I implied that you don't RESPECT anything outside of wd ftilt. Since you think hugs is THE MAN, I figured I wasn't all that far from the truth.
If this is your opinion in a nutshell, then I know you're just talking mess. HugS does so much more than wd ftilt. We're talking platform wavebomb, cc jab pressure into accurate reads, pivot fsmash, dj reads into raw charge shot... I could go on and on. He even pioneered the fake ledge hop. Those are the kinds of things I respect. I really hope that you can see these things, because they're kinda big parts of Samus's game.

I happen to be of the opinion that flashy isn't interesting. Consistently working into someone's head is interesting. In this light, HugS is one of the most interesting players I've ever seen. You just have to be in the mindset of not looking for combos, or moves that have two frame execution windows, or whatnot. I'm looking for the way the player manipulates the opponent with the tools they have. In a game where you shouldn't be relying on the opponent's ignorance of a particular tool, you have to rely on their inability to know which tool you're going to use, and your ability to know what tool they're going to use.

It's important to note I don't think phanna is a bad Samus. I just think that nostalgia, hype, and not actually having been there have blown up his image in other people's minds. He was a helpful member of the Samus boards, and anyone would say he was the most technical Samus. But very few Sami in the know listed him among the top five. Now, maybe phanna's gotten better since I last saw a video of him, or saw his results in tournament. I don't know. Like you say, I haven't played him. But I do know, that if he has gotten, SWD tricks and double bombs aren't what made him better, because he always did those--it was learning how to do the above more effectively.

Think of phanna like you think of Silent Wolf. The rest flows from there.

This video is interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rjlc1k2qxs0

If you don't think so, you should watch it until you do.

You talk as though chris said Phanna was the best samus in the world when all he really did initially was describe some techniques that he liked and was pretty hype about it. No matter what way you put it, SWD reverse extender is ****, no matter how impractical it may be. Even still IHSB is a pretty flashy samus and is really good and makes effective use of certain things in a flashy manner at times as well. Its like you want to down play his skill because of his style. Florida is known for being flashy but they are still solid

And you talk like I said phanna was a scrub. All I did was say he wasted time learning to SWD when he could have gone out and fought his way into people's top 3 Samus main lists with substantial wins under his belt. My point was, it's nothing to get hype about.

IHSB does some pretty cool ****. But he's also solid, make no mistake. And he has solid wins, too. So it doesn't matter if he's a porn star or a drug dealer.

so...ur mad cuz phanna took time to advance his game technically instead of mentally.

yeah, you clearly haven't played the guy. The pat of this game I enjoy is the mental part. That's why I wouldn't mind playing against you with almost any haracter; cause picking apart ur habits would entertain me to no end. I don't see how increasing ones options is a waste of time and effort, especially for a mid tier character known for low mobility and reliance on crouch canceling. His ability to follow up his own fsmashes and dsmashes is both useful and unparalleled as a samus. If he has an edgeguard to get to, he will send a missile and then get there as it does. Yes, I fangasmed cause I'd never seen it before. Sure didn't see that kind of coverage from you, and jmh would also just...run over and get there if he can.

so uh...stay slow, other sami.

jmh ***** tho. When that guy is patient, it is hard to get in. Once he knows how to rlly missile cancel on every stage and platform, it'll be rlly hard to get in...cuz that's my other problem vs phanna lol.

I like being creative with movement subltely in this game and creating openings. I think the mental aspect has kept me playing this game even with the downside of having no comp while I'm in school.

The movement options are so intense. There are so many ways to create openings with a bit of creativity. Melee is really something else and some how it still has more room to grow
