People who download games are stupid.
people who pay for games that can be downloaded for free are even stupider. Esp if they're games that were made like, 10 years ago and aren't for sale in retail stores anymore and are super obsolete now.

Maybe when you have your own money in this **** *** economy you'll understand why it's so wasteful.

Downloading games only hurts the quality we receive. If developers aren't getting what they should be getting in terms of the financial numbers then the numbers are skewed. Although trying to support the video game community is expensive :(

Smashboards is full of gamers in their teens and early 20's. Not much money circulating in this age group heh.

This
I also download pirated games but only the ones i would nevr spend money on i.e
New super mario bros wii, TvC, DBZ, Naruto, Etc etc.

HOWEVER games like Galaxy 1, galaxy 2, skyward sword, brawl, twilight princess,
Iwould never never never never have them burned from the computer because
1. I like authenticity and originality on top-notch games
2. The blue on burnable DVDs hurt my eyes
3. Nintendo 2good
4. Like havok said if u want quality of game X to stay good just buy it but i agree for lower grade games that u dotn really care goes up or down, u can burn it

Do you see what's in your sig? nintendo,
Do you know what these forums are based on? nintendo

yeah like i only pirate old games, i.e. anything nintendo wants to charge for on virtual console. Also, another reason i dont spend money on it is i bought a few games on vc, then my wii broke. Lost all save data and had to get a new wii. **** that, you don't lose anything on sd card.

also like dark if i like the game enough ill buy real thing, like i bought ristar for the game gear even though mine is dead, i just like collecting stuff sometimes. I was even gonna get MJ's moonwalker for the Sega Genesis, but then he died and now the price is ridiculous so ill just have to be happy with the rom =/ and yes it scared the **** out of me, i was like "sweeet MJ had a game on genesis imma get it" 3 days later my friend AIMS me that he's dead. man wtf

BTW, Nintendo use to be 2good. N64 was the last legit console, and Melee was the last legit game imo. Wii is the worst console i own if it wasn't for homebrew and access to old classic games like for snes, hands down. Nintendos garbage now and they give causal gamers rim jobs while ignoring the people who made them famous to begin with- the true gamers.

This review expresses how i feel about nintendo nowadays

http://www.gamefaqs.com/wii/930752-wii/reviews/review-136033

The Games: 3
Like I stated before, this system is made for the casual gamer, and has also been given the title of the "Party System". Most games are made for multiple people to play for long periods of time. Then most of other games that Nintendo made are super easy and quick to finish. It gives casual gamers something easy to do that can take put off making the game seem like it has taken weeks to finish, and hard core gamers a false feeling of accomplishment. Then there are the games that make the hard core gamers buy a Wii, these are the games that were originally on the Game Cube, but their sequel was put on the Wii. These games usually get hard core gamers who remember these games and think that it's going to be good and take a while to beat, but they actually are shorter than the prequel.

this is why I got a 360... or wanted a PS3. Also does this sound familar? You're playing it. This is what happened to Brawl, it got hit with the causal *** stick.

Nintendos starting to get on that Sega level of failure now tbh lol. Only thing legit they still do is pokemon, but that's something really hard to **** up. They did **** up official tournies though. 2 ubers hax items 2 on 2 style only get the **** out

Food can be gotten for free so I guess it's a "waste" to buy that too?

Same with almost anything else.

I swear people who defend piracy are like 14 or just cheap/poor....or maybe even remedial.

I don't waste my money, I enjoy the games I buy and enjoy collecting them in there actual state, not having them in folder on my computer under a bunch of Isos.

I COULD understand your logic if EVERY game was downloadable only (i.e psn, xbox live, etc) but they are not. I love looking over my shoulder to see my collection of games, and knowing if a friend wants to borrow them, he/she can.

You can get it for free but it's not legal, your logic is the same as going to stores to steal things, it's just easier with games.

no, my logic is Nintendo is stealing by charging people money for super obsolete games that you can get for free on the internet. Pirating new games is wrong, like my friend pirated pokemon black already with an english patch that he can play on his ds. That's wrong and I don't endorse that one bit. But like, playing pokemon blue? ****'s harmless.

I agree with pirating old games that are extremely hard to get/not in production anymore. I know I like to take my laptop with me and play sonic somewhere or something. Or modding a psp just to play old games on the go.

Let's end the debate here on a high note and NEVER BRING IT UP AGAIN.

All this serious business is getting in the way of my nonsense.

That didn't make any sense whatsoever.

What is the difference between pirating a new game or an old game? You're still pirating a game. Age doesn't change that.

And you say Nintendo is stealing?

Value, rarity, and companies don't make money off old games except for the ones downloaded from an online store via psn, etc.

So

Finding a buying a copy of a sega game from a pawn shop only supports that pawn shop...with $2 lol. And pawn shops/gamestops are almost like pirating also since you are getting a game used and not giving the real company its money so you might as well pirate.

That's where Dina's (sp) argument comes in when you can get something for free instead of buying. Why pay for "pirating" when you can pirate for free?
They are actually trying to get rid of used game stores I believe

From a game developer and publisher standpoint, buying a used game is actually just as bad as stealing a game. All the money from used games go to the retailer, not the publisher or the developer. So really that $2 Sega game doesn't go back to Sega at all, just like that $170 PS1 copy of Chrono Cross and how it doesn't go back to Square.
