Of course the series isn't over -- the Celtics aren't that much better a team that it's over. But this is why the NBA Finals setup is so stupid -- it doesn't give much of a chance to the road team once they lose one of the three home games. The Lakers have lost two.

the real black sheep
so apparently there was a guy holding up a whiteboard at my graduation and he was writing the score on it

people were watching it and they saw that the lakers were dominating and even had like a 17 point lead at one point

when I heard they lost I was just pissed off

haha **** i wish they had that at my graduation :ohwell:

The lead was up to 24 by the 2nd quarter btw, and the way I see it, Kobe tried to take over the 2nd half, as he usually does. Although Ray Allen was playing legit defense in the first half, Pierce switched to defending Kobe in the 2nd half, probably because he knew this as well. The C's stepped it up on both sides though it wasn't just Pierce =P

If only Kobe warmed up or at least made some field goals in the first half. He was so off during the second half when he needed to take over. His shot decisions were so bad and nothing would go in for him.

Prepare to see Kobe to take over Game 5.

The Celtics played good defense all game long but the Lakers had terrible defense in the second half. I want the Celtics to win in 6 so they win on their home court. XP

and btw, isn't it true that some Celtic fan got lynched after Game 4? Idk why my friends are telling me about it and I havent seen anything about it..

It's over, get over it. I can see the Lakers winning game 5 but that's it. Celtics are not going to lose 2 in Boston. And LOL at comparing a baseball series to a basketball series. Coming back from 3-1 in the finals has never been done. And if the refs are as bad as you claim, then the Lakers are truly screwed.

Celtics in 6. Even though it'd be much funnier in 5.
i didnt really compare baseball to basketball im was just talking about bostons sports history and how they shouldnt count anyone out....hell even the Pats did this against the giants they had that "we already won attitude" and looked what happen

and yea its never been done in history...but there is a first time for everything...also back to the redsox...was that the first time in history someone came back from down 3-0???? also i didnt say anything bad about the refs in game 4 so what are you talking about???? i know what i said about game 3 and they were horrible but not just against the lakers...i do believe i said boston got some pretty bad calls as well...

and also a true fan doesnt give up on there team not matter how bad things look so no i wont get over it....

Well again you do kinda compare the different sports. The Pats didn't exactly play a series, else they woulda won ;P. No doubt it could be done, the Celtics aren't THAT much better than the Lakers that they couldn't lose, but imo it's just not going to happen...3 in a row and losing both games at home i think is just a lil too much to ask for.

Definitely agree with this though; I'm the same way so I don't blame you haha. I never gave up on my team, the suns, even when they were down 3-0in the series, so don't let anyone tell you to give up on them haha

yea i know they pats didnt play a series, but they had that cocky attitude that the celtics are getting now, and that the yankees had against those redsox....(my bad for confusing people if i made it seem as if i was compareing the sports)

also yea everytime my team is down i dont give up on them..it sucks your suns didnt make it far...i was kinda hopeing the lakers would have been able to get a lil revenge on them for knocking the past couple years lol

Uhhh assumptions much? Did you have dinner with them or something?

Why do people think they're suddenly qualified to evaluate athletes on a personal level because they watched them play a couple of times on TV?

LoL The Celtics are winning because none of the all stars have an agenda. They sacrificed thier roles as the driving force of the team to win one championship which they all worked so hard for. I admire the Big 3 because they became very close to one another so quickly.

But we must look to the fact that no team with a 3-1 lead has ever lost the series and this fact and taking one in thier home with such a comeback is sure to affect Laker morale.

Meh. We're talking about professionals. "Morale" and "character" and etc. is quite overrated. You don't get to be one of the best at your particular job without learning how to deal with that along the way.

Fear not Lakers fans, I predict multiple 50+ point efforts from the always reliable Didier Ilunga-Mbenga, as well as a record breaking performance by Ronny Turiaf in game 5, in which he will block 476 shots.

lakers had a lot of defensive breakdowns this game, lol you shouldn't let an opposing player under the basket on an inbound lmao. But still held on to win. They need to learn to better defend against the pick and roll from pierce/garnet. As for offense I think odom should post up more cause he has a size/strength advantage against posey. Doc rivers put posey in there for spacing and 3-point shooting while leaving him at the power forward position, odom should take advantage of this. Posey isnt a real power forward so they should take advantage.

I honestly believe the cels are a better team, but that doesnt mean the lakers can't win. One game at a time I guess.

I dunno guys this is just an opinion . .. lol

^ Gasol won the game for the Lakers precisely because of that point: the Celts went small to score more effectively, and Gasol punished them on the boards as a result. He consistently got good looks, and as a result was very efficient.

It was a great game, probably the best of the postseason. Celts probably close this out in Game 6, but they shouldn't let the Lakers make this a series.

It's funny to hear everyone talk non-stop about Boston's "comebacks"....not sure why everyone has suddenly forgotten about the Lakers' 41 point 4th quarter of Game 2 in Boston.

The Lakers aren't as hopeless as everyone seems to think. We got ourselves a series.

Also, it's kind of hard to defend against Garnett's screens when he breaks the rules every ****ing time.

Seems fair.

What are you guys talking bout Chris Mihm won the game...haha

but seriously WTF Chris Mihm....lmao...but anyways, im surprised turiaf didnt get much pt...i think he may be able to help against the pick and roll....and someone needs to ****in slap Sasha in the face, i swear today we he had the ball he made me nervous as ****....he needs to quit shooting all the time an pass more....if he learned to make the extra pass he would be a way better player....

anyways lakers won and things are about to get interesting with the possiblity of Perkins not playing on tuesday im excited, i hope its a good game....

The lakers can win if they just play some real defense again. They stop doing it for long stretches.

i wonder what ray allen's situation is. i hope his kid is okay. Perkins can stay hurt though ^_^

yea your right if they play defense they can probally get the job done...but i think for there defense to be a lil better turiaf has to play more, i think he's a good phyical body that can play solid defense (well at least better then what they have shown the past 2 games) and this may sound crazy but i think that back up center frotaz metioned a few post ago may help because they need more big men in the middle to defend the paint and he may help just use him for another big body and have him pick up some hard fouls, chris mihm shouldnt be dressed for the next game...

The backup center that he mentioned was chris mihm so he'd have to be dressed for that to work haha. But remember that in order to put one of those big guys in, you'd have to take out a big guy like Odom or Gasol, who are better rebounders and defenders...even if Gasol kinda stands there sometimes hah. They would be good if either of them is in foul trouble, or if there's some weird need to pick up fouls i guess haha

Both offensively and defensively the Lakers have disappointed. No johns. People just overrate the importance of the most recent events.

Oh yeah, mark down another poor 4th quarter for Kobe, the King of Clutch. This is turning out to be the second Finals he's **** the bed in -- he was a large reason the Lakers lost to the Pistons too, with his 32% or whatever shooting.

yea i know the lakers already foul a lot, but wouldnt it be better for the bench players to pick up those fouls instead of pao and odom, but i do think turiaf needs more pt i think they should try a line up with sometime tomorrow, i also think they need to fix the starting line up a lil bit...

C-Pao
PF-Turiaf
SF-Odom
SG-Bryant
PG-Fisher

they also need to do something about the play of Radmanovich and i think if farmar can be more productive they have a good chance of taking game 6

They can't do that the whole game because Kobe will get tired and he'll also likely pick up fouls.

And rofl @ Vlad keeping up with Allen -- or anyone. Dude is a horrible defender.

Radmanovic is out there to spread the floor. I'm pretty sure Phil Jackson knows he sucks at defending.

Also, what the hell is with Radmanovic's shot? Rainbows all day.

Radmanovic is out there because he's better than the other ppl who could play his position. Turiaf could possibly be better defensively...possibly haha, but he's way more of an offensive force than Turiaf.
