Is there still time to register and get in on this?
Yes. Online registration will close on Monday, May 31st at 11:59 PM EST.

We are getting close to selling out, so I'd suggest to purchase your pass asap.

Will registration for 2v2 be on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. This is important to me because I might need to find a teamate there lol
It will more than likely be Saturday. However, once you get to the venue, you can go up to the SSBB Tournament Directors (Alpha and JV), and ask them when they will be opening up registration for doubles.

For doubles seeding, I understand that with the first event it was done by singles placings.

For the Columbus event, will it be done exactly the same way, or will the Orlando placings have anything to do with how doubles players are seeded?

can you buy spectator passes at the door?
Yes, you can purchase spectator passes at the door.

Non-professional cameras are permitted. If it is a "professional" type camera, you may be asked to put it away.

Teams will be seeded using the following criteria, in this order: SSBB Pro Circuit Rank Points and SSBB Online Qualifier Rank Points. Ties will be broken using the next available criterion, or randomly if necessary. Teams with no SSBB Rank Points will be seeded randomly.

If I am under 18 years old, then I need to bring the Parental Consent form to the event. Are there ANY other things that I need to bring - such as an ID of some sort (e.g. copy of my passport, student ID, etc.) - in order to complete my registration? I have already put my name and my contact number in the Team Builder.

So a flip cam is allowed?
I'll get back to you on Monday about that.

Yes, you should always have a photo ID of some sort with you. Also, do not forget your wired controller.

I dont' see where the child consent form is on the 4th step of the team builder...

Can my photo ID be a school ID? I don't have a driver's license yet. If not, I'll just carry a copy of my passport in my wallet.

State ID is ALWAYS the superior ID to have. Its only around 50$ to get one here in Ohio you know right? Drivers license wise.

Temps you have to jump through hoops. Even then its a restricted ID obvi untill you reach a certain age[21] and get it renewed

lol, only $50 to get a driver's license here. The state has been ****** drivers with big fee increases in the last 10 years. :urg:

But I can't complain too much. :) Pick up food orders don't get taxed here. Food on the dollar menu at the drive thru is....... a dollar. I was shocked when I went to other states and they charged sales tax on drive thru and/or pick up.

A school ID will be fine as long as it has your name and picture on it. You shouldn't need a photo ID, but its always good to carry one just in case.

Does the no wireless controller policy also affect Gamecube wireless controllers like the Wavebird? If yes, I might just have to buy a new GC controller.

There are no wireless controllers allowed at all. None of them can have any wireless capabilities.

Ok so regarding the BYOC, worst case scenario:

If you fail to bring a controller, your controller breaks, or your controller is deemed illegal for play, what action is taken?

Disqualification? Or do we just ask around to see if anyone is nice enough to lend a controller for a match?

Unfortunately I thought I could get a controller at gamestop, and that failed, and I'm not confident that if I order a controller now, it will ship in time.

Edit* found my old gc controller...it's so beat up and sticky and busted from playing melee...but its legal. Question still stands however

Double edit* spoke too soon, the controller makes one of my characters all but completely invalid.

Your best chance is to find a GC controller over the Internet or something, since they aren't being sold in the US yet.

You can ask another player, who is not currently playing, if you would be able to borrow their controller. Columbus has tons of stores too, so if you get in on Thursday, I'd suggest to go around to try and find a Gamecube controller. You have about 5 minutes to get to your station after your name is called, so you better have a controller by then ;)

deimos, can the previous top 16 get access to some kind of reserved stations for extra warm up? I think we deserve it! if not, the normal warmups will be ok just it was really hard to get a warm up in orlando with people hogging the stations, and since orlando only had 190 entrys and this one basically sold out, it will be insane. Thanks

No, there are no SSBB Pro Players until Raleigh, so there will be no SSBB Pro Lounge at Columbus.

Just to clarify something, do we need to being any sort of proof that we bought a team pass or will we just need to tell them our username at check in?

You will just need to tell us your username at check-in. You should also bring with your a valid photo ID of yourself.

gosh, I wonder how good you have to be to get recognition in the MLG. Are there ever going to be any tournaments in the new england area? I'm really new to this all, and may finally go to my first tournament this saturday, but I would love to be a "pro" someday.

check All is Brawl tournament listings or the Smashboards one to find tournaments close to you personally I perfer the AIB one, you may also want to play a bit of wifi at the beggining to learn the basics of match ups but once you get decent enough you will probably only want to screw around on wifi.

if your new to smash you will probably want to learn basic match ups which is something wifi can help with

however the best way to get better is to play people offline as much as possible but if your new I would recommend online and play like 100+ different people, this isn't the thread for this though so if you have more questions PM me or AIM me

I would recommend reading a lot of those guides preferably the SCOTU guide for begginers

the match up chart is considered very inaccurate so don't take it to heart
