you have to find it on the map, it says something else, something along the lines of "recover ****"

Ohhhh, THAT'S what that is. I had something that was like one of those side-quests that was something similar to that, so I didn't think anything of it. And wow...I got this game just today and already put 7 hours into it.

i already have 23 hours into this game, get at me

also, who else is having way too much fun with the melee

the adept's melee attack is literally a shotgun of biotic that blasts enemies with no sheild/armor/barrier way the **** out there

I'm having an okay amount of fun with it. I kind of regret sticking with Soldier from my import but....starting at Level 30 with everyone is just...so tempting.

soldier is the most boring class

i cringe every time i see a buddy playing this game as a soldier, the other classes just have so much fun stuff to utilitze

i love making biotic explosions everywhere (my shepard recharges so fast that i can do self combinations, warp to throw is a dead character)

Don't get me wrong, I play as Engineer in Multiplayer, and when I get the Turian Sentinel, I'll use that too. In the meantime, I might try Infiltrator for a bit.

if you change your class with an imported character, do you still keep the level?

i have a soldier at level 30 but i don't want to use him as a soldier, so can i change that or am i stuck?

at this point I am just waiting for others here to complete the game so I can gauge experiences and specifically thoughts on ME3's completion.

I'm avoiding this thread, actually, until I play ME3 myself. I had a friend spoil both ME1 and ME2 for me, and I did not enjoy that one bit.

I've already accidentally spoiled myself on
EDI getting a body
by accidentally putting my mouse over a spoiler tag. :urg:

I'd assume most of us already know because the ending was leaked a week before the game came out.
even if you got a possible ending leak it is far different for those who play it and see it play out. Can't wait till everyone finishes. Good luck everyone.

Ye-nooo...The ONLY thing I knew about beforehand was that one thing I PM'd you about, and I assure you it was NOT the ending. I don't know any story things other than what I've played through, and until I've at least beaten the game and gotten the best ending for myself, I'd prefer to keep it that way.

Also Mood, I think if you change classes with an imported character, you start at Level 1, and if you keep if the same you start at level 3 with your skill branches already out a bit (I know with me stuff was relatively as I left it).

What I can confirm, is when I imported my Soldier, who made it to level 60 in ME1, then transferred to ME2 (Started at level 5). When I ported him in to ME3, he started at level 30. I don't know if you just transfer with your level intact, or if it's a perk for having that character transfer from ME1->ME2->ME3.

I got the Phaeston last night in single player.

I like it. I like it a lot.

It's like, a more accurate Revenant.

It made me finally dump the Avenger in SP.

Yeah, the Phaeston's a good gun, though I don't have it in Single Player yet. I actually got it in my Starter Pack for Multiplayer, so I was quite happy with that.

Nice!

Do you remember if it's a 'gold' or 'silver'?

Just wondering where I should be expecting it.

I'm actually not sure, sorry. I never really check those things. But since I've only played Bronze difficulty on it (including the Beta), I'm probably the wrong guy to ask.

So, I accidentally came across something (While I was just trying to look for something on Conrad Verner since he's 100% removed from PS3 versions of ME2 and ME3) that can happen if you make the wrong choice in one situation. I'm not going to say what it was, when it was, who it involves, or anything of the sort to anybody, but it's odd...part of me's glad that I can now avoid it, but part of me wishes I hadn't known about it so that if it happened I would be shocked.

Edit: Pretty much this means...don't look up ANYTHING ME3 related on Youtube, or even the ME Wiki until you've beaten the game, lol.

There's a lot of dramatic things that can happen.

Also does anyone know if Tali's a permanent squaddie? I don't pay much attention to her so she's slipped under my radar when it comes to information. Anyway I just got the bit with EDI.

She should be. I recall she was on the list of permanent squaddies.

Small spoiler stuff since it's referencing where I am in my playthrough now, but just figured I'd comment. So uh...unless you're midway through or more (hell, I don't think I'm more than 20% of the way through, and that would be stretching it, but just to be safe, lol), then uh...yeah, don't highlight it.

It's good to see Kasumi back, even if she was a bit cynical at first. Hearing her still crushing after Jacob was good for a laugh, but I got the crap scared out of me with that whole "arrest the corrupt Hanar, and oh crap there's a bomb!" bit. Also, since I just went through Grissom Academy, I have to say, the new Jack is awesome. I think she has a lot more depth to her character now, and seeing her try so hard NOT to swear is a nice little touch.

Grimson Acadamy spoilers:

So it was a bit of a surprise to bump into David Archer, and even more of a surprise when he turned to EDI and apologised for trying to take control of her in ME2. Their brief little exchange was my highlight of that mission oddly, though I enjoyed all of it.

Grissom Academy (sorry brah, had to look it up)

I loved Grissom Academy. I loved running into Jack, and David was great. I love the little throwbacks to things they keep throwing in. Like this one:

I'm loving the nods and throwbacks to other games. Like this from
Lair of the Shadow Broker
on
Surkesh, the Salarian Planet when you're getting the female Krogan
:

One of the Yahg busts out of it's cell, kills a Cerberus trooper, and runs off...

Shepard: There goes the next Shadow Broker!:smirk:
Garrus: I think I heard it muttering "T'soni"... :troll:
Liara: ... That's not funny... :glare:

I just LOVED that.

Yeah, I know ODIN. Except I missed the last bit (the part with the :glare: ) because I forgot to bring the squadmate who says it, and brought the new guy instead. It....isn't the same when the rest of the chat's there except for the last bit.

That being said, I LOVE the chatter between the various crew members on the Normandy as you go around. Even though I only played ME2 and saw just bits of ME1, this to me like..."feels" like the Normandy is 'supposed to' or something, if that makes sense.

Totally! I love how your crew isn't always in the same spot.

At one point (not sure if scripted, and not a BIG spoiler, but I'll tag anyway)
Vega and Garrus were swapping "War Stories" in the crew cafeteria. It was awesome.

Vega is quickly turning into a bro for me. I don't like his random "Loco" quips, but that's because I know Freddie Prince(?) Jr. isn't Hispanic/Mexican whatever. I know the character is but... Eh. He's still doing a good job. I've gone from hating the character, to liking him a lot. He's not a total meathead.

I mean, he is. But in a Garrus kind of way.

So I red boxed the game yesterday, and pretty much tanked a good chunk of it in two sit throughs. Now that I'm back home from college, gonna have to find another red box around here to use and finish the game. Is it just me, or does the game feel shorter? People have been finishing the game around the 30 hour or less mark, while at least, attempting to do everything.

Red box is a rental service here in the U.S. They have big red, well, boxes outside convenience stores where you can use a credit card to rent movies or games from them. They have less of a selection than brick and mortar stores, but they're extremely convenient.

There are also typically several in a town; mine alone has 4-5 that I can think of off the top of my head.

(still religously avoiding spoilers for ME3, haha.)

I'm still going through ME2, and it's still great. I love the loyalty missions.

On top of that, they are cheap as well. 2 dollars a day, so if you are not interested in buying a game that you feel won't be a bang for your buck or know the game is short...works wonders. It's how I got through Batman: AC, and AC: Revelations.

Yup, pretty much.

Think Netflix, except they charge you daily with less of a selection.

I have no idea how far I am, and I tend to do a lot of sidequest stuff.

ME2 was doable in 30-40 hours I think. Depends on what you do.

Yeah. The thing about Mass Effect is...it never feels like you've put as much hours in as you have. Like, I'm 18 hours in and feel like things just got started. Though, I just get this odd feeling something bad's gonna go down just by the nature of stuff. And plus, nothing terribly heartbreaking's gone and happened.

So I was able to bypass that character bug jazz and finally got my ME1 face back to where it belongs.

Been playing for a couple hours. Does anyone else just take the time to check every area thoroughly for chatting or hidden equips?

You're not alone in that. I go all over for stuff like that to try and get as much out of the game as possible.

Lol, I spent 55 hours in ME2, just because I kept going through all the floors on the Normandy so I could talk to everyone after every mission. Probably extended my play through by 10 hours. I feel like I don't need to make that same mistake again.

Lol at Wrex's reaction to the Prothean. I actually burst out laughing, I must still be feeling the effects of saturday night or something.

Edit:

You can barely tell Mordin has a different voice actor, they pulled that one off well I have to admit.
