I don't know, I thought Yoshi's Island DS was pretty good.

I thought it lacked balance. I thought the boss battles were head slappingly simple while 100%'ing some of the levels was so hard that I was practically biting the side of my DS like a stale Eggo out of sheer rage.

I had this whole lovely post about the potd and how I don't like it but I posted it during maintenance so it didn't pop up and the draft didn't save much of it so I gave up on it and went to bed.

Not in the mood to do mini rants like what my original post was but I'll answer your question nontheless. I don't like Mario stages and we already have 1 on the Wii U (the Mario Galaxy stage) while a number of series lack stages, among other things.

Not necessary for the characters part. I mean a E3 worthy characters that probably not going to be shown at E3 could be revealed before it. In my opinion.

It's super close to E3 and the second POTD today has: Mario, Sonic, MegaMan AND LUMA (Yellow---resembling and foreshadowing Pac Man!??!)

Actually, Kamek (not MagiKoopa) is the main villian in the Yoshi games, and is a important foe in most big Mario Games. I doubt he'll ever be playable, but I asure you, he is not a generic enemy. ^^

I'm familiar w/ his role in Yoshi's games. He's hardly an antagonist. He's just a precursor to a boss fight. And in regular Mario games he's a common enemy like any other Koopa. Using his magic to transform and manipulate stuff. Which is why I think he's best suited as an AT.

I'm really hoping this week goes by fast. Mondays has a tendency to be a barometer for the rest of the week and if we're starting the week off on a high note, the rest of it will probably be pretty good too.

We have yet to have a good week that simply faltered out after a good Monday and, truth be told, it usually meant Sakurai was building up to something on Thursday or Friday.

We have also yet to have a pattern that Sakurai hasn't broken! Let's hope for that good week though!

i know its a bad game but in new yoshi's island he is a boss fight multiple times at that

That's no reason to dislike Mario stages. Most series have had at least one or two stages representing them in the past Smash Bros. games. Just because we've got two Mario stages now, I can't see that being any different in Smash 4. I'm certain every game series will get plenty of representation. Just because we haven't seen it doesn't mean it's no there.

Oh I understand that perfectly. I'm pretty sure between stages, items, characters and music the Mario series is and has always been the most represented series in Smash and I don't expect that to change. However what Sakurai shows and what I see is another Mario stage that I figured would exist (not the exact stage but I figured we'd get another Mario stage) when we could be seeing a stage for a series that currently has 0 shown stages. I just like variety :/, kinda like when we kept getting Zelda items shown, didn't like that either.

But whatever, it's a new stage for the Wii U which will be playable at the demo and no matter what I say or do will change the fact that it's not from a different series.

I'm late to comment but the new stage is pretty like the rest of this game, and I know I'll have lots of matches there! It feels like forever since we got a real Mario stage since Delfino was fine but...yknow, didn't feel Mario, no blocks or...I dunno, it wasn't bad, just yknowww. And Mushroomy Kingdom, while a cool idea, was so dusty and faded that it got boring. Plus it traveled which is annoying. It was cool! But not what I wanted. But THIS! It's visually there, it doesn't travel, ...awesome!

Anyway, the updates leading up to the April 8th direct were all pretty substantial, so I predict a good week! At least one assist trophy has to show up sometime. Maybe Nabbit?

I actually think the opposite. I think the acorn hills part will be the final destination version. The reason I say that is because if you look at the rocky platform they're standing on in the second picture, it looks slightly tilted. I have a feeling it's gonna tilt back and forth depending on character placement.

So Monday started off strong, might mean things be bold for the rest of the week.
Though the question is which point would it focus on, items, stages, or deconfirmations. Or just things to build hype for e3

Given that the roster for the Demo/Invitational seems to be set in stone at this point, I doubt they'd reveal anything aside from an obvious vet reveal. Lest they upset people for not making them playable for them, like Ike. That and they're saving their big guns for the Digital Event, methinks.

Tonight's picture is gonna be the deciding factor for this week, being either five glorious days of hype or the usual affair that we're used to, AKA a day of hype, a wind-down period, followed by more hype.

What's more, 30 is a nice round number to have going into E3.

As a fan of nice round numbers (and nice round things in general), I'd prefer to withhold character confirmations and reveals until next week.

EDIT: It also occurs to me that 30 + 2 stages have been confirmed thus far (15 Wii U, 15 3DS, and the two Classic stages for either system). The stars are aligning indeed.

Sorry guys, haven't been on here in a while and I have no clue why the rumor thread was closed. But someone posted a picture which is supposedly Tails in Smash 4, just Tails, on the 3DS nothing saying he's a character or assist trophy, and I just wanted to come here to find out if it's been proven fake, because I know you guys usually have the answer. Again sorry for asking this here, but I don't know where else to go.
