I'm glad I gave this show a chance.
After starting college, breaking up with my girlfriend after two years of dating, constantly worrying about my future and trying to get over all the emotional/mental stress, I've tried to find distractions or escapes in order to cope which always led to a ton of regrets and mistakes.
When I watch this show, I feel like I'm ten years old again. I stopped worrying about everything around me, and just enjoyed the show for what it was once I got really into it. I completely forgot all of my troubles for about 20 minutes and it was great, and when an episode ended, I didn't get a "snap back into a ****ty reality" feeling like I did with everything else, I felt fine.

The reason this show appeals to both sexes is because Lauren Faust sought to make it more like a normal cartoon rather than a typical girly cartoon in which the most peril the main characters are met with is not having enough money for that pretty pair of shoes they've had their eye on. The characters actually have individual personalities, whereas the characters in a typical girly show are either completely interchangeable or practically interchangeable. Anything overly girly in this show is the result of executive meddling.

Episodes 1 and 2 are probably the weakest (and corniest) of the whole series but I guess they're a good intro to the world of ponies and all that jazz.

Welp. Using Sonic makes Rainbow Dash rather appropriate.

Renard kind of freaks me out tbh...it's mostly how he never stops playing up that he's a furry. I like his music, but I mean, if he were like "oh and also I am a furry" in his profile I wouldn't give it a second thought but he has to somehow remind us that his fursona is some kind of woodland fox in everything he does.
Difference of opinion I suppose. On that note, what do you think is the most epic moment of the show? I thought Fluttershy standing up to the dragon is easily up there.
