I'm just trying to be more social so I'm not just some random Kirby who places decently well when I go to tournies. LOL. Community'n'all that :D And isn't the BR dead? I was going to join it, but Kewkky told me it was dead so I didn't bother.

Well, I hope whatever you're looking at is really helpful JoWii because you have everyone anxious/annoyed with you lol. Kinda hoping to see something different and useful once you write it up.

Fromundaman, what are the Air Dodge properties you keep mentioning? If it's something interesting I'd like to actually hear about it.

@tko: There hasn't been anything interesting in the KBR in over a year. I forgot it even existed tbh.
@tiersie: While that's true, it's frustrating to contribute so much but either have no one listen or at least give credit for it.

@RRR: Our AD has different properties depending on if we Ad forward or backwards. If we AD forward, we keep moving with the same speed and direction as before. If you AD backwards, you get increased aerial control and an increase in air speed. Basically you become like Jiggs for the ADs duration. This allows us to do things like ledge drop jump backwards AD, DI towards the stage, then DI back and regrab the ledge (chu does this one sometimes to bait attacks.), or jump at someone with your back to them just out of bair range, AD through them>dtilt. The best use IMO is that it makes up for our lack of a Breverse. Our backwards AD gives enough aerial control to let us completely switch directions much like Snake would with grenades or Mario with fireball.
Oh, cool tidbit as well, rising backwards AD can reach higher than a jump.

Our AD also has a weird property that let's us wavedash if we time it right on certain slopes. However, due to how short the distance is and how situational it is, I have yet to find a practical use for it.

@ Tiersie- >_> Who are you again? Actually I don't really care because you live in the Netherlands and I don't give a ****. I did say I'd consider myself #3 and then went ahead and put myself @ 1st because I decided to troll the Kirbies a bit and see who I could piss off. W/ that said, let me remind you that this is the Kirby General Discussion, our social thread, and anything Kirby related, be it Kirby mains' contributions or otherwise, is up for discussion.

@ Anyone who took the contribution list serious- You are all a bunch of idiots. Personal opinions of one person are just that, opinions. If I feel I've contributed the most recently to the Kirby metagame, well muthaduckers I'm completely entitled to my opinion and idc what you think about it or have to say about it whether I have or not contrinbuted that much.

@Cdog- >_>....but I love that quote when Harvey Dent uses it in the most The Dark Knight.

@ Fromundaman- Make a thread. Make a post. Start a discussion. Idc, just do something to get people talking about your ideas, which from the above post seems good, and quit complaining about no recognition. Or force recognition on people. You seem like a good guy so I don't wanna not like you D: Man up; affirmative action.

@TKO- OKT.

As for the write-up; I hype well, and Kirbies expect too much but what I have will be an interesting read if anything and I'm trying to keep it as techinical as possible. Don't expect it for a while but I'm a third of the way done.

I don't want to start an argument, but I have and did start threads/discussions up until my comp died. Do you know how frustrating it is to write walls of text on wiinet?

But yeah as I stated earlier, while it's an opinion, if you post something provocative, don't be surprised at the results.

I can turn that back at you as well after all. You help around the boards but what have you contributed to Kirby's metagame? Posting a lot != meaningful posts.

I like you, you are a cool guy, but you know, if you're going to call people out then I'll do the same.

BTW, if you look at the OP of the Q&A thread, you'll see I made contributions in all of the 'important threads' except T!mmy's guide, which is still probably the single most useful thread on our boards, so yeah props to T!mmy too.

I'm down to throw stones; though I don't understand why you'd want to.

If you want to know what I've contributed other than my posts in stage-discussion, Kirby video critique and the ask a Kirby question threads which for the most part where informative, all I ask is that you go to the match-up thread and click any link to any export other than Ike and Fox; go ahead and do that and notice the summary in the OP of any of those exports. I wrote those :D and while I do admit that a lot of it is summarizing, it's still time and effort that I've involved myself in to help the Kirby boards but I won't be humble about it, there's a good number of MUs that I knew a great deal about enough to throw posts detailing the MU into the discussion itself when it took place.

But as much as I don't like the guy, Tiersie is right, it was just a bunch of pointless babble [the contributions list] which I'm annoyed to say you, Fromundaman, got pretty butthurt about. Provocative? Yes. Response? There's been a lot and I've responded back always because that's just how I do. Troll? Y'all are the easiest.

And sure, props to T!mmy. If you wanted to know who has made the biggest, bestest, awesomest contribution? It'd be him, regardless of if he doesn't frequent Kirby enough, because he made the Kirby guide that is the foundation of the Kirby boards. But quite honestly who cares? Or at least it seems no one cares to discuss involvement in Kirby's metagame from Kirby mains.

I'm halfway done w/ my project and if I work straight through I can be done by midnight-ish maybe. Honestly I'm ready to scrap the whole thing though.

Lurking the Kirby Social thread with my rock buds.
1. JoWii
2. A1lion
I know it's opinion but sheesh, I'm behind A1
I'd put you after or with A1(who contributes to MU discussions and leads them when I need like he did w/ Ike and Fox)
JoWii, honestly, you flatter me. The things I think I've contributed over my life on the Kirby boards:

Ran NS thread (lol)
Ran crappy old MU thread
Got pretty knowledgeable on a few matchups when I still played frequently
Help out a bit on the sides with the new MU thread
Advocated for use of stone and FC
Looked into the ranges on Kirby's attacks, started compiling uair->footstool data

Honestly, that's all I feel like I've done for the Kirby metagame. But fromundaman? Dammit, I don't even want to try to list what he's done. Not only was he already here when I came (and thus I can't really figure out what he'd already done), but he contributes to MUs, does research with Kirby, reps him a bit...I really can't do justice to what he's done. I barely even consider myself a Brawl player...if I'm the #2 contributor on the boards, then that says something really sad about Kirby.

that list

I've never seen a1lion write about anything but himself
I do tend to rant about stuff quite a bit, but I've done a lot of MU stuff, along with some minor Kirby research.

-cough- A1 is behind the times; we already stopped arguing about taht -cough-

Kekeke, I have the last sections of my project in my head and am about to put it down in my computer. After that it's just a matter of time before I put it online w/ all it's pretty HTML stuff.

AND FOR THE MUTHA ****ING RECORD~!

When I put the contribution list up, it's was merely me trolling mixed w/ a bit of my frustrations attached. Since I've been here I've done my part, just as every Kirby who helps out does their's. Though at one point I did feel like no one was adding anything new to the boards (Kewkky remembers this frustration I exhibited rashly via PM) and I felt that if I put up something like the contributions list, I could incite action. Regardless of the way I went about it, my intentions were good ('Lawl, the road to hell is paved w/ good intentions') and I stand behind my posts. To all, except Tiersie, I apologize that you had to endure that but tbh it felt good stirring up the board. I do appreciate all the Kirb advancement that was done before me, and as well am appreciative of any additions that happen from here on out. I <3 mah Kirbies.

Edit *****es: I finished my project :D so I'ma make it pretty while I cut and paste it on the board.

It's been posted. >_> Personally, I feel like it's missing a lot of what I wanted to put in it but for the sake of speed I trimmed it down to a 'rough draft' that I felt was adequate. It's not finished but there's only a few sections I feel I want to elaborate on and add (like counters).

I contribute a lot to the Kirby world! I mean, look at me, I even made it into the backroom and am changing the opinions of people! That's some intense contributing there... :(

I never make threads, but hey, yarn is a type of thread so it's still epic.

that thread made me mad because you used inui vs chudat as your first example.

:(

you apparently counted the number of times Kirby used specific buttons, but you failed to mention how many times the MK used specific buttons (hint: he used dodge waaaaaaaay too much) compared to how many times MK uses buttons in matches he's winning.

I didn't fail to mention you fool; we're on the Kirby boards. Not the MK boards.

And the reason I used that specific match was because it was short, it was on SV, and it was Kirby/MK. Those were the criterion I had for the first example.

I'm not a fool >_> that match always sticks in my mind as one of the worst examples of "why Kirby can beat MK" because the MK clearly was doing it wrong. You need to look at it from both sides..

>_> Of course that's the worst example of MK known to man; what you're clearly missing though is the ONLY SINGLE REASON ANY VIDEO IS CITED is to watch Kirby. Imagine....we're safari wildlife experts and we want to know about Lions (read pink marshmallows). Would we view the lions in their natural habitat? Or the hyena that is irrelevant to the flippin' original thesis.

Only firetrucks and ambulances live in the safari. The ambulances have to wait their turn though.

Dang, now that I think about it, I wish Kirby could beat down people with his ladder in firetruck form like the one from Family Guy.

☯ Did you say ladder in firetruck form? Yes, I'm too addicted on Epic Yarn at the moment. XD

Ok..guys I realize the backroom may be dead but thats because we aren't doing anything to revive it.

and that also shouldn't be the reason I don't get an invite

I contribute here whenever anyone has a question..I'm one of the higher placing kirby's in a harder region (come on now I have chu in my region...hard act to follow and I still somehow many 9-13th in 30-50 man tourney's and 9-17th in regional-like tourneys, and 5th in teams with a FREAKIN Sonic...lol...we got 9th at SiiS3 though)

Not saying I am better than all of you guys or anything like that but I think I definitely have proven myself enough to atleast merit a backroom invite. then we can spurce that **** up and make it active again

☯ Only reason why the backroom is dead is that it's not much to discuss secretly. Of course some people that use to be active in match up threads and tournaments are no longer that's in the backroom is also one reason why it's dead.

>_> TKO, honestly if you want in the KBR, ask Kewkky. I give my recommendation at the very least. But...it's pointless? No one goes in to the KBR because the WHOLE KIRBY BOARDS ARE OUR BBR.

QFT. I'm pretty sure everything other char boards use their BRs for we just do on our board itself.

The KBR is really just an empty shed with a worn "cool kids club" sign on the front.

EDIT: TKO I might actually have a suggestion. I've been struggling with that for a while now and think I figured out a way (need to get to another tourny to properly test but it feels effective.
I host smashfests about twice a week but found that regardless how well I played in friendlies, I would fall apart when money was on the line. The solution? Instead of only practicing in friendlies, I now do MMs at every smashfest, especially against people I have a hard time beating. This, for me at least, is helping me make playing under pressure routine, and has also helped me get a greater sense of play-to-win. Just a suggestion, but it seems to be helping me a lot.

Warning: it has also probably made me one of the gayest and most frustrating Kirbies to play against. I have taken "play-to-win" to heart. Not saying I'm the most skilled, but I seem to frustrate my opponents.

BTW, Kirby's Dtaunt is amazing for this, especially when in the process of timing people out or after punishing frustration induced mistakes. I also Dtaunt after almost every kill now for precisely the reason most people don't.

I dunno what's the big deal with being in the Kirby BR or not. There's NOTHING there, no one talks there, everything we want to discuss we discuss out here, which IMO is much better than in private in more than one way. But oh well... Any other Kirby main feel like they belong in there? I'll add you. :ohwell:
