It's quite possibly that its merely because my friend is simply better than me (and I think that's probably at least part of it), but yes, I do need help. I have read the matchup thread and all. I just can't seem to put it into practice and beat him consistantly. A large part of it is that I have trouble killing him

Force him to the ledge, edgeguard and edgehog.

Alternatively you could force him to be high and predict and Utilt him.

Just keep the pressure, you'll totally **** Toon Link. Plus remember he sucks at killing more so.

AT CoT4 this past weekend, NEO got 2-0ed by a texas metaknight player named DOJO then 2-0ed again by a texas metaknight player by the name of INFINITY. RoyR beats and or goes even with these 2 meta knights.
Not to mention, below are some vids versus the best samus in the USA(me) and a peach/meta/wolf user named KaloKross. Im only posting this here cause royr has some MEGA old vids on front page and these need to be put on there.

for the record, royr is the best marth in the usa

Wow, you think it's only gonna be 1, maybe 2 rounds since the vid is about 6 mins, but it ends up being 3 X_X

Very entertaining.

Edit: Referring to the set vs Kalo's Peach/Wolf

Anyway, I don't think people can really decide right now without being biased, why not wait for more OOS tourney results?

Yes, royr does not joke around. he seriously is AMAZING!


oh and for OOS results. go look at OHSNAP4 in the results board. its the most recent(december) results royr for OOS. 5 different states went to this event and roy got 2nd out fo 112 people

Didn't RoyR get whopped across the face by Dojo the last time he faced him? It was in both Grand AND Winner's Finals and RoyR got beaten if I'm not mistaken. This was at OH SNAP! too, a competition of similar scale for your region right? i.e. High level competition...just not as big as CoT4.

Yeah don't use Inui logic. Also Kalo's Peach blew massive chunks, so predictable -_-;

Uh, okay, so let me get this straight, if I ever beat anyone who Neo or Roy_R lost to, that makes me the better Marth, right? Awesome.

To Roy_R if he happens to be lurking: Please don't be offended by anything said here. From what I've seen, I believe Neo is the best Marth. However, you are definitely a top candidate for 2nd best Marth and that's merely my unimportant personal opinion. ALL the Marth players here have the utmost respect for you, including NEO.

guys, i think roy R has better tourney results (though neo has better competition in his area), and Neo got 2-0'd by Dojo and infinity. Roy does not, infact he beats infinity whenevr they play, and him and dojo are even. just watch the matches. Roy just has so much more matchup experience, IMO.

Sorry to sidetrack the discussion but I want to clear this up real quick:

I haven't played RoyR in tournament since Final Smash 4, which was like April(?) of last year. I played a handful of friendlies with him at Oh Snap and we were going even the whole time. Saying Roy beats me when we play is a little silly since I've only ever played him twice and gone completely even with him both times :p

IIRC, I only played ~10-15 Brawl teams friendlies at CoT4 and besides that I only played my tournament sets. I tried really hard to avoid playing Brawl as much as possible :laugh:.

I play against probably one of the better Lucas's (Tyr_03) regularly, as he's in my music theory class. I can try to get some vids of Marth vs. him if you guys want a few.
