Number One, I Heard This Tournament Started At Night Time On A Saturday Night In Which The Venue Closes Like At 11pm Or After..... Then Sunday Which Is Feb 08, 09 Didn't Even Get To End Inside... but it ended With The Cops Escorting Chibo Out The Venue And No One Knows Where He Is At. Even If Somehow They Continue This, Look At The Time. he either took the money for himself or left it with alex strife in which i hope for alex to finish the job which he not even getting paid for.

It's 10:55pm And People Are Either Under The Age Of 18 Or Have Work Tomorrow. Why Should People Travel Only To Enter An Unfinished Tournament Even If They Already Lost. It's About Doing Your Job And Getting The Job Done. So The Top Players Don't Even Get Their Money And If They Do....... I Heard They Not Getting The Same Amount.


This Is Not The First Nor The Sixth Time I Heard Nonsense About This. Why Do I Feel People Throw Tournaments Only To Have It As A Quick Scam To Make Money And Not Care For Their Players? Back In The Melee Days I Stop Traveling Cause Of Stuff Like This. Why Post Up, We Will Have 40 Tvs And Have 27? Why Promise 10,000 Dollars Overall In The Pot And Can't Even Give Out More Than 3,000 Dollars Altogether? Brawl Had Already 3 Incidents Outta State That People Got Bend Over.


I Ain't The Best T.o, But I Don't Ever Bend Over People. I Also Don't Hand Out [broken Promises]. This Just Seems To Happen Alot And I Would Honestly Be In Jail For Hitting Someone. PLANKING AS THEY CALL IT. SHOULD THIS METHOD BE PENALIZE TO THE POINT YOU JUST LOSE THE SET? DOES THIS COUNT AS REAL SKILL CONSIDERING THE PACE OF THE GAME?

NOW I UNDERSTAND WHAT WES MEANS ABOUT THIS COMMUNITY TURNING THIS INTO STREET FIGHTER. YEA THEIR ARE STAGES WITH NO HAZZARDS.... BUT THE OVERALL GAME IS ABOUT YOUR SURROUNDINGS AND USING THEM AS TACTICS AGAINST YOUR OPPONENT OR TO BENEFIT YOU SOMEHOW. WHY IS STAGES OUT? WHY IS RULES CHANGING EVERY TOURNAMENT THAT PLAYERS CAN'T ADJUST TO? THIS GAME WAS MEANT TO BE DIFFERENT FROM YOUR USUAL FIGHTER, WHY DO PEOPLE TRY TO MAKE THIS A GAME IT IS NOT? BECAUSE ITS MORE SIMPLE WITH A JUMP, SHIELD, BASIC ATTACK AND SPECIAL ATTACK.... COMPARE TO GAMES SUCH AS STREET FIGHTER WHICH REQUIRE MOTION ATTACKS AND 6 BUTTON LAYOUT?


I BELIEVE VIDEOGAME TOURNAMENTS CAN BE TO THE POINT THAT IT IS TELEVISED ON TELEVISION. YOU KNOW WHY IT WON'T? LET ME EXPLAIN WHY.

ONCE THEY SEE THINGS DON'T GO RIGHT, THEY KICK YOU TO THE CURB WITHOUT TRYING TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM. ALSO SUCH AS A TOURNAMENT I WENT TO A BIT AGO WHICH I WON'T MENTION, A GUY HOST AND FIXES THE BRACKET TO MAKE IT ALL THE HARD PEOPLE FIGHT EACH OTHER AND HE MAKES IT THOUGH OK.... REASON BEING SO HE CAN MAKE MONEY.

NOW IF YOU HAVE MONEY ISSUES AND I KNOW THE ECONOMY IS TERRIBLE..... BUT NO EXCUSE TO USE OTHER PEOPLE TO MAKE MONEY FOR YOURSELF. EITHER GET A JOB, GET BETTER IN THE GAME OR AS DJ WOULD SAY.... BRAWL AS WE KNOW IS GOOD/REAL STUPID. TRIPPING IS THE MOST STUPIDEST THING THAT WAS EVER MADE LITERALLY. IN HUGE TOURNAMENT THAT WAS ANNOUNCE TWO MONTHS....... SHOULD HAVE NO TRIPPING ON WHAT SO EVER. A TRULY SKILLED PLAYER CAN LOSE TO SOMETHING AS DUMB AS TRIPPING. ALL TOURNAMENTS SHOULD HAVE THAT FEATURE OUT.


I'M NOT THE BEST HOST, BUT I WANT TO DO BIG THINGS FOR GAMING COMMUNITY PERIOD. PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP. STOP USING OTHER PEOPLE'S VENUE AND TRY TO GET YOUR OWN. bum is the ****ing man. this tourney sucked *** and all his points are valid.

brawl however is a game where there is basically no such thing as "****;" 3 stocks are non existant as the game is either camp or trade hit for hit, or get ***** by noobs who picked up the game a week ago who resort to either chaingrabbing with falco or spamming tornado with metaknight. the thing different about this fighter different from all other games is that it was specifically designed NOT to suit competitive play. melee and SSB64 were NOT designed to be competitive; but brawl actually has noticable programming done to it to prevent it from being competitive.

the airdodging system, the lack of hitstun, tripping... the list goes on. it is basically a top tier-exclusive game with very few exceptions, and mindgames can only get a low tier so far. yes i am furious captain falcon got nerfed, but that is not why i write this. i write this because all the brawl noobs never even gave melee a chance. you guys are only losing out on an amazing game that has provided me and many others with many memories. a game where practice actually showed, and every winner deserved to win. i'm seeing the melee term "no johns" being used wayyyy more often now that brawl is around. seriously this game is full of crap and ssbm needs to be given a chance.

my english/typing is pretty bad, but you get what i'm saying lol. anyway people need to come up with a plan to get a place of your own and throw tournaments in that way. also these constant change of rules need to come to an end. one stage be on for a tournament and then the next tournament it's off, along with a strike every stage till ya have one left. people get confused and you only make your tournament longer cause it makes people think hard on what to do.


we should try our best as a community to resolve this issue and come up with at least three solid different rules and just apply them. right now brawl has like 7 different rules and bans i can say i been though. also it messes up matches when a stage wasn't even on, yet the player didn't know cause of the many different rules brawl has.... i know i'm not the only one that witnessed this.


we also need to talk to mlg and evo and let them know that we want our games in their lineup. this local stuff is cool, but this game needs to be pickup and taken more serious.

Very well said Bum and I feel the same way about this topic all the d*mn time. I was in a doubles tournament match Saturday with Alukard as my teammate. I believe the set was 1-0 with us losing. Alukard dies and its just me with my last stock left, while the other team left and they each have a stock left. I believe I was Lucario. So I'm fighting and I kill one of the dudes. I'm more heavily damaged than my remaining opponent but its kinda good since I'm Lucario. Then I move quickly to the right side of Smashville to run away of an attack that would've killed me. I escaped the attack and since I'm constantly thinking about mindgames all the time, I came up with a quick counter-strategy against my opponent while missing his attack that would've most likely worked on him. Then you know what happens? I f*cking trip of the very right side of the stage and my opponent takes advantage and kills me. Tell me how stupid is that?

I know Brawl has alot of stupid sh*t that happens and people think I dislike/hate the game. I like the game, but just in teams. At least in teams its fun and a person doesn't have to experience as much gay or boring stuff that happens in singles. Although as I've told many of you in person and while I was commentating on live stream during CoT4, I wanna get into Brawl seriously, even for singles. I say this because I believe I can be one of the best players in the world. I'm gonna have to go to Bum and my other SWAT members for training. I barely know anything about Brawl and don't even play the game. I'm just an OD smart player.

So yeah, the community definitely needs to shape up though since they're players who piss me off and are messing up the cool environment.

chibo i said on top this is not pointing the fingers. this is to alot of people and venues period. the only thing i can honestly say is that

number one- posting up a thread about a big tournament and not having enough equipment is bad on your part. you should know this is going to be huge.

number two- you came extremely late...... why is that? 6 hours late... if this was a real job or you was working for someone famous, you would of been fired on the spot. plus you didn't even finish the tournament inside the venue. this was finished in your house i believe... am i correct?

number three- i am right about owners and venues. they don't care in which is why they did what they did. its about money. not caring about ya. if so why did they take it to the extreme? store hours is store hours which i agree on that, but either it went like this.

you promise to finished the tournament within a time limit and failed in which cause the rent a cops to come though.

they promise you that you can have as much time and when you least expected it, he lied and shut down the tournament.

to me it's like this, what if things took longer and there was alot more people? you had people go to your house to finish a tournament. people expected it to finish faster. it's unfair. why i say that? look at anti. made it to quarter finals and had to leave cause you came 6 hours late on saturday. those six hours could of apply to matches and maybe he had a shot at winner finals. also people had work and school or just something else to do the next day. you also got paid money for doing this. getting paid should had you more on the professional level. these are the problems i have, but if you read everything correctly.......

Hax, practice does show in Brawl I don't care what anyone says, but yes I will admit that it is less consistent as Melee. And I don't recommend playing this game just to try to win money, there's much easier ways of doing so even for someone your age. If you don't like the game you don't have to play it. But hey you can do whatever you want to.

There are 3 stocks and comebacks in this game though. For COT4, Spam's a good example for both of these. (even though he's also a brawl hater himself lol). Spam got 3 stocked by Dojo, (but beat him in the set). As for comebacks he took 3 stocks off of Inui and Atomsk in teams 2 vs 1.

A lot of times it can be boring, and it usually isn't as entertaining and fast paced as Melee you're right about that. It depends on the match ups and who is playing them. There are things that have happened in tourney where everyone got really hyped.

The game is still highly skill based, and winning is often dependent on making good reads on people. It's slower, but very strategic at high level play. I actually do like faster gameplay a lot better though and I'd like to also get back into Melee. I just don't have anyone that I could practice it with really now.

I agree with pretty much everything most people have already said. With all these different rulesets in different tournaments, it's very difficult to form a basic sense of what's legal and what's banned. I often find myself in the middle of a tournament asking myself "wait... is this stage legal here? Or what about this one?" During certain matches, people can also become wary of in-game issues like stalling, infinites and such. In one tournament, those are banned, and the next tournament you go to... they're allowed. And when you try to report the player for using said tactic, the T.O. responds with "That's legal; find a way around it." Things like that are just... plain dumb and unnecessary.

I think if Brawl is to ever be recognized as a viably competitive game, rulesets must be consistent within tournaments.

... That, and the tournaments we hold must be held with a certain degree of professionalism. Who knows if an agent from MLG/EVO, interested in using Brawl as one of its official games, was watching the stream of CoT4? That could have put a big dent right there on Brawl's chances of progress.

i pretty much worded what i was trying to say wrong. practice makes a difference, but this game still has stupid inconsistent placings such as azen placing tenth. also there's the weird instances like me where without playing the game or watching videos at all, everyone says i've gotten better. the last time i played brawl falcon was ages before this tourney (other than like 3 matches at this kid's house in brooklyn). in melee none of that **** happens. in melee if you get ***** one day you got ***** for a reason. and ****nn people need to stop acting like there's NOBODY in nyc who plays melee. idk about the rest of swat but i'll train people as long as they promise to pass on my advice to other brawl noobs.

Just like Bum always advertises, I'm always down to train people in Melee when I have the time. When I train, its like I'm Kakashi or Jiraiya training Naruto (you'll know if you watch Naruto). Mindgame & Defensive Training Sessions is what I provide. Lite is someone whom I try to train as much as I can when I see him at a tournament. He's gotten better because of the lil training sessions I have with him during tourneys and his quick learning curve.

I don't wanna hear the bullsh*t about people saying its too late to get into Melee or practice, blah blah blah. They are players who have the potential to be amazing at Melee if they're in the right hands, go to a good amount of tournaments to gain experience, and it also depends on their learning curves & adaptation. Some people were meant for Melee, some for Brawl, some for both, or some for neither. Its not like Melee is going to die next week or anytime soon.

The reason why I'm pissed off all the time is because of all the negativity I receive in my life. I also get pissed off easily over dumb sh*t just like my pops, since I got his genes. So please, spare me the negativity.

Your right, tournament hosts are taking advantage of these kids so they can make money. and becuz its been happening so often lately, I WON'T LIE, I even considered doing the same just to make a quick buck, but then I said to myself. Wait a minute, no way im gonna con a bunch of kids out of their money in a game. that's just devilish, no matter how bad things are w/ the economy I still have my morals. MLG/EVO is the right way to go.

Im sorry you were still in your mother's womb when melee came out but in case you didnt know...it wuz definitely given its spotlight. And from the looks of it, brawl is TRYING TO SURVIVE ITS 1ST YEAR OF EXISTENCE. hahahaha. I dont think brawl will make it as long as Melee did. But honestly Hax, I really think you should stop trying to REBUILD the Melee community. I know you love the game, dude believe me. Even I play the game from time to time and it is fun, but it had its time already. And its over. I dont care what you say, Brawl CAN BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, but in order to do that, the community has to come together as a whole and BAN all the CHEAP $H1T in the game. whats sad to me is that sum1 like Wes, took all his skill and put it on display at the tournament this weekend. Dude was ON FIRE. And do you know what he lost too?? ICE CLIMBERS CHAIN GRAB. how GARBAGE IS THAT! when wes counter picked him w/ marth on Rainbow cruise, the kid picked METAKNIGHT. AND this here proves HOW BAD THIS KID IS. he got *****. if your metaknight and you lose, then you know your opponent was EXPONENTIALLY BETTER THAN YOU. AND u just need to put your controller down and go think about just how bad you are, and think twice about laughing when beating sum1 or talking $H1t to some1 b4 u get slapped.

WHEN I pick ganon I pick stages w/ water, so that i can get them in the water and spike them once their in there. or using lava as well. those are true smash strategies. Brawl is cheap T_T. MK<Banned. I think the only reason it was on at Cot4 is so no1 messes with the percentage for Lightsabers, Stitchs, 9 hammers, and Gordoes, i think some of them were changed reguardless after taking out THAT MANY GORDOES especially against boss and seeing Dire do what i did on another wii 3,7,9 like 5 times.

Bum I got my money and the tourney finished at like 4 AM at Chibo's room with only 1-2 TVs

the main result of the tourney not ending in time was the first day not starting until 5 or 6 PM and the lack of set ups and the lack of people listening to chibo and getting their matches done is the 3rd reason.

Also chibo wasn't 6 hours late to the venue he just took 6 hours to make pools cause he had to do it by hand or something.

No he didn't. He CHOSE not to do it on TIO, which is the best thing out there as of now imo.
