I think djbrowny is off on that one since I find that the firs hit of the Ftilt is a frame or two faster than the Dtilts hit. So not really sure.
It may also be the fact that hitboxes do travel. Like marths fsmash may come out on frame really early, but it has to travel all the way down. It may be an extra 10 frames before it reaches its final location.

Like personally, ftilt feels quicker, but that may just be because it reachers a certain range quicker than dtilt does. Dtilt probably only hits on frame 6 from reeaalllyyy really close.

the frames between marth hitting a bowser standing right up in his face and a squirtle at tipper range is only like 3 frames (i cant check it now). anyway i dont think i measured the frames on the 4% part of ftilt, only the 7%

I can try getting some down tilt numbers, but the best that I will be able to do will be based on a level 9 computer. The CPU probably won't DI out or attack at the earliest possible time. But the numbers I could get would at least give us an idea of what the very max would be. Would this be helpful to you at all or would you prefer not to waste time with it?

my new fav AT: not dying

specially against the likes of G&W, you can just run around him all day, drop plenty of srpings on his head at every opportunity and stuff. makes people mad.

srsly though, AC'ing uair is fun.
Dash -> SH cstick uair -> fast fall -> AC into dash attack/ftilt?
its sure to mess around with some characters spacing, the transition from the uair to DA is so fast i can only pull it off like 1/10 times without doing a dtilt instead (since im doing an isntant-dash attack using the cstick down)

Actually, yeah...... does anyone else feel like they live to unusually high %s with Sonic?

I've been thinking about this, cuz it really bugs ppl I play against

I know part of it's because I hardcore studied all that momentum-cancelling stuff, so I've got pretty good habits for it now... srsly this saves me like once a match on avg, sometimes more.... and Sonic's momentum-cancelling is awesome, fastfall Fair then down-B.... remember to use that even for vertical KOs!

But also, I guess it's because I have a good time avoiding laggy kill moves. When I get hit it's most often with quick defensive attacks, since I'm running in and out lots. And Sonic's reasonably heavy, too. <3

i find myself living to very hig %'s against everyone not named ganondorf, dair and dash attack KO'ing at 100% are just too hard to avoid constantly. Sonics moves really arent that punishable, i wish more character boards would realise that instead of assuming once sonic is in KO range, he wont get any higher :/ (unless its snake, of course)

got to 236% last tourney vs a pika player rofl

also moar ppl need to think about AC'ing uair before i make a video showing how awesome it looks when you cancel it into a DA :)

New Section!!!

Box Techs!!

Box Techs are almost the same as KID ATs except that they are created by my man Boxob instead of yours truly, I hope that he takes this idea and makes his own thread from it.

With that out of the way

Box Tech #1!!

Up air Spam!

It turns out that if you are at long range from your opponent and decide to repeatedly use SH AC up airs, it can quickly condition your opponent, thus setting up for a ground based assault using sonics amazing speed to to attack the opponent while they are confused as to how to counter theup air spam. Good moves to use this with, would be dash attack, and grab, just like 80% of situations with sonic, grab is the most damaging option and the best set up for the application of this move.

ok, so would getting some dtilt data on cpu's be helpful at all? i figure it would at least tell us the very maximum number of times that it could be done (you never know, you might have an opponent who actually DI's as bad as a cpu does due to either sucking or not expecting dtilt chains.) plus it would just give us a place to start at.

Not really, it would help against sucky people for sure, but this will have almost no use in real tournaments.

It might work on fast-fallers though, I heard. Still, it's kind of hard to string anymore than 3 DTilts because it moves Sonic forward, and pushes the opponents up in the air a bit. Something is already wrong with the opponent if they get hit with 3 DTilts anyway if they know to DI up and towards Sonic anyway.

well you can also turn yourself around by just holding down and the other direction. the main reason i was saying id do this was cuz KID has something in mind with the data and needs someone else to help compile the info. nobody is voluntering, and thats the best I can do.

I suppose that works, and I was being stupid by denying the existence of other moves, such as UTilt.

Actually the way the CPU's DI is actually great. When they are facing Sonic. They have a tendency to DI up to an extreme extent but they are too stupid to jump away or attack.

Edit: On another note I'll be getting a nice little code sometime next week or the week after. It'll slow the game down frame by frame and i may also have something to let us look at the actual hitboxes.
