What do you guys think is the best Kart combo? I would have to say the Sprinter and Daisy.
Now that the online scene has developed a bit, here's how the vehicles break down:

Bikes: in general these do better than karts. The wheelie is a bit more useful than the superturbo, so bikes tend to overcrowd online.
Internal drifting: A feature held by all the best bikes, generally considered an advantage because it makes cornering faster and easier. A bike with internal drifting will have a much easier time with sharp turns like the ones in "GCNMario Circuit" and "DK Mountain" than other vehicles, although it can be a nuisance with gradual turns.

Big 3 bikes: These are the bikes most commonly used competitively. They have the best overall combination of stats (good top speed, drift, miniturbo, wheelie, internal drifting).
-Bullet Bike
-Mach Bike
-Flame Runner

High Speed Bikes: difficult to control, occasionally used
-Sneakster
-Spear

Offroad bikes: occasionally used
-Magikruiser
-Dolphin Dasher
-Phantom

Big 4 karts: As far as you're concerned, these are the only karts in the game. They're the only ones fast enough to keep up (marginally) with the bikes, but they require some creative use of external drifting to master, so they're not common.
-Mini Beast
-Wild Wing
-Flame Flyer
-Honey Coupe

Other karts: Have significant flaws but also significant strengths that can make up for it sometimes.
-Jetsetter on automatic (fastest vehicle in the game, too hard to control in manual)
-Piranha Prowler (heaviest vehicle in the game. When you hit someone, you win)

As for the character stats: they barely make a difference. You'll see a lot of Funky Kong and Daisy, but for vehicles other than the big 3, it doesn't really matter. Go with what works.

I'm a kart guy. I'm still pissed off with the whole bike concept. I'm pissed off with how unbalanced wheelies are, so I've been rocking with Dry Bowser on a Honeycoupe, and I can go toe to toe with bikes on most levels.

Now, you may say "but Bees, I've been using the Offroader and doing just fine!" Well in most casual online matches, any vehicle can do well with a good driver, because of the item randomness, the skill level of your opponents, and because of the wide variety of vehicles your opponents will use. When you start racing 11 other >9000s, you'll find that you won't keep up with them, and you'll spend a lot of time in 12, jumping up to 7th with bullets and star powers occasionally.

True. I never use my Rosalina + Offroader combination unless I'm playing offline with friends casually. Online, I use Baby Daisy + Bullet Bike for the best results. Still, there are waaay too many 9000+ Funky Kongs out there.

Oh yes, I love using the Big Three. Rosalina + Flame Runner, for me.

Did you copy that guide from Gamefaqs? Tt looked very similar, or maybe the same.

yeah I got my info from gamefaqs, although I don't consider some of the offroad bikes viable (Wario Bike... too slow in my experience, although it's fun in casuals). Nobody in their right mind would use a Jetsetter or Prowler. I have seen crazy people do it though.

And yes, I wish the offroader were better. :( It's way too fun, and it looks too cool to never get used, but it has too much of a speed deficit.

A few times that I've done Wi-Fi races, I've done various combinations. So far, the combos that I've used below had good results at times.

Funky Kong + Flame Runner
Luigi + Mach Bike
Baby Luigi + Bullet Bike
Toadette + Magikruiser

I've also tried combos like Toad on the Quacker and even tried Dry Bowser on the Honeycoupe. Thing is, you need to take into account the courses that you're racing on too.

OMG!!! I thought the online prevent people from using chreat codes. Oh great this is just like Tetris DS with infinite L blocks. -_-;

I use it on computers only but on real people is just no fun at all. Good job owning his hacking azz. :D

I've used the Flame Runner, Dolphin Dasher, Phantom, and Wario Bike a lot lately. I went back and started to work on Bowser on a Flame Flyer, which has become my primary configuration. I really need someone who does speed bikes (Spear, Sneakster) to weigh in on how these levels look for Grand Prix.

Mushroom Cup -
Luigi Circuit - Big 3 and speed bikes have an implied advantage, but the course is too short for it to be significant, so the outcome hinges on item luck, 'random' course
Moo Moo Meadows - neutral course
Mushroom Gorge - neutral course
Toad's Factory - neutral course

Shell Cup -
Peach Beach - great for big 3 bikes, offroad bikes (wheelie through water = win)
Yoshi Falls - pretty neutral stage for every vehicle.
Ghost Valley - great for karts
64 Mario Circuit - pretty neutral stage for every vehicle, great offroad shortcut

Flower Cup -
Mario Circuit - Great for big 3
Coconut Mall - good for big 3 and karts
DK Summit - good for big 3
Wario's Gold Mine - Big 3 again

Banana Cup -
Sherbet Land - Great for offroad bikes, bad for other bikes, horrible for karts
Shy Guy Beach - Even better for offroad
Delphino Square - Slight edge for bikes in general
Waluigi Stadium - Big 3 again, turn at the end is tough for everyone else

Star Cup -
Daisy Circuit - Karts (the cones do nothing to karts), and Offroad (take shortcut every time, free item!), really tough corners for some vehicles
Koopa Cape - Neutral
Maple Treeway - Neutral
Grumble Volcano - Neutral

Leaf Cup -
Desert Hills - Big 3, Offroad (what a surprise there)
Bowser's Castle SC - Neutral? Gotto be good at right angle turns here.
DK's Jungle Parkway - Offroad Bikes. Another skill level.
Mario Circuit GCN - This level is more about whether you can do the 120 degree turn at the beginning or not, and whether you can do the end part without hitting Goombas or offroad patches (which have too much friction to be useful for offroaders).

Special Cup - All of these are skill levels. And the first three are fairly balanced for the different vehicle classes.
Dry Dry Ruins - Neutral, maybe Offroad.
MoonView Highway - I'm gonna say neutral, maybe big 3.
Bowser's Castle - Bikes and Karts with sharper turning will have an edge here.
Rainbow Road - heavy Karts, the heavier the better (everyone else gets knocked off the sides). Bowser on a Piranha Prowler is utterly hilarious here.

Lightning Cup -
Mario Circuit 3 - Karts
Peach Gardens - Vehicles on Automatic, unusually
DK Mountain - Big 3 by miles
Bowser's Castle - Bikes in general. So horrible for Karts it's not even funny.

Dry Bowser + Wario Bike (fave character + fave bike)

Oh, and if anyone's played against a liscene mii based on Dr.Eggman, that would be me. :)

I find it more fun to play riding a Kart then the Bike. Bike's are to most used thing in Wifi and they uselly win. But I know how to use my Kart, (Mini Beast, Tiny Tighten for Toadette), and win agenst Bikes. I wish I had Wifi in my house instead of going to my friends house.

Yeah, karts have been unappreciated. All karts do external drifts and many people have mentioned that wheelies are better than yellow spark mini-turbos.

It has gotten a little old, but the ratings keep me in it.

The game frustrates me so much with it ridiculous rubber band gameplay, lower ranked players (in battle) being impervious to almost all supershrooms, stars, or mushrooms, people getting a ridiculously better set of items than others, and just the simple fact it does so much to screw over the better players.

I don't even play this when my friends play anymore, they like to make it all competitive and about bragging rights but the game is so luck based that as long as you know how to stay on the road and use items you can come first. I don't even play online because it's the same crap, I get in first, blue shell to red shell to god knows what else to last place where I struggle to get something other than 3 mushrooms.

Just before I stopped playing I started screwing around and hanging back in last just behind 11th and I found that if you had a star [or super mushroom] and a box was coming up you could just use the star, get another last place item and at least get in the top 4 depending on how far everyone is, my friends saw this, copied it and soon the game degenerated into last place item hogging and since I'm not the kind of guy to ban strategies I just let it happen.

It was fun at first but it's stale now.

If only they didn't put a cap on the VR points of 9999. Or at least they should have had people start at 0 and go into the negatives if they lost points.

Its fun to play once in the while but I think that the first 16/32 courses (first 2 new and retro) are really luck based and depend on items. However I love all the special cup courses because the really good players can get away and things like blue shells won't stop them from winning.

Battle Mode also feels really really boring to me.

it became really stale for me as well, I'm kinda glad my wifi died
I find you both sick and wrong for saying those words together in that sentence. D:< Me I can't stand not having wifi and I'm going crazy for not playing my games online now. DX

Do you guys think MKW will last as long as MK:DD? Explain your answer.
(i feel like a teacher)
I think it will, oh my bad it has to. Not only this game has Wifi so you can race forever and such but this game has more courses, more karts to choose from, and Toadette is at her prime and can't be stopped. I love that pink shroom shroom. <3

Agrees on that,I wouldn't know what to do either if I didn't have wifi after playing alot offline races like MKWii has.

it became really stale for me as well, I'm kinda glad my wifi died
And you would also not be able to play other wifi games & download VC games & Wii ware game if it's dead.
