What are you talking about?, I wanna see Brood Ryu in NvC.

:phone:
Well if you have a Shoryuken account, there is a large poll over in the UMvC board to vote on DLC characters. Right now Brood Ryu and Nina are at 11 and 13. I voted them both up.

I need to double my Geno Support now!

I'm thinking facebook, twitter,
I'd recognize other sites if I actually used them

Maybe I should find someone with better leadership abilities than me, I'm kinda lazy...

Edit: A flash campaign on Newgrounds promoting Geno. NOW that would be more my style. I don't have a lot of rep on Newgrounds though

Edit: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=367722 I have read this, basically confirming non-nintendo people made the twitter

@Metal Overlord: His chances are very likely, considering he has relavence as well as popularity as well, seeing him as an Assist Trophy definetly gives him moveset potential, his chances are pretty much realistic in Brawl, though I would put my hopes up that high.

By the way guys, I'm working on a new stage concept. Might be mildly surprised by my choice.

Well here is some new information:

NG: You’re developing a new version of Smash Bros. for Wii U. How do you intend to take advantage of the console’s unique controller?

MS: I will think about this once Kid Icarus is complete. But as it is a game of a competitive nature, I do not think that any one person should have an advantage.

NG: Smash Bros. Brawl was a complete experience. What can any sequel offer in addition to that game?

MS: There are many things that can be improved upon even in Brawl. Also, I think you can base your expectations of the new Smash Bros. once you see how well-made Kid Icarus is. The director of each game is the same, but because I regularly change my team around after projects, we will be able to see how good the team is then.

NG: There can’t be many high-profile Nintendo characters left to add to Smash Bros. Who’s left that you’d like to include?

MS: That is completely undecided, but it is true that Nintendo has not created many new characters lately.

so that means there's a good chance we'll be seeing a lot of vets returning :0

maybe better chance at third parties.

That last part means Ridley is in, I know it since he clearly admited that there aren't many new high profile characters to choose from.

Why are they polling again? All twelve newcomers are already leaked? Unless this is for DLC?

Well it seems like he knows he could make SSB4 better than Brawl was, and he seems confident that what he did with Uprising will make up believers. As for the characters, I'm sure we'll just get a little less characters, but I doubt it will be a third party frienzy. Megaman was left out of YUMvC, I think they are REALLY trying to kill him off!

So it really does sounds like Sakurai is aiming to make this more competitive. Even if he's just referring to the controller here, it gives me a lot of hope about the next Smash. I personally don't think we'll see much in terms of the WiiU controller being used. Since we have the 3DS version, I don't think we'll have anything that is pressure sensitive. And I honestly hope that Sakurai doesn't go out to include the Wiimote by itself again. IMO, FGs are best left on traditional controllers, especially if he makes C-Sticking return.

He may not have many high profiled characters, but you do have some new low profile ones like Jiro that are unique.

@nLim8ted
As I said before, increase block stun and things will change big time.

Just use a classic controller, problem solved!!

Maybe a GNC USB controller but I highly doubt Nintendo would even consider it.

The reason I "Never changed," was because Kuma never had a strong argument. Like I said, it was emotional driven. basically, the conclusion came first.

On the subject of the whole sales talk. As I've said hundreds of times, there are several factors involved. The biggest factor without a doubt is that the roster is full of Nintendo (and then some) characters which also happen to be some of the biggest icons in the gaming industry. Characters like Ryu, Jin, or Sol Badguy don't have that kind of iconic status about them like the Nintendo characters.
Cross over games don't do that well. None of the VS games, save MvC3 made over a million. MvC barley did it.
Street Fighter 2 MADE THE GENRE witht hose characters.

A game selling as much as Melee or Brawl is rare, especially if it's a third party game. Most developers would sell their souls to have that many sales. To expect other games to do that, even by adopting the mechanics of successful games, is foolish.
Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy 7-10 and 12, Metal Gear Solid, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft. You name it, there have been third party games that have sold better than Nintendo one, Street Fighter 2 did better than the first game in 1993 or so.

And one more thing. A master CAN learn from a beginner. That beginner could stumble onto something the master was not aware of and could change everything. Then, in fighting games in particular, the beginner can have an unprecedented playstyle full of potential.
Oh God, don't make me laugh. Your counter argument is potential. Potential has to be realized first. Still doesn't change the fact: Are you looking at other fighting game players to get better or are they look at you?

BTW, this was done very quickly. More reason why I say Kuma could never convince me.

I think USB controllers will be considered the standard.

Unless the game is changed where there is only walking and running (no tip toeing) and C-Sticking is gone, I would be surprised to see arcade sticks gaining prominence (though it'd be freaking awesome).

Hello, I just posted an article published today which containds tid bits of Smash Bros. news? You know, actual information beyond simple speculation?

I agree with Steam, it sounds as though we will be seeing very few cuts or a more prominent focus on the smaller series.

In honor of another epic SmashChu Vs. KumaOso showdown.

Round 1, Fight!
The reason I "Never changed," was because Kuma never had a strong argument. Like I said, it was emotional driven. basically, the conclusion came first.
It's one thing for me to not have a strong argument, it's another for you to completely ignore everything anyone ever tells you when you're wrong.

Cross over games don't do that well. None of the VS games, save MvC3 made over a million. MvC barley did it.
Street Fighter 2 MADE THE GENRE witht hose characters.
Why pull out SF2 as an example? At the time it came out, SF2 was like no other game.

New type of game + deep gameplay + lack of competing games in the same genre = high sales. You can even apply this to Smash Bros as there are not that many games of its type, and even then, most of them aren't all that great.

Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy 7-10 and 12, Metal Gear Solid, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft. You name it, there have been third party games that have sold better than Nintendo one, Street Fighter 2 did better than the first game in 1993 or so.
Of course there are third party games that have sold as much (if not more) as Nintendo games. I even acknowledged this. The thing you're ignoring is that I said is that it's rare to achieve those sales, and when you do have high selling games, they tend to be parts of a series of games. Those games you mentioned, sans WOW, are part of big name series, especially Final Fantasy and Call of Duty. Sure, we may have a big seller or two every year, but in the grand scheme of things, those games constitute a tiny, tiny portion of the software library.

Oh God, don't make me laugh. Your counter argument is potential. Potential has to be realized first.
I thought it was painfully clear that the potential has to be realized. I could've written up a scenario for realized potential, and knowing you, you'd still be same old, same old.

Still doesn't change the fact: Are you looking at other fighting game players to get better or are they look at you?
I only look at other players, of all skill levels, to create a base for my playstyle and catch holes in strategies I may not otherwise notice. I don't know if the top players have ever looked at me for a new idea or anything, but that's irrelevant. You take information in where ever you find it, period.

That article? it's boring, not interested unless it pertains to actual characters.

Edit: oh yes, the showdown has begun!
