Hollow Knight should not look lanky or have Mii proportions at all. Just the helmet would be fine, I don't want to see the Knight's Mii proportioned void body.

It'd probably just be the leafy shawl thing with a black leotard underneath, and a nail instead of a sword. It wouldn't be as...erm, "immersive" as the Sans or Cuphead costumes, but I don't think it'd look bad.

Only if they are making a new Paper Mario game, and even then only if the new Paper Mario game is a high profile game that is a return to the Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door's style of play, and even then I'd say it's unlikely.

We could see the announcement and the character about the same time, similar to how they presented Isabelle. That actually would be an interesting way to do it~ Probably the game first among the 10-or so minutes?

Vergeben is checking on it and if one of his sources says "A LOL rep is challenger pack 7" or "A LOL rep is not challenger pack 7". If it is latter, we're going to have another guessing game for the leaked Challenger pack 7.

I'm not going to jump on the train, but there are two aspects. One of these needs to fall into place for the rumor to have any validity, (and honestly I'm not counting on them, in case):

First. Riot has several projects underway (including a job listing mentioning the Switch). So then the question becomes if the Switch project (perhaps the LoL fighting game or another project of theirs) is part of a wider deal (FP2) or not. This train of thought is a complete crapshoot - the Switch game could easily be just that. Not putting much stock on this.

Also: When Ultimate gets submitted for an official Chinese release might matter for this rumor. Ultimate does not have an official Chinese release yet. If Smash gets submitted within the coming months then Vergeben's sources might be onto something. Might, not going to assume certainty. Tencent (Riot's and LoL's owner) are Nintendo's Chinese partners and have tons of incentive to promote the living crap out of Ultimate should they get a character in FP2 (and perhaps in conjuction with Ultimate's official Chinese release). Again. Tencent's a megacorp about as big as Facebook and absolutely inescapable in China too (their Skype practically doubles as China's ID system) so they'd make loads of noise about this if this is true. China's also the epicentre of LoL's popularity - while LoL's huge globally, it's only challenged by Minecraft in China really.

If we follow this train of though it's also contingent on anything related to Smash happening at ChinaJoy 2020 (China's E3, Shanghai, July 31st - August 3rd) or the following year. Nothing happens there? Well, that's that.

Either train of though is a complete crapshoot and dependent on stuff actually happening. So yeah, be reasonably sceptical about this rumor. We'll simply see if there is truth to this or not.

I could see that happening, and that would probably be the best way to do it.

Still, they could also wait like they did for FE. Now that ARMS is in Smash, any Switch game could randomly get a character.

League getting a character makes logical sense and would be way more fun to discuss than which arms character is getting in. mostly due to the fact the game has no mascot, rather different characters have gained and lost popularity over time. but the one i'd guess has the most chance would be the fox girl ahri.

I dunno, I just feel like with how the series has gone down that Nintendo has little reason to continue it, and I think they'd only add Paper Mario if they really wanted the series to succeed from here on out. I suppose they could want this if they want Paper Mario to replace the Mario & Luigi series as the Mario RPG series (because heaven forbid they coexist as RPGs), but...I dunno. I just have little faith there.

If they're funding another game, then they must have faith in it to some degree.

Besides, I'd argue that a decline would encourage them to add Paper Mario. A character in Smash would cause a lot of people to look into the new game and consider purchasing it.

It's very weird logic indeed. All 3rd parties we've had so far have been majorly requested, or have a good link with Nintendo, and there's Terry who's franchise sort of inspired Smash Bros. Snake is there for special reasons, Cloud has been majorly requested and the most popular character from a franchise that started on Nintendo. Joker same way, sort of.

I don't see why a 3rd party addition is now seen as automatically "better" than a first party one.

I have no interest in another Mario.

He also has that problem. Though he would at least be more unique from Mario than Dr. Mario and even Luigi ever will be. Mostly by nececity, his limbs are super short (or nonexistent) and the character doesn't really use squash and stretch in his animations unless he's getting folded or something.

To those asking about League's main character: there isn't one, really, but there are a good dozen or so Champions that are in the spotlight more often, for one reason or another.

Some, like Ashe, Ryze and Garen, are seen as very "basic" characters in their roles and can be seen as part of the "OG" crew of League. Then there's the ones Riot likes to push, like Ahri, Jinx or Lux. I'd say there's some margin for discussion regarding which rep they would choose.

However, I do think that for the most part, a mage character would take precedence, because in general they could represent some of the base mechanics of League better in a crossover fighter imo.

This is basically what Paper Mario was until Super Paper Mario, but the action commands were a bit more varied (EDIT: Though generally easier than Mario & Luigi's Bros. Attacks, and without as much spectacle likely due to being on older consoles) and you can't dodge attacks, only reduce their damage by guarding.

Personally, I think they both have enough merit to exist on their own, but I don't think Nintendo sees it that way.

I wouldn't mind another spin-off rpg series to test this kind of stuff while keeping M&L and PM closer to their originals. Hell, even continuing SMRPG like that would do more for people. ...If only cause Geno would be relevant again, heh. YMMV on how well it would go.
