Maybe another thing would be a faster down special. That would do wonders...
Well,
she got some slight speed buffs on her attacks, but the transformations becamed horrible because of the loading time. I personally think that a slight buff in range would do wonders. And the ability to stop Farore's wind. Oh this would be awesome.

Tomorrow i'm predicting an item, assist trophy or pokeball pokemon. And then Yoshi on Friday. I'd love to be wrong and have a non-Yoshi character revealed, but the sooner the better because we all know he's coming back anyways...

I'm gonna make an absurd prediction and say...

Little Mac's KO punch vs Falcon Punch, with a grand reveal of Captain Falcon and the beautiful HD Knee.

Yea... not gonna happen. lol

I feel like it's time for a Luigi's nose picture. We've been "predicting" it many many times and we should totally get it now. It hasn't been so long since Waluigi and Dedenne, nor the latest item, and we got a new stage too, so I think those are covered and we'll get something silly before the Yoshi-storm on Friday.

p.s. I'm totally expecting Toon Link to be a starter this time, say whatever you say!

Ugh, I'd much rather see PT over Jigglypuff ASAP! I gotta know if my main is returning! :nervous:
I agree, though because of my own dislike of Jigglypuff I'd like to know one way or the other if she's gone or not...

Two new stages with Tortimer Island and Lumiose City. I know we saw Tortimer Island before, but that was only the dock.

Assist trophy tonight. Yoshi/Pokemon Trainer/Random veteran tomorrow.

We've seen enough stuff to show that XY material is in the game. Any chance of different starters for PT?
Well, to be fair.
They're Kanto starters. It would technically be R/B/G material.

Just in case people were still curious, the Japanese caption is:

"きょうの一枚。 ゼルダが使うディンの炎は、中心部が強い攻撃になりました。長く飛ばすほど、威力も攻撃範囲も広くなるけど、撃墜を狙うならコアに当てること。"

I don't speak Japanese, so don't take my word for it, but as far as I can tell it doesn't say anything about a meteor or spike effect.

I never played Zelda very much, so I don't really have any opinion on this change. I'm hoping she's gotten a lot of other buffs and tweaks though...

By gimmicks do you mean the stamina system? Or the fact that the trainer is super annoying?
Well, there's two.
You're right with stamina. But there's also type effectiveness.

Though to be fair, I don't mind Pokemon Trainer, it's just those gimmicks putting him down.

Stamina is annoying to have to deal with. Type effectiveness isn't such a big deal though. Charizard gets extra defense against all those fire moves in the game, it just makes sense.

Yeah, stamina is irritating.
Especially when you have to switch into a counter.
It's not fun at all...

Actually, he doesn't.
He only gets resistance from water to my knowledge.
If anything, it helps Squirtle the most, but hinders Ivysaur.
Honestly, there's no use for it. It should go.

Oh yeah, charizard is actually neutral to fire.

Squirtle is easy enough to kill that it doesn't make a significant difference having the bonus. But Ivysaur is hard enough to use already. It's adding insult to injury on him :/

That's worst part.
All it does is hurt poor Ivy.
It ends up hindering Pokemon Trainer instead of helping him.

I've made suggestions of how to make the Type Effectiveness more balanced (Electricity is super effective against all but Ivysaur who resists, suddenly it evens out), and how to make it more important to the character's use (if you get hit by something you resist you get a short term attack buff) in the Pokémon Trainer discussion thread.

It's an interesting concept, and a gimmick that could make a great character if it's edited correctly, getting rid of it isn't the only option!

They should resist their own type though, it's kinda stupid that Charizard is hit neutral by Fire in smash...

The whole Type Effectiveness is a neat gimmick and it's a huge part of Pokemon, but it really hinders Ivysaur. I can handle stamina but I agree that it's annoying to deal with.
Both hurt PT pretty bad though and I doubt Sakurai will remove them seeing how they are a unique trait to the Trainer(Not saying it's a good one though). If PT returns, it'll be showcased in a PotD.

Is squirtle hit hard by electricity? I can't remember now.
No, it's only the basic weaknesses.
So Water > Grass > Fire > Water.

Well, for one.
Smash isn't that big in canon. And none of the other Pokemon reps have it.
It's honestly useless. And goes against the character.

Well, Brawl Sakurai would've.
But it's shown time and time again that he's listened to us. He wants to make the best Smash game.
I have hope.

In Brawl, No. I'm suggesting that it would improve PKMN Trainers balance if he was but was balanced to compensate for it. Type Effectiveness could be a great gimmick adding options and strategy to the mix, and stamina is part of making you switch strategy not just rely on the type strength... Both NEED changing (Stamina is way too quick to be lost), but it can be done in a way that improves the character more than getting rid of the gimmick.

And MVG if Lucario got his Gimmick back, why do you think he'd drop PKMN Trainers?

Simple.
Lucario's aura mechanic not only helped the character, but was essential to his moveset.

Stamina and Type Effectiveness not only hinder Pokemon Trainer, and really aren't that necessary.
Sure, they make you think. But we can make Pokemon Trainer unique in other ways (heck, he already is. IMO he's a decent mindgames character).
Honestly, I don't mind uniqueness. But they weren't "gimmicks". They were weights that pulled down his potential.

I meant that with Dedenne and Xerneas shown in Smash, it means they had enough time to include 6th gen representation in the game, which means PT might have new starters.

I thought Lucario's Aura Mechanic hindered him. I wasn't able to get a kill unless I was about to die or if I was losing.
I agree, he would've been unique even without those weighty-gimmicks.

It just made a powerful character even better. And now it's getting a buff.
He porves to be quite the beast.

Not here to brag or anything, but this is EXACTLY what I said Sakurai should do to Dins Fire.
But I know he didn't actually see what I said ;_;
Still, Dins Fire is my favorite attack in Brawl out of any character. Any update with it, I like. Still waiting for Nayru's Love design in this game.... I hope they change its look up a bit again. Also, looking forward to seeing Zelda's transform being close to the speed of Melee, hell, I just want Sheik confirmed.

There's at LEAST 25GB on that disc. There's NO reason the speed of transform shouldn't be back to what it was, but samurai might like the time in between, because he stated it was useful to dodge final smashes.

Durr I didn't mean Brawl I meant the new games lol. It would be awesome if we had an option for PT either choosing old starters or new starters.

Honestly, I like the Kanto ones better.
Sure, the Kalos starters are nice, but they can't beat the original three.

They're far more popular/iconic while also being the most occurring starters in the games.

I honestly thought we'd see the Pokemon Trainer with the release of Pokemon Origins.

Edit: Why did it post two of the same post??

Also, I don't see why they would bother designing 3 brand new movesets when the 3 Kanto starters are Iconic and relevant as they are in X/Y.
