I'm going to be the cynic here and say the the leak may still be alive. Even if he was wrong about Chrom, he still predicted literally everyone else. Then there's the fact that there are Rhythm Heaven enemies is Smash Run. Still, this does bode well overall, though seriously? Four FE character while Dk still may only get two?

Eh, I say if it gets one thing wrong it's finished. So Gematsu is dead. Thank god.

Gematsu's has never been outright "wrong" before, so this basically calls it into question if not kills the remaining parts outright.

I'm still thinking Shulk and a Rhythm Heaven character are incredibly likely, but now we KNOW those aren't the ONLY likely newcomers.

Things are looking good for the King, and better for Ridley. Lets keep this train rolling!

I also think the leak is dead, but even if its not it at the very least is on shaky ground, and being on shaky ground means at the VERY LEAST there is almost a guarantee that there will be more newcomers than what the leak listed.

You guys do not know how happy I am that the Gematsu leak is dead. And how tempted I am to go over to the Shulk thread and rub it in their faces. Alas, I have etiquette.

As a big supporter for both Shulk and K. Rool (I am on both support lists if that matters to you), there's no need to even have these thoughts. People are allowed to want different characters, or more than one, you know? Besides, Shulk's chances haven't dwindled from this any. . . He's still a very likely candidate as far as I and most others are concerned. I admire you're "etiquette" in restraining from doing anything obnoxious, but I'm just saying none of that is needed (to everyone, not just yourself. I'm not mad or anything. Ha).

Now more importantly. . . Today's reveal was excellent. I for one was expecting and wanting Shulk, but the fact that Gematsu is now known as something to not be the gospel truth, we've a breath of life for characters such as King K. Rool, Mewtwo, etc. This leaves me very elated, and I look forward to seeing the re-invigorated K. Rool support from here until release (unless of course some drastic disconfirmation occurs, but I doubt it)! Looking forward to seeing the Kremling King in action!

Edit: I don't believe there is anything ambiguous happening with Chrom being playable, because he is not listed as an official character on the site, whilst being in Robin's photo's. I merely believe he is some part of Robin, or at best, an alt (though I've been wrong before, but still). And about Gematsu. . . At best, it's an incomplete leak, if not incorrect. The main point of today is that it is not final, and that's all that really matters (though to be clear, I don't believe that it is necessarily a wrong / fake leak).

Surprised we're getting 2 Fire embalm newcomers along with the veterans, but I don't think that it affects K.Rools chances too much, as Sak said, all characters have been pre-planned, so theirs not going to be fights from roster space like they had in Brawl. So stay strong my reptilian brothers, it's not over until the fat gorilla sings!

Oh, I want Shulk too, but his fans can be obnoxious at times about how the Gematsu leak is proof, so to see that leak crumble as evidence is rather satisfying. Now all the threads here are equal, without some dumb leak being a reason to act like one thread is above another.

He, isn't. Chrom is part of Robin's FS. (Also he isn't listed in the website update).

I haven't been so happy for a reveal in a while and I could give less of a crap about the characters shown.

Sal Romano is DEAD! He may as well have had Robin beat up a Mii of him.

Yes, it's terrible if there really is 4 Fire Emblem and little else, but I find that insanely unlikely with Sal Romano finally outright killed. 4 FE practically ensures 3 DK, and with how Lucina is handled it's very well possible Dixie could show up as a clone newcomer like Lucina in addition to K. Rool. I'll be optimistic for now and complain about it later if they're not in.

I'm not wholly convinced that the leak is dead, and think there's room to argue that "Shulk" was Robin all along, given their relatively similar appearances and that he was singled out as today's reveal. . .god, I'm so conditioned toward pessimism at this point.

That being said, HALLE-FRIGGIN'-LUJAH!! Looks like the #MonadoMonday fanatics out to "beat" us have to save their boasting for another day. And the odds of K. Rool getting in grow stronger by the day. I can easily see four DK characters now, after how Lucina was handled; for those in doubt, look at the site: she's a clone, not a costume.

Honestly though.
I am unsure if Lucina is an alt skin or not, it seems she could be (which is the best way a clone could be handled) but I think that four reps four Fire Emblem would be a good size if the roster were a bit over fifty.

This makes me happy, but it makes me happier for all of you,who must be euphoric, having been praying to Sal before.

That doesn't fully explain why Chrom was still apparently on track around E3. You'd think he'd know about Lucina and Robin at this point if his info was up to date.

With Sakurai's comment on trailer's running short, and with only 2 months until the release of the 3ds version I have a theory.

I know I said before that K Rool will be a secret character if he is in but I might be changing my tune.

As Staarih said a villian trailer/a villian themed direct in august seems VERY likely imo.

Ganondorf hasn't been revealed.
Wario(arguable) hasn't been revealed.
Wolf(if not cut) hasn't been revealed.

This, along with the possibility of K Rool / Ridley / Mewtwo, just has to be more than a coincidence.

A trailer with most if not all of these characters would be the most hype thing possible prior to release. I hate to get my hopes up, but I can dream.

Today is the day where Dixie and K. Rool fans should join together. Lucina is a clone and Robin is the unique newcomer. Dixie can be a clone and K. Rool can be a unique newcomer. Also gotta remember this was Fire Emblem who got this treatment, DKC is a ton bigger and surely warrants it. Sure, we're scrapping the bottom of the barrel with trailers, but a Dixie+K. Rool one would make sense to be one of them.

Point is that nobody has any reason to pit K. Rool vs Dixie anymore, I don't think they even had before either, but now we have proof that it's possible.

That response sounds like classic backpedaling tbh. Stating that Chrom is playable when he's part of a final smash is a pretty huge error.

The first leak was true, everything was fulfilled. This second leak? Palutena was the easiest guess of the century thanks to another leak but it could be that he actually knew it for sure. A Pokémon from X & Y was probably true too, we know that that's what Greninja was written down as early on. I can see Shulk being true too, he makes sense. However, Chrom was definitely either made up or was from extremely early development, and he certainly doesn't seem sure on Chorus Men either anymore.

Also, it seems he gathers his info from Namco Bandai since he says Nintendo is keeping secrets from them.

By the end of the day it's nothing but good news imo.

I'm cool with Lucina, I'm glad she got in. But other than his fighting style, I have very little interest in Robin. Mainly because I have no idea who he/she is. D:
