It was fun seeing everyone again. Sorry for jetting before finishing my bracket, saturdays are my day to chill with my cousin and I didn't expect to be in the tournament so long.

Somehow I think this break has powered me up even more, I'm playing the best I ever have.

I want to do a smashfest during thanksgiving break - mentioned this to Web, Flip, and BW before I left.

Problem right now is that my relatives (aka little neice and nephew) will be staying at our house for the holiday (until sunday.) so it can't be at my place.

Can anyone else host, for Friday or Saturday? We could do a tournament at Dupage but I'd rather have a chill out n smash day.

I went all Charizard instead of Ike for this tournament, but I'm not johning; Rat can beat both my Charizard and Ike on a consistent basis, so it's no surprise he took first. Great stuff, Rat!

Does Rat have some sort of anti ike technology? There's no way! That character is so godlike, there's no way any living soul can approach him or challenge him, 0_o. He can zone or play rush down, ike doesn't care.

Well, good stuff representing charizard. Damn impressive. I thought that character was ***.

BTW! We need to play ppl when our paths cross again.

So yeah thanks guys for coming out. Kirk and I are thinking of making these biweeklies (which would require a name change) Meaning that the next one would be on the first of december. Any qualms?

Gonna take this as a serious question.

Short answer, yes. But it's not technology like anti-pheonix double aerial exchange tech. It's kinda match-up specific.



Spring
Sonic's spring is really good against Ike's QD recovery. The speed at which the Spring Falls kinda matches the Falling Speed of ike. Just kinda put it infront of him. He can DJ and mix-up his timing a bit, but it's on you to mess up.

His only option is to manually attack hit the spring to not enter special fall. But that gives you time to edgeguard his low recovery. (With Edgehog/Spring/Drop down Bair.) Also if you do it far out enough he's just dead.


Anti anti-pressure
Ike does not have the best anti-pressure tools. Keep up the pressure.

1) In Air his best options - getting wrecked
Juggle the **** out of him with overB. (Follow him up platforms like falco's shine.)

2) On ground his best options are - CC Jab, CC Grab.
- It's near impossible to shield grab sonic so no worries there.
- If he jabs you:
CC Buffer Shield -> OoS Punish
CC Down and Away -> Buffer Roll back
- If he jab DD grab:
CC Dtilt

This isn't a winning battle, (aka don't get jabbed) but the least you can do is make his life harder.



There's more stuff like Throw Gimp set-ups. (Which ike get's kinda wrecked by.) But I can save that for another time.

rat you failed to mention the most important part of using spring: placing it on the ground and your opponent is obligated to run and jump on it
