Miiverse Daily Pic Thread: 2nd Edition (Updated 9/19)

The Diddy, Little Mac, and Zelda reveals certainly make it hard to pinpoint if we will get a Yoshi reveal tomorrow since there is no clear pattern (and patterns do not exist lol). However, my only concern that there hasn't been a Japanese reveal date announced outside of Summer 2014.

There's always anniversaries to fall back on.
I dunno, call me stubborn, but there's just something that leaves a bad taste in my mouth...

Though, referring to the date. We could get one around this time.
We're starting to get into Spring, so there is hope.

With both Diddy and Zelda, we knew of the Western and Japanese releases dates not to mention they were within weeks of each other. Back to the Zelda example. He could've revealed her in November, it's only logical.

While he has broken habits here and there. It's shown that yea, he does prefer Japan's release over others.

One could argue why wait so long to reveal Wario when we know Wario content is already in the game.

Yet there isn't any Yoshi content revealed so far to my knowledge. It's obvious we know they are going to be revealed in due time. I just don't find the point in waiting until the Japanese release, which has yet to be announced, when the Western release is on the 14th.

I can see them waiting until summer or whenever the game comes out in Japan to reveal Yoshi but it doesn't make any sense to me.

If I was Sakurai, I would reveal Yoshi Friday, Snake next Thursday, a newcomer and Ice Climbers April, and Wario and Lucas in May. That is a perfect world, and actually what I somewhat expect (except Snake, I'm not too sure on him).

I don't think that's a huge issue. Personally, I don't find it that likely, but it would make sense, in my opinion regardless of whether or not it's on the Wii U. There isn't a written rule for advertising, and if Snake is still in the game, that would be the best time to reveal him.

But it isn't a Nintendo game, it's a Playstation and Xbox game.
I just can't find a good reason to reveal a character just because they're getting a game on the rival's console.

We still haven't had that throwaway pic of the week, not to be a negative Nancy. Since we're probably getting Yoshi on Friday, I'm not expecting too much today. I'd actually love to see more of that Lumiose city stage though.

God, why does the 3DS have such better stages? Seriously, all the Wii U has over 3DS is larger size and the Galaxy stage.

I agree with Blue, staying up for the pics in general is a bit of a waste IMO, depending on where you live. Like, I don't get them now from 2-3, and being that I don't get enough sleep as it is, I just sleep through.

If by that you mean having his specials heavily improved then yeah, that'd be most appreciated.

If you mean to just completely overhaul some of his moves, like his Egg Toss, then I'll have to disagree. In terms of concept, his special moves are spot on, it's just their execution what was kind of lacking in previous games.

Yoshi gets on my nerves as a Smash character because he's not completely terrible but he's really not that good either. It's the fact that for two games he's hit that middle ground of perfectly awful that I don't like him in Smash. I don't want him cut or anything but he needs some serious buffs before I take him seriously as a Smash character again.

He's one of the least played characters of mine in Brawl, I'd be ecstatic if they changed him or even gave him Baby Mario, SOMETHING to make him better. Maybe he'll get the upright position treatment that Bowser did.

If you didn't like how he sounded in Brawl, I'm not sure how Baby Mario's crying is going to improve the situation!

But he's actually quite good in 2 games. He just got nerfed in Brawl, like a lot of characters from Melee.

Whether or not he meshes with you well is irrelevant and has no bearings on how good he actually is.
