Honestly I wonder if adding Mickey in as a spirit would happen. lol

At this point in Kingdom hearts the KH version of Mickey is Mickey mouse in name only. The dudes surprisingly a badass Sword Fighter king, drastically different from how he's usually presented.

Feels fake because the pacing of it doesn't match a Smash trailer at all and the script leaves something to be desired - I'm super suspicious of the "Mario is taunting" line. I think a Chief reveal trailer would be far more dramatic. Cortana also doesn't sound right to me at all.

Chief would absolutely be one of the biggest possible hype bombs they could hit us with, and he's definitely on the table, but I think this is gonna be like Palutena if it comes true.

clearly we need to tweet it at the dorito pope until he breaks down and starts crying, and then speculate his tears as being either out of irritation from all the harassment or heartbroken from having a big part of his show leaked

There was actually a fake vocaroo leak for Chief before Ultimate was released that was supposedly his website video, so that's kinda funny that it's all come back to another fake vocaroo leak.

The fact that this trailer can exist completely without visual cues obviously shows it was crafted simply to be an audio file. Cortana name-drops Smash within like the first fifteen seconds and then says, "Mario is taunting you"... seriously? You know in a real Smash trailer they'd actually have Mario taunting Chief, not Cortana explaining it. And actually some semblance of a build-up, like, you know, every other trailer.

That's because all audio can do is tell, while visually you can show.

Even Joker's reveal had some sort of a build-up to it. Hell, everyone had the ample time to think that it was a Persona 5 port.

Not only that but.
No sound. Not SFX. No nothing.

Just Cortana's voice speaking in a rather very fast pace in 30 second without any build up or anticipation....

It seems like it's fake for me lmao.

I would be perfectly down for the Chief. He’s really the one character that would totally blow off the roof in terms of characters. He’s been the whole “What’s next?! MASTER CHIEF?!?” Boogeyman of Smash Speculation so having him in would be quite legendary and ground breaking.

The only real exception to this is Snake and he was first. Regardless, this leak literally doesn't have a spot for the Splash screen. No sound effect or anything.

The biggest hype bomb they could reveal at The Game Awards is that Geoff Keighley announces that he's ending the pointless and corporate-driven awards part and it's just the announcements. I don't like awards shows in general but TGA in particular has, like, no integrity to me.

I guess footage of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's sequel would be cool though.

Being serious, I call fake on the Chief leak.

The voice sounds off, the pacing isn't right, and "some guy named Mario is taunting you" is a line straight out of 2008 Newgrounds.

Maybe I'll eat crow on this one, but I'll be very surprised if this is real.

Every trailer has had a buildup because it's an engaging structure for something getting revealed.

You gotta have the foreplay. This, well this is just... "arriving early", so to speak.

I mean, he was the fifth newcomer to be revealed in that trailer. Even the four newcomers prior to Snake had mini-buildups, whether the Halberd taking off, the arrow flying in from off-screen, ZSS's shadow in the dust cloud, or some vehicle approaching from the distance.

But at least Snake's made sense given what MGS is. It's not like Halo is just Cortana explaining stuff to you instead of it actually happening.

In my opinion, here are the truly internet breakers. Mind you for all different kinds of reasons:

Kratos (Sony IP, having all the gaming giants in one game, extremely popular, etc etc)
Chief (The Boogeyman of Smash. Often cited in jest when speculating. Seen largely as being impossible)
Crash (One of those platformining icons and an early post-Sonic rival to the Mario series)
Heihachi (Would send waves throughout the FGC and having the three most influential fighting games under one roof would be extraordinary (though T7 already does but it’s Akuma and Geese))
Lara (Sony icon but legendary in her own right. The salt and hype was be crazy)
Goku (Just cause it’s Goku)
Sora (Sora’s inclusion would throw away all the preconditioned notions of IP rights and such - especially if Disney content is added. I can see the internet having a heyday with Disney content in Smash)
Fortnight (Cause it’s Fortnight)

Smash in itself has its influential characters, and seeing that would probably make the FGC explode.

It's funny because if this person had actually made the audio more vague, it would've been more believable.
