etecoon beat me to it. Sorry we don't play on Pictochat and Distant Planet.

Diddy only has that disadvantage on PS1 if he's losing. If he's in the lead, the geography of the stage is pretty phenomenal for HIM to camp MK and try to run the timer. It's also very long for lots of banana locking fun and banana shooting. Maybe it's on par with Battlefield and Smashville, but it's not exactly that easy. Plus, for every time there's a transformation that MK has the advantage on if he's winning, the stage reverts back for just as long for Diddy to have the advantage on.

...what.

Luigi shouldn't even be HITTING Meta Knight. Ftilt, dtilt, fair and tornado shut him out entirely.

I sense bole of the hyper variety
possibly

what he said. luigi you just maintain good position against and don't let him in, don't try to approach him really just brick wall him. if you're spacing/retreating right you shouldn't trade that much. and tornado you don't really spam or anything, it's good for covering his landing options

and idk about the jab > up B in particular but you can jump > dair out of most characters jab mixups, something to keep in mind

Are we still on Diddy, or Luigi?

If we're on Luigi, I'd just like to point out that his fireballs do outprioritize the Tornado. It's nothing too bad, just something to look out for, especially when approaching one with it. I'm actually not sure about Luigi, just Mario. =P

If we're still on Diddy, then I'd say that stage list posted before was very accurate.

luigis fireballs do not outprioritize nado
neither do marios

it only works if they fall on top of nado like bouncing a ball into a cup
weegees cant even do that since they go straight

Against Luigi, camping shuts him down, his fireballs shouldn't make you approach. If you don't play safe you can potentially get ***** though. You have to be extremely on point with spacing attacks on the way down from the air (for example Dairing and beating his bair) or you might trade. It's pretty bad when MK plays it correctly though, 60-40 through 70-30 imo.

yea. jbands and boss just had me rethink what im doing their luigi was way insane. i can see how just spacing more and not falling for their little combos would help lol.

Really? I find beating Diddy on Brinstar a pretty should-win match. Most Diddy's ban it vs good MK's, I think even ADHD bans brinstar and just accepts the delfino/rainbow CP. same with Felix.

Unless you're sharking non-stop, Judge is right. Stupid Diddy's don't practice these stages like AZ. I laugh my *** off whenever they take AZ's diddy there.

You can literally create a wall of bananas popping up and down, and diddy doesn't have kill problems anymore. o_o

Okay, so you fly away when the acid comes up because Diddy is worse off with that than he was when you were sharking.

It's really not that simple.

You remember how Diddy doesn't have an approach without a banana?

On Brinstar this isn't the case unless you're sharking. You can't shark 100% of the time on Brinstar, and Diddy can do some serious damage when he isn't. I've seen AZ play on this stage enough to see it with my own eyes. Judge and I aren't crazy, trust me. =P

I played ADHD there in tournament last week. I know what Diddy Kong can do on the stage. Yes, you can't shark 100% of the time. However, that fraction of the time you can't shark is because of the lava, and that hurts Diddy more than it hurts MK. Diddy's forced either into the air or onto a platform, where MK can place absurd amounts of pressure on him, and where his banana game hardly means anything. Diddy in the air = much easier up Bs, also. You have five jumps, a tornado, gliding, and really ****ing quick aerials. Diddy does not.

Yeah, he can do some cool stuff with the gooey ****, but it's most certainly beatable. Any time he can bounce bananas off that, you can stay under it or even BREAK the stage. Diddy can't utilize the platforms nearly as well as MK and the lava hurts him much more. I really don't see how this isn't the worst stage for Diddy in this matchup.

I'm interested, maybe posting some AZ vids would help in this discussion.

But I would guess that he's gonna be zoning to keep MK down there, how does he do that effectively?

One thing I will say immediately, the lava is sometimes low enough that Diddy can remain onstage but it prevents sharking.

Yea, a little back-up to conceptualize how Diddy would use the stage well would be useful.

once **** start z catching and doing more fancy trix with diddys naners we will win. adhd knows a LOT vs mks but thats cuz i dont see mks doing a lot what they should. i faced him in tourny and online for as couple sets last month and if i were to plan the match out and see how i can play it more perfect ur gonna want to avoid getting hit by a naner like u would avoid an ice climer grab.

next is to know the limits. u cant dair camp in this spot and throwing a naner at a certain time gets YOU punished. dont nado just yet, wait for it. ect ect. dont try to punish this.

If Diddy's are going to learn crazy z-catch tricks, MK is going to do his easy to do infinite?

You mean IDC? Isn't that banned?
Or that foot stool banana thing?
Footstool banana thing. It isn't hard to do at all; the difficult part is getting the original footstool. It does, however, mean every time you hit Diddy with a banana he has to roll away from you. If he doesn't it's a free infinite setup. Even then, if you call him it's a setup. Guranteed.

That's not to say we'll see these all over the place, but the openings are just the hardest part... and aren't impossible.

Wait and hope there's a ledgegrab rule. MK can fight planking without getting killed but he can't really do anything to get his opponents off the edge without taking a risk.

It really IS fun for each person trying to chase the other. Like even though the stage is pretty gay, that was definitely the funnest match of our set lol.
