Hey guys, how about we play a game to pass the time?

Make a Fighters Pass that consists of Assist Trophy upgrades!

The catch: the only ATs that can be chosen are those whose franchises currently don’t have any playabe characters.

Here’s mine.

• Spring Man
• Shovel Knight
• Bomberman
• Isaac
• Starfy
• Rathalos

You know what would've been really cool? Imagine if they announced ARMS getting a character in Smash as usual, but what if they deconfirmed one character every week up until the reveal?

I think that would've been a really good way to get people engaged and learn even more about the ARMS cast than they already are now.

That basically be a public execution of the majority of ARMS cast lol.

• Random Event with no new spirits
• Weird event with characters people weren't really expecting to get in anyway
• Big Deconfirmation Event

This week I predict we get a event tourney where the prize is... a Dante spirit or something.

Edit: Unrelated but they made the Astral Chain and River City spirits out of event exclusive status. So now we're missing Cuphead, Lotus, Ring Fit, and New Horizons spirits from the event pool.

Man I'm still waiting for that Fire Emblem themed tourney with this 30th Anniversary happening, but we just had 2 tournies straight. It's probably gonna be a regular spirit event but with Fire Emblem characters if they got something planned for it.

I fear, every week, that we'll finally get that Mystery Dungeon event, and all my hope was misplaced. I thought it would wane a few weeks after, but no such luck.

I don't know how to count weeks, don't mind me then. I thought the gap between the anniversary event and the subsequent event left us with 3 weeks without an event. It's just 2 weeks.

If we get a Spirit Event today, I'll take a wild guess and say it'll be Spirits from Luigi's Mansion 3.

Because what better time to celebrate a Halloween release than late April?

If anything, this could give a boost to him with less franchises in the way.

Or this could be all SE for Pass 2.

I’m still of the mindset that Sakurai just made a deal for a 3 game contract for FFVII stuff and got the bare minimum so that he could carry Cloud and Co. over from Smash For to Ultimate without any headache but who knows?

I guess the people behind FF7 are more restrictive with Final Fantasy content than the people behind DQ and Trials of Mana.

But hey, those "Square Stingy" arguments are getting closer and closer to eating **** now.

(Just imagine the backlash we would get if this had become real in today's Smash community. I was actually thinking that we'd be getting this series in Smash in some way this cycle after playing the demo a few weeks back. Great to see a legendary Square RPG from the 90's represented.

I do hope this means Square Enix is being more accepting of content slowly. Even if we can't get a new SE rep, it'd be nice if we get more spirits and some Mii costumes.

It'd surely be good to see it expand a little bit there to make up for a lack of FF7 spirits and representation.

Well that’s a neat surprise, I didn’t expect Trials of Mana to get a Spirit Event.

It's more that Square is alot more stingy with Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest than anything else, and Kingdom Hearts has Disney baggage. Everything else it's pretty open with, Nier Automata has crossovers all the time. Lara Croft shows up in Brawlhala and Rainbow Six,

Dang, a friend of mine will be happy about this. Still... are they six separate Spirits? Not only is FF really in the dust now, but it would be the Spirit event with the most content SO FAR (before, the record was 4, I believe).
