Could be Sakurai trying to throw us off. I mean, has a character reveal EVER been so predictable? That said my money's on Shulk as well. But I still think you're losing hope over nothing. We clearly have secret newcomers at this point.

The Gematsu leak just made me lose all hope, is all. And to be honest, it was the worst of all of them. At least the translator leak and a few others had Rool.

K. Rool wasn't in Melee except as a mere trophy. K. Rool has never been playable in Smash Bros.
The only thing close to what you're saying is Mewtwo. And Mewtwo wasn't OP in Melee, he was ****. No, seriously, he played like crap, not many people really liked Mewtwo in Melee (however, people did want Mewtwo to return, they just wanted him to be better).
The other choices are Dr. Mario, Pichu, Roy, and Young Link. None of them are OP, although Dr. Mario and Young Link are better than the characters they were cloned from. The other two were worse.

I lost hope temporarily. Sakurai's announcement, all the new Kremling hints we got and all the Ridley crap rekindled my hope. :D

Yeah I know, just thought I would have some fun. But in all honesty, as much as I love k rool and would love to see him playable in smash4. I don't see it happening, I can't really explain it, it's like a feeling in my gut. Maybe it's because of sakurai's mission to add females to the roster instead of villians. So if we do get another dk rep, I think it's dixie.
Well... I've said time and again I'm willing to wait as long as it takes to see K. Rool playable. Heck, he doesn't even need to be a regular. Just at least once is all I want. One and I'll treasure it forever.
I like Palutena, but the principle behind her inclusion rubs me the wrong way, and it mostly has to do with my love of Pikmin. Both Kid Icarus and Pikmin have the same number of games, and while the former is older its has been dead for over two decades until Uprising (unless you want to count Brawl). Pikmin, while younger, has been significantly more consistent and has become a Nintendo staple. But how are each represented in Smash 4 as of now?
It is. To be very honest, Sakurai only really cares for franchises he's worked on. I bet that if he ever did a DK game, the following Smash would be filled with DK stuff like what happened with KI...
I find it easy to believe it would be Shulk. Remember the fact that Greninja was revealed in the climax of the Smash Direct and he was far less requested than Shulk was.
Eh, in Palutena's defense, she was apparently one of the most requested characters in Japan.
Two (three?) Characters out of four on the a list have been comfirmed for smash besides k rool. K rool confirmed

Theoretically speaking, if Sakurai worked on Donkey Kong, rather than Kirby let's say, we would have had both Diddy Kong and King K. Rool in Brawl, Dixie Kong in this upcoming game, and the King Dedede support thread would be on their toes as we are now.

It's from a known fake leaker, so it ain't worth your time anyway.
Basically he showed a picture of what I assume was an old Nintendo Power magazine with all the DK64 characters (including K. Rool). All he said was expect something "big" tomorrow.
God, just imagine if Sakurai had worked on DK and Metroid instead of Kirby and KI.
Am I the only one who doesn't really understand why everyone seems to like this cartoon so much?

For me, it's really a "so bad it's good" kind of thing.
No one here TRULY loves the cartoon THAT much. Its more of a "its so bad its funny" thing. Basically, the entire thing is an inside joke. I myself LOVED the cartoon as a kid, but now I realized how lame it actually was. That said, we repeat it because its funny, and some of the songs work for King K. Rool, namely One of Us (for K. Rool supporters) and K. Rool's Finest Hour (for when K. Rool returns).

I think it's worth mentioning what appears to be a new development in the Gematsu leak saga: sal recently posted in the Shulk support thread that he got another e-mail saying "enjoy my good friend Shulk," or something along those lines. Assuming this is another real leak and not just an educated guess on the part of the leaker, it raises the question of why he is only leaking this information now. It would have been nice to know earlier that we'd be getting a sudden new character in the middle of July. This just further supports the idea that the leaker is either withholding information, or has incomplete information and is learning bits and pieces as he goes. Either way, it's a plus for characters like K. Rool that were not listed in the leak.
Strangely enough, I read that the cartoon got praise (I believe for its animation) when it was new. So I'm not really sure what to think about it.
