bomb resets are the gay. double bomb on shield to dair shieldpressure is the other gay. and as i've said before, SWD to reverse extender is the booty ****.

Ugh, not to sound like a ****, but the only Samus player that can consistently SWD is phanna, and I'm 100% certain he spent more time learning to do that than he did beating people that are actually good.
SWD is a bad move that is totally telegraphed every time. Double Bomb -> dair on shield is not as good as wavebomb -> jab on shield.
If you want to actually get ****ed with by a Samus main in a way that means anything to the actual game of Melee, go play HugS.

Believe it or not, more than one person is good with Samus.
IHSB and Plup, for example, have some really impressive wins and HIGHLY regarded by top players.
Phanna is a legendary player and knows more about Samus and that
game (several years) than most people will ever consider. Respect your roots, boy.

Oh I fully realize there are several good Samus players out there. And Phanna's research has done much to advance the Samus metagame. My point was, and this is important, that you should never confuse flashiness with solid play. Anyone goes gaga over the super wavedash will get this same rant from me, every time, because it's important.
As to respecting my roots, I have plenty of respect for players like Oro and Wes. I have no idea what you're talking about.

SWD is very simple muscle memory, just like my wavelands are. it's not the SWD's that make him good; it's the way he uses things. his missile spacing is good, he knows how to do a lot of different things with bombs, spacing, ccing, and other typical samus things. just cause he does more than wavedash ftilt doesn't make him a flashy ineffective samus. don't confuse technical prowess with unnecessary mobility. The guy is legit.
edit: unless you're just implying that i can't see skill and was just ogling over his SWD's. since you haven't seen or played me in a long time, i guess that's almost reasonable.

I like how you seem to think I have a very one-dimensional view of Samus, Chris. Maybe you're right. Maybe I don't know a thing about how Samus is played. I've only been playing her for eleven years, so I guess there's a lot for me to learn.
