I didn't believe L.A. would lose at home either, but it's now a 2-3-2 format. I think only one team has ever won the middle three games.

Yeah because they went to the format pretty recently. And it was two teams at least. And two of those finals were jokes (Lakers vs nets and spurs vs nets) so of course nets wont win all three games they sucked. Miami won all three games, the Pistons won all 3 gamess agianst the Lakers, and against the Spurs the Pistons won 2/3, and were one miracle shot away from winning all three. Last year was a sweep again, the cavs sucked compared to the spurs. That statistic is pretty skewed. Every final that has actually been competitive while they were using this format, the home team either got all 3 or came real close to getting all 3. I don't believe any of those teams that failed to win all 3 were undefeated at home in the playoffs either.

Oops, meant to say, winning the middle three in the finals. And it was Deeeetroit in 2004. Although, if Kobe didn't rise up in Game 2, that Game 5 wouldn't have been needed. From what I've read, we can blame the 80s Boston and L.A. media for the 2-3-2 format.

Miami won all three games two years ago. Actually look at the trend

2004 - All three home games won. Road team wins.

2006 - All three home games won. Road team wins.

2008 - All three home games won. Road team wins. ;)

This is one of the most evenly matched finals series, though. Unless the officials give Kobe 20 FTA like Wade, it's not gonna happen.

I'm not betting on who wins the series; I expect the Lakers to, as they should be considered slight favorites.

I'm saying the Celtics will win at least one road game. So $25 for that, yes.

Here's a true story about Raiders fans.

My brother is a Dolphins fan for whatever reason, and so the only time we could see the Dolphins is when they played Oakland. So we went to see them about 12 years ago. My brother is 11 or 12 at the time and of course he's wearing his Marino jersey. Anyway the Dolphins ended up ****** them, and as we were walking out of the stadium, the goddam Raiders fans threw empty beer cans and whatnot at my brother. Fu
cking, adults throwing sh
it at an 11 YEAR OLD KID.

The massive Raider Nation is beyond doubt the sleaziest and rudest and most sinister mob of thugs and wackos ever assembled.

is the kind of fan that bases what type of person someone is based on the team they root for in sports.

Edreese is right! Hey Edreese do you support our Afghan soccer team? I loled when I heard ten or so members of the team took off in Italy. >.<

Raiders fans are hardcore fans...but they take it way to far...ruin the sport for everyone.

Pierce was freaking abused the whole game...

He still pulled up big and that is why he has always been my favorite player and everyone loled at me, but now I expect tons of bandwagon jumpers...irregardless enjoyable game. I wont talk smack, both teams had a close game.

kobe's been clutch more times than he's "choked"
nah, it's actually selection bias. kobe's proven he can't do it by himself (see lakers the previous three years), and the lakers had one of the worst records in close games in that time span. coincidentally, kobe shot his worst percentage in the 4th quarter, yet shot the most shots of anyone.

this year he's been a lot better thanks to having a competent big man in one form or another, and he can still win games, but as you see when the stakes get high, he still too often tries to take on the world and fails spectacularly. it's quite consistent now, and a lovely sight to behold.

against the jazz it didn't matter; their defense wasn't good enough. the spurs owned kobe, though, and kobe was a large reason the spurs had a chance to take two of those games, and win the one they did. and now the celtics are an even better defense; that's not going to fly, as you saw today. but that didn't stop kobe from trying to go one-on-three in the fourth, even after phil jackson took him out. the celtics were having serious problems scoring; the normally efficient laker offense could've easily made them pay. kobe made sure they didn't.
