Speaking of leads, I want an opinion. My team is zero(b)/wolvie(b)/sentinel(a/b) normally in this order. Is zero a good character to lead? Also what opinions do you have on assists? I normally alternate sentinels assist because im not sure which is better. Also I should probably have an AA assist. Would zero or wolvie be better for that?

Zero is an awesome lead, and can build meter like a champion. But the good ones make him look insanely hard to use. However when I look at your team, I'm not actually sure what you expect out of Wolverine. Wolverine is best used as your point character, because he uses assists really well. It's also harder to DHC into him than it is to say, DHC into Zero.

What I might suggest considering perhaps is finding a way to get Zero into his powerup super, and then abuse his Hadongeki assist. You don't really need to worry about anti-airs if you're managing characters like Wolverine and Zero who can run around at the speed of sound on command. You just need to practice your approaches and learn practical combos.

I don't really feel your team actually needs an AA assist honestly, although if you're really insistent on it, Zero's Ryuenjin > Wolverine's Tornado Claw. Also Sentinel Drones assist is generally the way to go. Easiest to use as approach cover and for hit confirming combos.

I might (a big might) try going to Apex 2012...Here's to hoping. Really hard to go to tournaments when I live where no one plays Brawl during the summer :/.

Wii 2 coming next year everyone. I hope we can still use the gamecube controllers though.
I can't wait! :)

Mario is going to be on my thirds-list for characters besides Wario Pit and (in fourth) Jiggs. He's currently competeting with Lucario for the third position. I just want to use someone that isn't represented that much in the MW. I think Xero's got it covered... right?

I'd stay away from it Matt, but I personally prefer other fighting games so eh. I'd at least recommend renting it beforehand or playing a friend's copy.

Meh, it's a lot simpler and more likely to kill to just bair and edgehog IMO(Unless you're fighting someone like MK <_<).

SKidd you don't even know about my Fair apparently, that move is actually really good. Retreating Fair against shields can't be shieldgrabbed by anybody to my knowledge, and it leads into nice mixups. Hitting with it on- OH WAIT I HAVE A THREAD ABOUT THIS. YOU CAN READ THAT. (Even though I might have left out some stuff)

Meh, I don't like Mario's fair, unless some insane team setup is involved :p

Wish his fair was like it was in Melee...

So guys help me out. I kinda want a game console next year since I won't be living in a dorm. Should I get a wii so I can practice by getting on the wifi status or should I get a 360? Honestly, PS3 doesn't intrigue me. Also, should I get a fight stick for 360 (have one at home) and how much are they?

The thing is I've always been a sucker for Nintendo. That's why I have the 3DS and am patiently waiting for the new games to come out. I would probably get DK Country with it at least. Probably get someone to hack it so I can play multiplayer games like the good Mario Parties.

Wifi is horrible... I only play wifi when I have no gas to go out.. *shakes fist at gas prices. If you decide to get it though, I'll be more than happy with play with you whenever Inferno :]

If you get a 360, and want to be good at fighters.. a fight stick is almost essential if you plan to go out to the arcades. There's some research to do bout fight sticks, to know what are good and what not.. and could get costly, but they're really nice. The good ones goes from 100-160sih. Or you could buy a 30 dollar one, and swap out the parts/customize it. I have my own stick for when I play SSF4, but for MvC3, I use my controller since I'm unsure on what the arcade button layout would be.

I say just pick whatever you have more friends to play with. I rarely play my 360 unless my friends message me to go on. I use both my 360 and Wii as a media player to play movies and what not off of xD

The big thing going for me getting a wii is smash and that I play it competitively. The downside is that tournaments are so far away and I don't have a car yet. With the 360, it's big thing is shooter games and I'm not the biggest fan (I've enjoyed playing Halo 3 every now and then. Not a big COD fan) but I don't see enough reason to get a PS3. I would probably get Guitar Hero and/or Rock Band because those are always fun to play with people. And then of course I would get MvC3, probably BB:CS, and maybe SSF4.

As I said, I'm kind of a sucker for Nintendo. I have loved it since I was a kid. I can get hacked and cube games on it. Plus I've been meaning to play DK Country Returns for a LONG time. Probably will get Skyward Sword as well. Right now I'm really hoping 3DS doesn't let me down. I'm already planning to get Paper Mario, Mario Kart, and Kid Icarus. Megaman Legends 3 sounds really hype. I was thinking of getting OoT and Star Fox 64 but I don't feel like they will really be worth it if they are just remakes.

I only play my 360 with other people, Rock Band and what not... I goto school almost every day though, and if I'm not at school, I'm hanging out at my friend's place, or at my girlfriend's place.. where we either go out... or play Rock Band xD

However, your situation might be different, and you might not have accessibility to people as much as I do, as you said you're moving out of the dorms. So.. even if you WERE to get a 360 to play with people... would you? And how often would you?

For the Wii, mine's hacked. I have a hard drive loader, and downloaded a bunch of games </pirate>. This had save me a LOT of money, cause a bunch of games I've been hyped for, I downloaded... and was truly disappointed. Of course, if I like the game, I buy it... however it's been a while since I bought one for the Wii. However, hacking a Wii isn't only for bootlegging crap, the homebrew scene is pretty nice too, as I mentioned earliar, I use my Wii mostly for a media player.

The 3DS I actually REALLY want, but for the $250 price tag... you have to think about it... a handheld with like crappy battery life(or so I heard), or a PS3/360? What I'm really waiting for is for a price drop... which won't happen any time soon, so possibly a sale.

I bought a 360 because I was tired of not having friends when I bought games...just saying
Lmao, QFT. PSN's kinda desolate compared to Xbox live.

@Inferno: I agree with everything Kanzaki said. Like...everything.

Get a stick and get a 360. Wifi will get very old, very quick. You have to REALLY be detatched from the whole "this is laggy as ****" part of wifi to get anything from practicing with it. Also, there's the fact that the Wii is a defective system and you WILL be sending it back to Nintendo after about a year. That is, you will be if you use discs rather than a hard drive to play your games.

I still love PS3, but honestly, a better fit for you would be a 360 + Arcade stick. Plenty of people online, plenty of fighters to choose from, and all that fun stuff.

@Fire: Lol, 5 days is a looooong time. My poor brother had no PSN for his entire spring break.

Arcade button layout for MvC3 is...

Light - Medium - Heavy
Launch - P1 - P2

6 button layout. 3 on top and 3 on bottom. Also, you want Xbox and an arcade stick. Then you can play with Xero online on the rare occasion that I decide to actually get on my Xbox. WiFi blows. Also, if you plan on buying SF at all I would recommend waiting for the Arcade Edition to come to consoles. Unless you can find SSFIV for really cheap and it would just be cheaper to buy it as DLC.

You do have to pay for online. But you still get what you pay for, and the servers don't go down for 5 days at a time.

Is anybody here familiar with the inside of fightsticks and whatnot? I want to completely swap out all my buttons and put in a PS360 PCB, and make it wired instead of wireless. And then it should be decent because the Tekken 6 stick sucks.

Hmmm... Xero if you're ever at a tournament with Jellytime again (Iskascribble's brother), he would probably be able to help you with that.
I decided not to bother with all of that and just got a tournament stick from the get-go. And yeah, that Tekken stick is attrocious. I think the TVC stick might even have been better >.<
