There's actually been something that's been bugging me alot recently, and I've just been unable to hide it lately... It's a really weird thing, but I just feel very unsettled as of late...

I dunno, it's nothign THAT major, but it is weird...maybe I'll mention it tomorrow. I probably will, I'm too tired to go into detail tonight.

Tee-freaking-hee. :p

Nothing really of note going on on my end. Had a date (my first) a week ago (we went to see Narnia too, Remo. Great movie). Guy wasn't my type, but it wasn't a bad time or anything.
Heh, yeap. Same here. I guess I forgot to report about the date. I had a nice time. We went to a local restaurant that he recommended and then we saw the movie. Like Blink said, he just really wasn't my type. He's a really nice guy, but we just didn't click. But, over all, it was a good night and worth it, though there probably won't be another date, heh.

Maybe the problem was he was too nice, maybe you are looking for a bad boy type eh? I don't know you or what you want but that may be something to look in to.

So was Narnia any good? Cause I don't want to spend money to see a crappy film.

Heh, if anything, I was too nice. I'm a really shy, supernice guy and I like guys who're the same way, heh. I'm not into the whole bad boy thing. People like that just seem like jerks. Narnia was alright. I'm not the type to go to movies like that, but my date is really into Science Fiction/Fantasy. But, yeah, it wasn't a bad movie.

My friend is a homosexual.

There's no such thing as "Too Nice", believe me.
I feel like there are other things you can go overboard on, but never general niceness. ;O

Yes, people can be too nice... I mean it's one thing if everybody was nice to eachother, but if somebody is being a complete ******* to you and you just laugh it off and be super nice to them then I think you're being too nice... I sometimes feel that I'm too nice, then at other times I just don't give a **** and act how I feel. <.<;

I am pretty crazy... and not in the funny way. ^^; If I said how I was crazy, nobody would reply and start a new conversation because it'd be pretty akward to talk about and also it's kinda personal. @_@;

Uhhh... a-anyway! ^^; I uhhh... I got an award in school, I dunno for what though. It's probably just for something stupid like perfect attendance. <.< Stupid award ceremony, you see I REALLY didn't want an award... all the people who win awards have to walk ALL THE WAY up to the stage in front of a lot of people, take the award, and walk ALL THE WAY back to their seat... but I know I can't do it. I get nervous VERY VERY VERY easily, I might trip, I'll probably sweat from the nervousness, I'll get lost on the way back to my seat, I'll make an idiot of myself, and I might trip again. Yes, something so simple turned into a big deal, I remember for 8th grade graduation I kinda stumbled on somebody's foot to get out of the aisle to get to the stage. I can't even walking to my table in the cafeteria! >.< *sigh* I'm hopeless... -_-; If only I could miss school... but my dictator of a mom won't let me. <.<

I call that "taking the high road". :p
Seriously. People can be assholes.
I refuse to acknowledge the idea of being "too nice".

Also: Momo, I tried to send an IM so as to inquire about your alleged craziness, but I guess you're buddy list only. :x

Hehe! I guess it depends on the person. =P

Oh I'm not on AIM right now... I would be but it's a long story... concerning my mom, her *****iness, and my craziness. I'm using her laptop (which doesn't have AIM) which I just fixed today even though it was my mom's fault she got a virus on it and she gave me a really hard time. <.<;

Ah.
Well, there's always Meebo if you want to use AIM without installing a client. (I personally use Pidgin, though.)
I'm always online, whether I'm actually at my computer or not, though.
Toss me an IM whenever. :p

Trillian is good too. You can have ALL of your instant messenger clients up at the same time, without actually having the client installed. As long as you have a username it works.

The trick to getting over this sort of nervousness is to have a whole heap of fun with it. Chuckle a lot and skip your way up to the stage, strike a victorious anime pose when recieving it, shout out a battlecry upon grasping the award, and skip daintilly back to your seat. Or something. I find that completely random fun eradicates all nervousness.

When I was in year twelve (good grief, but it feels like a long time ago), I was the president of the events committee. As such, at the end of the year and at graduation, I was to stand up in front of all the year twelves, the school's head staff, principality, parents and family, and the like and, in this serious, important event, calmly list out the names of those who were being noted.

I did this. I also quoted Jim Carrey from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

The principal was not amused. I however, was. I was very very amused.

Salutations!

Gentlemen!

I have read through all 141 pages of this thread, and I feel like I know you all, but you do not know me. :)

I joined entirely to post in this thread, because I want to support what it represents; namely, gay gamers (who play smash!) having a place to talk about anything without fear of reprisal.

So onto introductions:

I am a gay male who is 25 years of age. I have a boyfriend, and I've been in a relationship with him for over 4 years now. (no, he is not really a gamer. :) )

I am also from the state of Indiana. I am surprised by the number of you who are!

I also am fairly athletic; I work out daily and have a pretty good self image. (So take that, whoever said athletic nerds don't exist! ;))

I'm a computer programmer by trade, so I am a pretty hardcore geek by most people's standards.

I love nintendo franchises, and I play with my wii pretty frequently(lol innuendo).

If there is anything else you guys want to know about me please ask!

I hope I can contribute to this community, as it has really inspired me in many ways.

Welcome to the thread I am gay for De De De! ^^ ... I can't believe you read through over 100 pages... @_@; How long did it take? O.o

Auuu, I couldn't do that... not all by myself anyway. ._.
Though today I was on the morning announcements for getting perfect attendance... which makes me wonder what the other award is for. O_o; I was pretty nervous since each person had to walk up to the teacher, shake her hand, and take a card from her... but it was better than doing so in front of the whole school in person. >.<
I was in Band for around 5 years and I was always nervous before performing, but being in a group of people helped me out a lot and I was always in the middle where not as many people could see me (though that wasn't the case ALL the time), also I just focused on the music I played instead of the audience and if I messed up I just wouldn't make a big deal out of it... unfortunately I forgot how to do that stuff since I quit Band in 9th grade. ._.; Now EVERYTHING is a big deal... maybe I should go out and do more stuff so I can get used to it more...

I am SO freakin' happy right now.

The gay lottery eh? I wonder if that exists somewhere? Either way, you should tell everyone why you are happy. If it is seriously something awesome, I'll give you a cookie.

I'm not gay, but I don't believe in gay bashing or anything remotely close to it.
I believe you should be accepted and loved just like anybody else.

Gah, you people post too fast for me: I'm always having to catch up to the conversation. And no, I'm not even going to attempt to make my summary as full of hilarity as Faora's.

- yeah, my date was a really nice guy too (I'd start to wonder if we were on the same date, Remo, if the sheer logistics of that make it impossible). He really made too much of an effort to be "likeable" for me, and it just came off as a little... bleh.

- dude, I'd totally go for the "bad boy" type, though I wouldn't go out of my way to find one :p

- loved Narnia. I was kinda "meh" about the first one, but the action this time around was hella good and actually had some strategic logic to the battles (unlike the first's "let's hold the high ground with archers, but then send our entire melee forces way out into the open plain against superior numbers, and out of range of our archers")

- lol to Lobelia the French Maid.

- yes, there is such a thing as "too nice". It's very irritating.

- lol'ing at the thought of Momo staying home the day he gets the perfect attendance award. Yay for irony!

- +20 points of awesome to Faora. Would have been +30 if I didn't have such a hate on for Jim Carrey.

- as everyone else has said: Desu. Spill. Now.

- go New York and stuff.

- welcome to the thread/boards I am gay for De De De (noice job on the name :p)

- Momo: join every club possible in an attempt to see how many times you can get in the yearbook. It may be fun, and it'll probably help you get around that whole "nervous at everything" dealio.

- thanks, Popertop, for the post.

So I've been thinking for awhile about how wonderfully inclusive this board is; we've got gay guys, lesbians, bisexuals, even transgendered folks and I think that's great.

However...

There seems to be one type of guy who is not welcomed with open arms here, and I am referring to the effeminate man. I'm not saying there is hate on this board; far from it. I am merely saying that the nelly queens around here seem to get a bad rap.

Now, I can perfectly understand if you are not attracted to effeminate men, but to say things like "haha those flamers are so scary, I sure wouldn't want to be with one" is exclusionary! It's hypocritical to have a thread which is about tolerance of sexual identity and freedom to express yourself, and then turn around and condemn them for being different. It is the same stripe of ignorance straight people are painted with for not having any gay friends; I'm sure if you knew an effeminate guy in real life you wouldn't have this attitude at all.

I'm going to back off a bit and acknowledge that there are guys and gals in this thread who have no problems with flamers and nelly queens, but after reading all (140+) pages of this thread there were some comments which just did not sit well with me.

So gay smashers, I ask that we seek to eradicate any and all forms of inequality for everyone. How can we clean someone else's house if our own house is not in order?

I think the general concensus here is that while a lot of us aren't effeminate and may find that way of being either annoying or just hard to be around, we all can accept them if that's the way they are. If a guy came in here, sincerely talking about his facination with pink, Gucci (had to wikipedia that one), and how everything is "fabulous" and "fierce", he'd probably find just as warm a welcome as the nerdy gay guy, the Samus-loving lesbian, or the ****** who I thought was just another lesbian by the photo posted.

It's when they act effeminate simply to grab attention or to flaunt their sexuality that a lot of us frown upon. Just be yourself, and we'll support you.

So, here's the lowdown! A quick synopsis of a 5 hour long conversation that made me happy as a clam. (Apparently, clams are exceptionally happy...)

There's a guy!

He's so hot. :O~

Wow, he likes the same music as me!

... He's so damned hot.

His name is Sidney. :o

... Wow, we have a lot in common! :D

... Holy crap, we really do have a lot in common. o____o

Sigh... He's so my type, if only he were gay.

...

... He is gay?! He's probably taken though...

...

... He's single, too?!

...

... And I'm his type?!

...

DIGITS GET!

Aaaand that's it in a nutshell.
We're not really dating yet, but I think we probably will be within a month. ;P
I'll go further in depth on this later.
I was up all night playing TEH MEEREEE and I need a nap. ;o
