*1st let me note that i stole this thread from srk boards, thanks to deathreaper47 for making it.*

Sometimes you reach a section of a video game you really like that is so boring or so bad, that you almost decide to stop playing it altogether. I can think of a few.

Persona 4- Everytime you have to gather info or just end up talking period. WAY to much talking and dragging on.

FF7- When you arrive to the town of Kalm and Cloud starts talking about Sephiroth, and when you are in the lifestream with Tifa

Sonic 3&K- Sandolopis stage, nuff said.

Any RPG where i soon find out its a grindfest game >_>

FFX- Going through the Trials to get the summons

I can't think of any more right now, but if i do ill post again.

ff8, when seifer goes with edea in timber and everyone gets all depressed because they think hes probably dead. jeeze that part was a buzzkill

also the start of any pokemon game cause all you can do is grind level 3 bugs by spamming tackle over and over

The legend of Zelda OoT: The water temple was the most boring moment in the entire game. Alltough i liked the fight against Dark Link, but everything else were dull and annoying.

I'd say Victory Road in any Pokemon game. I shouldn't have to fight more Pokemon between the last gym and the Elite Four. Also, The Elite Four themselves make me want to hurt things.

This is pretty generalized, but I hate ridiculously long or aggravating dungeons. Like the Samsara Tunnels in Digital Devil Saga, or the temple of the Ocean King in Phantom Hourglass. I also really dislike unintuitive games. I should always have a general idea what to do. Not necessarily an objective, but just an idea of where to explore or what I'm supposed to achieve.

Also, Persona 4 wins hands-down for having the most boring intro of a game. It takes three or four hours for that game to get started, let alone interesting.

The Triforce hunt in Wind Waker. That game is amazing but that stretch almost ruins it.

i thought that was pretty good, you just sound impatient
Im far from impatient, those parts are just long and boring. Maybe ok to get through for someone playing through the first time, but def not for me who has beaten it a lot. I just sit there and press O..

I still haven't done that part... Not even once.

I used Action Replay to get the Triforce shards, just to see the rest of the game. (This was done on an alternate save file, just like all my cheat gaming. So yes, the file I created when I first got WW is still uncleared.)

I originally stopped playing the game because of that.

It really is the worst decision a developer has ever made.

I actually found the Triforce hunt in WW to be fun, but that's just me.

I'd say one of the most boring parts is in LoZ WW. The beginning of the game, whether it shows the story to how this game started it takes FOREVER. ANd those of you that say the triforce hunt almost ruined it, It actually seemed like one of the shortest parts in the game to me. But eh, i guess everyone plays differently.

Doesn't a character give you the option for Cloud to stop telling the story? Does it actually stop that part? I never tried.

Majora's Mask- The cave full of Gibdos who are blocking doors. You have to wear the Gibdo mask and talk to them, and each one asks for something specific before they let you through. Not so bad, except one of them wants Hot Spring Water. there's a hot spring somewhere in the cave but it's pretty far away from the Gibdo who needs it. So you have to bottle the water, and haul *** to make sure you get it to the Gibdo before it turns into regular water. That part made me so mad. And turns out that that Gibdo isn't even blocking anything special.

Twilight Princess- The first two hours or so of the game really REALLY suck. It's basically an extended tutorial and the very basics/controls of the game, forcing you to do a bunch of stupid crap before you even get into the main game. Sorry, but it's not very fun herding goats, catching fish for cats, collecting bugs. Worst of all, I HATE HATE HATE being forced to be Wolf Link.

Final Fantasy 8- The plot twist in disc 3 (I think) where all the main characters find out
that they ALL grew up together, in an orphanage run by, guess who, the main antagonist of the game. And NOBODY remembered this? Nobody recognized that basically their entire line of childhood friends came together years later by chance?
. Bah, I'd hardly argue that FF8 was a good game anyways.

Super Mario Bros. 3 World 7.

Mario Galaxy - That star where you have to blow up a bunch of heaps of garbage in like 5 seconds.

Silent Hill 2 There's a scripted scene where Pyramid Head appears behind you and your escort girl, and you have to run down a bunch of hallways with him right behind you. Now, while this is one of the scariest parts of the game, on Hard difficulty it's literally impossible. The girl does not run fast enough. I had to restart on Normal difficulty and play through all the way to that part.

Silent Hill 3- lol. here's another scripted sequence where you are walking through a Funhouse hallway, and this glowing red light appears. If it covers your character completely you're dead. So you have to again run down a bunch of halls. Only thing is every time you come to a corner, the camera angle changes, OR a wall suddenly appears right in front of you. You only have literally 1 second of leeway before you're dead. This isn't as impossible as SH2 but still freakin annoying. Then when you die you have to go through the entire funhouse over again.

i agree with these two.

custom robo (gc)- after you beat the main story and then there is the grand challenge. it was fun until the lab tournaments where it turned to 1v2 bull**** and the game became way ****tier.

sonic adventure 2- knux' and rouge's levels (mostly their last two). i didn't mind the searching levels in 1. it shouldn't take 2+ hours to finish a sonic level. **** you space searching levels. and hearing "AY YO IT YO MAIN MAN KNUCKLES. AND WE IN MAD SPACE. ARE YOU READY? HELP ME FIND DA EMERALDS" didn't help at all.

unlocking characters in fighters- boring and reptitve.

Stone Tower in Majora's Mask. Just getting to the place is a pain in the *** because of the cave with the Gibdos. Then you have to go through the Ancient Castle of Ikana, fight Igos du Ikana to learn the Elegy of Emptiness, and actually climb Stone Tower. When I played Majora's Mask, I dreaded having to go through that.

Another boring part of Majora's Mask was getting into the Great Bay Temple when you had to get the eggs back from the pirates. You had to talk to the guy in the shop, go get a picture of the pirates, take it to the guy to get the seahorse, take the seahorse to the murky water, defeat the eels to save the other seahorse, and go through the pirates' fortress to get the rest of the eggs. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Majora's Mask, but some of the stuff you have to do to get through the game was just tedious.

Water temple in Majoras mask was waaaay tougher than OoT in my opinion. That game was off the charts good though.

GTA:All of them start off really boring. It's not until you unlock the whole city that it gets interesting.

I cant really think of too many games I didn't enjoy thoroughly.Ill post again of I think of one.

I hate gathering information for your next assasination in assasins creed. It is so annoying and tedious that they make you go hunt the information yourself. Thats why I stopped playing it.

I could say victory road in every pokemon game after the second gen and on (yeah the first one was pretty easy if you knew where the boulders go). I do not see the point of having to go through that.

I hate to say this but: The Subspace Emmassary. The Great Maze level is so ****ing annoying I stopped the story altogether tired of having to go from boss to boss annoying the **** out of me.

Surface Tension in Half-Life.

The looooooooongest chapter in the game and for good reason by being the hardest.

Twice you get chased by a chopper, 3 sections involving landmine fields, 2 rooms covered in laser tripmines, AND when you think its over, a Gargantua chases you around a missile-firing control panel, where you have to blow up some walls to reach the underground of Black Mesa, starting the next chapter.

There was also the three tanks you had to fight, and the snipers, and the Grunts...

Nope, you just get to save the game. Once you load back up it's story time again. See even the makers of the game know its long and boring.

the oot water temple wasnt necessarily hard (even in master quest) but it was sure as hell tedious. walking in slow-mo all the time and only using hookshot is crazy annoying.

and the first tutorial mission in sin and punishment. rest of the game was amazing but that part was just dumb and lame.

I would have to disagree with you there. I enjoyed the viridian forest a lot. Especially when I get to see all the cute little caterpies roaming in the forest :D

Thought of another one. The dream sequences in Max Payne. You have to hop around in darkness and land on little blood trails, and walk straight along them. Then when you fall there is this extremely loud baby scream that goes on and on and on and on UGHGHGH.

Why is this in the pool room anyways?

this was a plot point, it happened because
equipping GF's damaged everyone's memory
. and ff8 was amazing.

I used to have this rpg called Shining Force for game gear but I never even got to find out anything about the story. You could put in a fresh pack of new batteries and start the game up, but they would always die before you even get to the very first checkpoint.

can you please rephrase that im not good at math
This thread is about generally GOOD games with bad stretches. So if you hated the WHOLE game then how can the game be good in you opinion? :/

If thats the same one i played a while back (sega version) then I had fun playing it, never finished it tho. But what you posted is just saying your game gear is broken lol.

I just remembered another one, I like Ninja Gaiden but the beginning of it is boring, once i got kinda far into it tho I couldn't put the controller down.

all of uncharted 2
I think what hes trying to say is (and I know because I felt it) is that since you start off on a train near dead of uncharted 2, it is boring having to go back when the whole thing started, go through the long sequence of events needed to get back there, and do the level again (well I never got back to the train part again, but my friend said you needed to repeat the level)
