There more that one way to recover besides up b. If its that easy then Id be counterpicking all Sheiks to MC and going Jiggs.
Besides you said Peach/Jiggs. Sheik can do fine vs Peach on Mute. There not unbetable. Vanz is a great player and Ive seen Jesus beat him on Mute round 3 pretty solidly. And Iirc Scar also beat his Jiggs at Bullhead on Mute. No clue what match it was though. No offense to Vanz though

then you get a counterpick game 3. you can pick something gay to, or you can just pick a nuetral. its up to you to decide.
im sorry like honestly. i perform better on nuetrals generally, and i wish this could be a ruleset. but the argument and the mindset behind it is really scrubby

Volatility should be removed from the outcomes. Clearly there's some volatility on some of these counterpick stages so get rid of them. Reforming the legal stages has been WELL overdue in my opinion. No stage should be allowed if it isn't allowed in round 1. Counterpicks should be about personal preference. Puff CPing mute city isn't any worse than fox CPing corneria - they're both bad - get rid of it all.
Like JFox said it's just silly to have sets go neutral - mute - corneria instead of neutral - FD - PokeStadium or whatever. Neutrals still have subtle differences and players can still gain advantage from picking - they just still have to be the better player in order to win.

Some people are overrating Mute City way too much. You have other options besides just up-b-ing onto the stage and getting punished for it. You can easily hit the floor or vehicles when they are available, and although some characters are pretty defenseless when recovering when the stage rises and there is no floor, remember peach and jiggs still need to land sometime too and you can punish them as well.

I'm really not embarassed by that loss, Sethlon has a style counter on me. I'm only good vs one specific style which is why I get ***** by certain people and do well vs others. Its probably why I'm so unsuccessful at smash too, especially in tourney where u fight a wide variety of styles. I wasn't surprised at all by that loss. I also wasn't that surprised at all about taking round 2 off Shiz and ****** that aarosmashguy from midwest. Or why I've taken rounds off Mango/PC in sets but got ***** by Chu's ice climbers 2-0. Certain styles I know how to do much better than vs others.
That was a horrible argument that was made in an attempt to embarrass me at best, that was not any grounds for making an argument. You don't take two players who aren't anywhere close to the highest level of play (m2k/mango level) and use that as grounds for making an argument. You also don't make judgments on one match, cuz theres all kinds of factors that can influence what happens in one match. For example, that match I was winning the whole time, and 2nd to last stock he forwarded B spiked me interrupting my second jump while I was at low percent. He got a gimp and I lost a 1 stock game on my cp. Had that not happened I woulda beaten someone who I didnt deserve to necessarily beat on a stage that is badly unbalanced. **** happens though, its not like every match goes the right way (regardless i think he woulda beat me on his cp and i woulda lost the set). You have to look at this at a large scale, no one match proves anything.

Anyways, I came in here to say there are only a few CPs that are too dumb to work, if any. Mute city and Green Greens (which should be banned no question as there is no reason NOT to pick Fox there) gimp more than half the cast assuming the opponent uses a specific character on that stage (mute has 2 characters).
On a side note, I have no idea why Yoshi's Story is neutral. Because it looks kind of like Battlefield? Ever seen somebody playing vs Marth NOT strike that stage? Marth's best stage in the game is considered neutral, there's something wrong with that.
I'd go so far as to say FD probably shouldn't be neutral and the neutral list should read something like Battlefield, Pokemon Stadium, Dreamland and Fountain of Dreams. Almost nobody has a problem with any of those stages, and if they do it's most often personal preference instead of a "one character dominates so hard it's stupid" deal. Yes, PS has Fox, but it's not even THAT huge of a deal. Fox kills you 10% earlier, whoopdie do.

You said "everyone", I had no reason to assume you were speaking to that select group of people. I was also not at all implying that you should post any differently as far as intelligence, but more so that using "everyone's" opinion on any matter involving analysis and logic was a bad move when only a minority of "everyone" has shown to actually matter in these areas. You clarified what you meant by "everyone" so I digress.
Over-rate myself, as far as what? Debating? I'm as good as I say I am, trust me. I am on the fence with this subject, so I don't really even post a lot. But when I see flawed logic, I point it out.

3/4 of you people play counter picks wrong. If you are Fox and you counter pick Corneria against a peach, your whole job is run the **** away and shoot lasers, wait for her to dash attack you, up-smash out of shield, dead. Counter-pick stages were meant to be gay on. That is why they are counter picks /end
