3 million Banshees? Alright, but the last one was for an N7 weapon, anything this time?

Same as always:

You'll get an N7 weapon for finishing a game on gold.

Also: PS3 players will be receiving their commendation packs for operations Goliath and Raptor!

And they buffed shockwave, lift grenade, reduced cooldown on Marksman, and some other stuff I don't remember.

And premium spectre packs and jumbo equipment packs are now PERMANENT.

I saw on facebook that ME3 PS3 players are supposed to receive commendation packs for all the previous N7 operations you missed out on, so you should check your game and see if you received those yet. As for the upcoming operation, killing 3 million Banshees just gets the you victory pack (which is pretty much the equivalent to a veteran pack, so its not that great). What you want is the commendation pack (which contains the N7 weapon). To get the commendation pack for this week's challenge you need to get a full extraction on gold difficulty against any enemy and on any map. At least I think, I'll edit the post later with a link to the blog.

Well, if the Commendation Pack just requires a Full Extraction on Gold, then that shouldn't be a problem at all since I've got one or two groups that I semi-regularly go through Gold with. Also, I got 2 Commendation Packs today from it, so you're right. I wound up getting the Hurricane and the Crusader. From what I remember, the Crusader is supposed to be an AWESOME Shotgun since it fires a slug and is really accurate, albeit heavy.

So pretty much Lift Grenades are a lot more useful, Marksman/Adrenaline Rush are better overall with faster recharge times, Ballistic Blades are more accurate, and Centurions are stronger, but will have to be closer to attack you?

No it's not they'll have to be closer, it's that they're now going to apply more pressure to you and are bulkier.

Centurions have strong weapons, you don't really want them getting close, and now they'll push towards you even more and are slightly harder to kill. Also I don't know why you spoiler tagged that it's multiplayer.

EDIT:

Its funny that
the catalyst made perfect sense to me on my first playthrough. I started the Cerberus HQ assault mission at 10pm and beat the game at 8am; by that time, I was so deprived of sleep that I felt JUST as exhausted as Shepard and I seriously Did. Not. Question a word the kid was saying. It wasn't till I played again with a clearer head that I realized something was wrong. I'm never beating a game while fighting sleep deprivation again.

Man, I'm in RAGE mode, today.

Played Gold, won some, but lost most.

My team always ends up losing at WAVE 10 with those Indoctrination Boosters; AT THE LAST ONE. >:[

Happened about 4 times today xD

But I learned one thing, at least. I rock at Geth Infiltrator.

I'm in semi-rage mode with ME3 in that my Gold team hasn't been around this weekend. I don't mean like "only 1 or 2 guys from it has been", I mean NONE of them have been.

This was 3 times the size of the normal ones on the hardest enemies.
No, I meant I always thought EA/Bioware just fibbed the numbers and said we succeeded even if we failed in order to come off sounding good. I didn't know they'd actually announce we could fail.

Waiting for you to slip up.
So I've come up with a pretty powerful loadout for Krogan Vanguard.

Claymore w/ Ammo Upgrade V and Accuracy V
6 Biotic Charge w/ Force & Damage, Weapon Synergy, and Barrier
6 Carnage w/ Damage, Incapacitate, and Armor Damage
6 Barrier w/ Barrier Strength, Shield Recharge, and Barrier Strength
0 Krogan Battlemaster
6 Rage w/ Melee Damage, Martial Artist, and Pure Rage

You get a weapon accurate enough to OHKO bottom tier enemies at assault rifle range, melee strong enough to completely rip stuff apart, and a durable enough character to help draw fire for someone else to chip away.

I don't think you really need carnage. You should put nothing in carnage and put those points into krogan battlemaster and put all of your upgrades into weapon damage. You'll need the extra weapon damage on gold.

Carnage rips up armor and knocks foes to the ground. The second part is what makes Carnage so helpful, as the majority of foes immune to this knockdown are too slow to avoid damage anyway. It lets you charge in and slap their **** and in tandem with the melee damage increase it's even more deadly. You're gonna be doing enough damage with your weapons and melee attack that it really boils down to what you want more: the knockdown of Carnage or the weapon damage increase? While they're both valid choices, the knockdown is far too valuable to pass up for damage you're already likely dealing in spades.

EDIT: After reading it over, Incapacitate is a Rank 5, meaning you could put 15 points in Carnage and then get a 10% weapon damage bonus from the first three slots of Battlemaster. I still think that the knockdown is too good to pass up.

If you're taking more than one weapon in to battle as a Krogan Vanguard:

YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

You skip Carnage, because the recharge is set to ludicrous speed SLOW. It doesn't do THAT much more damage to armor compared to a Rail Boost and Armor Piercing Rounds (lvl 3).

Do yourself a favor; Skip Carnage. Your skills and weapons will suffer for be you didn't. ((I think I accidentally asleep))

Never said that Krogan Vanguard should ever bring two weapons into combat. Carnage with Damage Increase on Rank 4 deals 472 points of damage and with the Rank 6 Armor Damage increase, the damage boost to armored enemies is increased by 65%. You can go with the universal damage boost of 50% but you're really going to be using Carnage for armor since you're not always going to have Rail Boost/AP Rounds. And last I checked, 472 points of damage on its own is quite a bit, not taking the potential Rank 6 boosts or the residual fire damage into account. And if recharge speed is truly an issue, slap on a Power Efficiency Module since chances are you'll be doing a ludicrous amount of damage anyway with a single weapon in your loadout.

Yeah, no.

472 points of damage sounds super duper on paper. Or Bronze.

Now you're in Silver and/or Gold.

Carnage is useless.

Enemies have much more health, and you will not have the proper recharge time to pop off shots with Carnage to make it worth it. And since you've decided to skip the Krogan Battlemaster tree... You've skipped out on at least one extra "weight capacity" (more cooldown), the power upgrades in the tree (also giving you more cooldown) and weapon damage for the weapon that shoots confetti.

The Power Efficiency mod will only do so much.

And this isn't even taking the Barrier being on into consideration, to which you've nearly guaranteed to double your cooldown.

The long and the short of it is: The Krogan Vanguard is a CQC specialist, Carnage is a long range skill that is subpar, and does not belong on the Krogan Vanguard at all. If you want to use Carnage, use the Krogan Soldier. And even THEN I wouldn't recommend Carnage.

I have to agree with Odin. Krogan Vanguard's viability is tied to it's charge. The faster you can charge an enemy the easier it is for you to stay alive. The easier it is for you to stay alive the more fear your enemies should have.
