NEW AT Short Hop Inhale Thickening

last night Mars and I were playing on wifi and I randomed kirby and he randomed mk on sv and i fell through the platform and buffered a SH inhale and for some reason I inhaled him from on the moving platform while he was standing on the ground... it was huuuuge inhale distance well beyond the normal amount for kirby so we kept experimenting until i could do it consistently we tested it on the whole cast the only chars it doesnt work on are the ones with really low crouches like kirby and squirtle. (because of crouching... standing it still works).

its a garunteed 100% safe inhale attempt and sometimes causes them to fall through the body of the stage, havent been able to figure out what determines that but i will post when i figure it out.

only tested on sv, not sure bout other stages and platforms yet.

Sounds very interesting. You should post a video of it, if possible, to show it in action. Info like this gives Kirby mains the potential (though seemingly a bit situational) to have overall good matchups on this stage. Does it work on other stages, or have you not figured that out yet?

i figured out why it makes them fall through the stage sometimes, its because they get pulled into the falling into kirbys mouth animation from too far from kirbys body and that animation makes everyone intangible to the stage for some reason.

its alot easier to do that on smaller characters and spacies than on say bowser or dk.

Can be a little more clear on your explanation? I was trying to replicate it but I don't know what you're doing. How can you buffer a short hop out of a fall through? That doesn't make sense.

So drop through platform > inhale > land on the same platform = huge range. In that case, I'll bet that this only works on moving platforms (SV, YI, LC). Good to know though.

It's really gay. He keeps camping on platforms against my MK. I don't have anything that can outrange it and he's somehow figured out how to make it work on stages like BF and Frigate. I used to 2 stock his Kirby but now I can't even touch him.

I'm considering banning the technique in our state.

tested for d3... its alot hard but maybe thats because inhales timings are different between the two? :/ it doesnt work on not moving platforms for him, but it gets alot thicker than kirbys does... like ALOT thicker, it makes sv like a garunteed gimp on pretty much anyone if the platform happens to moving offstage.
