Maybe you're right. I play a character that pulls vegetables and explosives out of her *****, it's possible that this has increased my tolerance for this sort of thing.

Totally on board with the soundtrack. It'd be cool if they extended some of the songs used just as show ambiance too. For example, episode one when Twilight is running to her house. I really dig the tune playing there and wish it was longer. :<

If you watch just the first episodes and take you're opinion off of that, I could understand how you wouldn't like the show. All good shows take a little while to get going. Having jumped to some of the later episodes, I think it's actually quite witty, and wit has always been the benchmark of good cartoons. I think most people won't give it a fair shake because they think of the 80's My Little Pony show( now that was just for little girls), which is really quite a shame. Although it's not my favorite, I will give it the prestigious:

It has amazing character development.
Awesome potential to be good with the right director.

It has appealing to almost all ages content.
It has cultural references.

It has adventure, it has drama, it has humor, and it turns something like the
My Little Pony franchise, into one epically good cartoon and that alone is
an amazing accomplishment. Ponies do not equal automatic bad, I bet Lauren could take
the Barbie franchise (trust me that would be even harder then My Little Pony) and make it
good show that would have a large following of teenage males that truly non jokingly like the show.
