One stage comes from his first outing on the Wii. The other comes from his first outing on the Wii U. Pretty cool.

And Sakurai is gettin ready for E3, BIG TIME!

Blue Kamek still has a chance Kamek isn't disconfirmed! The stage could still change whenever he casts a spell as part of his moveset. He'd be the only character capable of changing stages!

If those blowfishes come up at random, guaranteed to be banned in its non-FD form. People may argue it for the first six or so months before it gets binned.

Already love this stage. Awesome update.

I am a big NSMB fan, so this one is wonderful. It better have a lava version, as well as a Ghost House version, Painted Forest version, etc. It should have 7 versions, with one Koopaling appearing in every one, in some form.

Whoa, a new stage? Wasn't expecting that. and it will be playable at the E3 Demo. Sweet. I wonder if that means the Best Buy demo as well.

When I loaded the Director's Room page I saw, "Pic of the day. Here's a new Wii U stage..." I was expecting it to be referring to the Kalos Pokemon League stage from the last direct, but this is a better surprise. (I still want info on that stage, though.)

This stage looks pretty nice. I wonder if it will have more transformations (probably).

basically anything that adds a little variety to the game is banned on the competitive scene . wouldn't be surprised if only FD stages get chosen

kamek its the japanese name for magikoopa...like the species and not just the character

To everyone saying Kamek is disconfirmed-do I need to bring baack the Alphonse jokes? I'm pretty sure he has a daughter or something from Paper Mario who could easily replace him if was on the stage.

That said I can't say I expect Kamek to be playable at all.

It's a Mario themed stage. Don't question.

Thought he'd make a good Yoshi character, along with the Baby Mario Bros., but didn't think he really had a chance. A second Yoshi character is unlikely as it is.

A special move where you fire his magic shapes at items and turn them into enemies (the kind from Melee that pop out of crates) would've been cool, though.

I know we're expecting not so great pics this week since it is the last one before E3...but what if Sakurai uses each pic this week to highlight something he will be talking about next Tuesday? Example: "Pic of the Day. Here is an image of the new stage builder. I'll be going into more detail about this feature next week." Probably unlikely but it'd be cool.

I know I'm getting my hopes up, but I feel like this helps Bowser Jr. out. What if there could be two new Mario reps? One represents the Mario Galaxy series(Rosaluma), and the other represents the New Super Mario Bros. Series(Bowser Jr.). Maybe he revealed this stage because we may get the Koopa Prince as a character. Gosh this pic has hyped me up incredibly!

It makes me happy seeing a new Mario stage. We should be getting at least 1 stage per big franchise (Kirby, Yoshi, DK and Starfox) so seeing ANOTHER mario stage hints at a large number of stages

...I meant Kamek would be playable and Kammy would replace him in the NSMB level if he was being used. Like how Alphonse replaces Toon Link on the Spirit Tracks stage.
