Kamek referenced in quote, yet there's no sight of him in the screenshots! Why would Sakurai tease us like this, he's obviously playable! Sakurai wouldn't go two whole screenshots without showing him if he was just a stage hazard! Gosh!

Now to wait for Sakurai to show his shadow in a clip while discussing stage hazards and wait for people to argue about his flying pattern and how it simultaneously confirms and denies his status as both a stage hazard and a playable character :troll:

Say, would it be asking/expecting too much if we get something like...

"Pic of the Day. Wario joins the battle! He has much more Wario Land flair this time.

He will also be playable at the E3 demo."

I want to believe...

^ If the plan for this week is to introduce stuff which will be in the demo, tournament or E3 as a whole, a good way to end the week would definitely be a character reveal: "You'll be able to try out X in the demo as well!".

So how about some (unnecessary) hype for Friday?

If you can find as many hints and evidences we have found for Ridley, do share, as I want Kamek as well. ^^
I never actually expected Kamek, though. I am happy he's at least here.

Stage looks awesome. I hope it has plenty of variations.

Watch as one of the stage's forms is a lava land with Bowser's Castle in the background...

I don't know why but seeing this stage be revealed increased my hype. I love that this stage was included. Like...no joke.

I don't think anyone has brought up Sonic's new idle(?) animation in pic 2.

Nice, finally a new stage. Looks nice, I still prefer Mario Galaxy which is the GOAT though.
This seems like the new Pokémon Stadium. I hope it also has a lava section.

I don't think anyone has brought up Sonic's new idle(?) animation in pic 2.
That's nice. Retro Sonic throwback.

I thought we had already confirmed the 20 characters playable in the E3 demo? :p
I think the 20 characters are for the tournament while the demo roster is still under wraps. Or then I misunderdstood something and if so, feel free to correct me.

How many different worlds are there usually in New Super Mario Bros. games? I could see the stage turning into lots of different ones, but a lava version and desert/sand version seem pretty likely to me at least.
The world trend typically goes in the order of Overworld, Desert, Ice, Water, Forest, Mountains, Sky, and Volcanic.

Yes there are hazards on Halberd. Is Halberd legal? Less and less so, but for the majority of Brawl's life time sure. You can blame Meta Knight for eventually forcing it into exclusion. But Halberd's hazards were very very slow and wasn't too strong, while the other was also very slow and easy to SDI to avoid getting taken out by the strong last hit. If its that type of hazard, than it could be fine.
Sharking isn't fun, especially when no other character can really combat it and MK's is the best, and oh, MK's also the best character in the game. (Replace MK with Fox, and sharking with "pew pew pew pew pew")

And you can't tell how the hazard will go at all, you're assuming so many things here. Its got spikes. We can assume it hurts. We can't assume how much it hurts, how often it comes up, why it comes up, etc.

No walls are good, but they aren't necessarily centralising. They aren't the reasons that people don't like Delfino Plaza, Green Greens, briefly on Frigate, etc. Yes Dedede's gotchu, but not everyone has infinite chain grabs.

Yoshi's Island Brawl had randomly rising off stage platforms, in similar position to the Urchin. People hated that platform for many reasons, it got in the way of recovering and gimping and it was random. If that urchin actually kills, and comes up randomly? I don't think people will give the stage a chance based off of that.
Wait, people seriously complained about the phantom platform on Yoshi's Island?

People complain about everything.

I've never thought Yoshi's Island shouldn't be a starter (with 5 or more starters), but that platform has definitely given and taken stocks over the years. It's kinda like a 1 in 100 type of thing.

As it is random, people tend to curse their fate when it apparently isn't on your side.
"Oh I just spiked you! GET REKT!"
"AAA HAAA! The platform has saved me and because I'm some super fat **** who never dies in any other situation before 200% you're going to curse your fate!"
*****ing cursing my fate... SNAKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*
(similar scenario but different result is "OH I METEOR CANCELLED YOUR SPIKE, OH NEVER MIND THE PLATFORM DECIDED TO FALL AND PUSH ME DOWN WITH IT")

"Oh I'm just about to Up-B to the ledge, easy peasy!"
*suddenly the platform props up -> rocket projects me up, way past the ledge up into the sky with tons of lag*
*lose stock to shuttle loop or fully charged smash attack*
"FATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

Tonsssssssssss of scenarios. I don't even main Ness or Lucas. Those guys would spend days complaining to you about Yoshi's Island.

NSMBU is my favorite 2D Mario. (And by default, favorite Mario) Love this stage.

Prepare for the BAHS BAHS everyone.

Seems that my point has been ignored but I found pretty funny how he talks to use like we don't know what E3 is and that's implying that Nintendo didn't try to tell us already.
Er, he isn't talking to us. There are people who don't know what E3 is. And it never hurts to be reminded.

There are those who don't know what E3 is....especially those in other countries such as Italy and Japan. I imagine it was translated from Japanese to the other languages on MiiVerse. As well, not everyone follows gaming events like people here on Smashboards.

I actually found it refreshing.

At first i thought it was stage builder and thought to myself, "Nice we get to use actual obstacles and objects from different games!" but then saw the caption ...
nonetheless I still think this stage is great! I like simple :)

Ok a new stage nice one too.

And this hints kamek for a boss hazard on this one aparently

Well we will find out at the tournament.
Nah, seriously doubt Kamek Counts as a boss here. He'll most likely be invilcible as he flies by, using magic. I mean, or else you could prevent him from changing the stage. :p

Why is everyone saying that Kamek is a stage boss? Can I call Viridi a stage boss? He will be there for transformations like what he did with the Koopalings in NSMBwii

This looks like quite the interesting stage; I'm curious what all the forms look like. A dynamic stage with a strong emphasis on the platform game seems right up my alley, and those two forms we've seen look fairly similar so I kinda suspect the others will follow that theme.

Also, if it follows NSMB themes, it's very likely one of these forms will be an ice form. Ice is pretty much the best thing ever, and if this stage has it, it definitely has to be a fully legal stage.

The ice world was my favorite in NSMBU, so I'm all for it.

Though I'm sure the stage will be #BANNED, it looks like a really fun casual stage. It has a basic layout, which is enough for me.

Man, it's be forever since we've last seen a genuinely new stage. Aside from the Pokemon League stage shown in the Direct, the last new Wii U stage was Palutena's Temple way back in January. I especially like this update because it shows that the early Wii U days are being put into consideration for stage material which hopefully means that a Nintendo Land stage isn't all too far off. Also, only a little more than a week before maximum dong expansion!

This stage looks great and seems to have stayed quite true to the game. However, I'd like to see stages for some of the series that don't have any/have only retro stages revealed so far. It'll still be nice to see all the form changes for this stage at E3, so this was a nice tease, and an especially nice Monday pic.

I'm surprised we're getting nods to E3 already, but hopefully that means we're in for a bunch of hype-inducing pics like this one as we head into E3! (Until the inevitable fake out pic next Tuesday that says to watch the Nintendo E3 program + tournament that ultimately gets replaced by a bunch of veterans and new characters)

Whelp. There goes my most supported character.

Again.
People need to start bracing themselves for next Tuesday because with the avalanche of footage we're going to see from across the US and Canada, we're probably in for a conga line of disconfirmations. I would argue that there are two characters who E3 is a definite make-it-or-break-it moment for: Snake and Ridley. If they are playable, something will be said by next Tuesday night.

Yeah, itt would be nice to see the Metroid 3DS stage already, as well as the stages for Kirby, Pikmin, Yoshi, Sonic, etc... for the 3DS version. As far as the Wii U version is concerned, I would like to see if the DK stage will be based of some level in Tropical Freeze.

I'm pretty meh about the new stage. I might need to see more images of it or see some gameplay of it in action. I kinda would of preferred a different Mario stage but I guess this is fine if a lot of others are hyped for it.
