I've got some!

Ness for Brawl! Not all hope is lost. Sakurai could have changed his mind in deciding that Lucas replaced Ness. I don't see why we can't have them both.

Harry does deserve some praise however most of what he got into he never would of been able to figure it out without Hermoine, so she deserves respect. With Earthbound the story was so centered around Ness I often wondered why? Just because he was the chosen one(-.- I guess so) And it is a fact that without Paula; Ness and co would of never won that fight.

Weren't Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo the Chosen Four?

Everybody knows that Lucas was going to replace ness in melee but they didn't cause they where running out of time and kept ness
Just from knowing that you could see from space that ness wasn't coming back for brawl

Yes... but that was like what, 6 years ago? Who's to say that Sakurai didn't change his mind?

True. Still, it's strange that he was profiled before Ness. Then again, the updates are so random that even Sakurai questioned why it took Meta Knight so long to be put up.

I think Ness can work as a alt. along with Ninten. We could then have Lucas, Claus(so the babies can shut up.), and Kumatora.

Good point but if that’s the case it could have just been about any earthbound character with PSI powers
And plus from the picture’s of Lucas I have seen so far his attacks look very similar to ness’s and from what I’m hearing there trying to keep clones out

Now hear me out I could be completely wrong and It’s not like I don’t want ness in it it’s just I don’t see the big deal if they did replace ness with somebody who’s almost exactly identical and if they can find a way to put both in that great it’s just there are only so many PSI powers to give

Perhaps I'm not attentive enough (I don't play Ness that much.), but this move doesn't look like one of Ness's to me.

If it's coming out of his hand it's going to have an different effect.

He needs a new neutral B. That thing was like...bad.

Are you sure? Looks kind of like his down b just coming out of his hand
It could just be a nicer-looking/more-brawl-oriented version of his Fair.

His neutral B is better than his down b. That moves is beyond bad. Flash can kill...and that's valuable to Ness...in a small way.

I really hope Sakurai does the right thing...and includes ROBO-NESS.

I mean SERIOUSLY....it's sooo obvious.

I found Ness's ^B to be his worst move. PK Flash can be used for edgeguarding ^_^

Up B is pretty essential to Ness' game.

The much discussed picture of Lucas is definitely not any move that Ness specifically has in Melee. It most closely resembles PSI Magnet, although not covering all of Lucas' body.

It's definitely electric in nature. I personally think it's a projectile due to the fact that Lucas appears to be aiming. (have I already said that in this topic?)

If it is a hand held PSI Magnet...could it then possibly be even worse than Ness' PSI Magnet??

God I hope it's not PSI Magnet...there are SO MANY better moves!

Man, I was really hoping today's update would be Lucas special moves. I wanna see some PK Love.

Your point? It's a photoshop. Sakurai could just slap Ness's name on Lucas's alt.

-Knight
I don't care about the photoshop...

...and I highly doubt if Ness was an alt they would change the text and the voices to say Ness...they even could but I doubt it

I said Sakurai could...most likely that wouldn't happen. I mean a simple photoshop shows that Ness could be alt of Lucas considering how similar they look.(Not to mention how similar there moves are in their respective games.)

Oh well w/e

Ness is one of the originals. I really hope that they don't simply replace him with Lucas. Lucas DOES look pretty cool, but I'm hoping that he will be a completely different character form Ness. Ness will return a fixed character. Lucas will be Earthbound's second rep. Just cause they look alike doesn't mean Lucas is a replacement.

Lol yea I love Ness, Earthbound is probably my favorite game ever, my only real problem with him being replaced by Lucas is nintendo hasn't brought over Mother 3. Iwaited a very long time for that game. But any how hopefully he will return and maybe some other Earthbound characters too! *crosses fingers* hehe.

you won't buy the game for one character??

.............:dizzy:

................your loss.
Not to mention one character who is essentially reincarnated in a new form...

I really cannot understand how one can still miss Ness if Lucas replaces him... nothing against Ness, but it's not like he has much of a personality you could miss, and if you haven't played Mother 3, go and inform yourself about it. If you don't feel like doing that, what are you doing being a fan of a Mother character in the first place?

QFT. Lucas has much more personality than Ness, a character who doesn't even talk.

When is the last time we heard Link or Mario actually have a conversation? I mean, none of these characters are known having strong personalities.

They still have personality. Link looks surprised, scared, angry, sad. Same thing with Mario. Ness has the same expression. Always. He wouldn't be able to beat Giygas without Paula. In Earthbound, he was arguably the least important character in your party. In Mother 3, Lucas is THE PARTY. He is one of the strongest in the party. Ness < Lucas.

You make a decent point, but Mario and Link are icons. They're the faces of their respective series. Even without talking, they're SO important to their franchises (and, additionally, those franchises are SO popular) that they get away with it.

Ness was in one Mother game. He's no more iconic or important to his franchise than Lucas is, and has less personality.

That doesn't mean Ness is gone, nor that he should be. It's just reason enough to wonder why anyone actually likes him better than Lucas, and would even go as far as to not buy Brawl if he were absent. Doesn't make sense to me.

If he is a playable character, he'll either be one of (if not) the strongest; that is, if Lucas isn't in it.

Ok. I can see that, but I still think all of the originals (N64) should return. Lucas isn't necessarily going to "be" Ness.
