playable character has to be the galaxy dragon because why would you not add it? It's a galaxy dragon!
