Does anybody want to buddy with me for doubles?

My resume:
I play the second worst character in the game.
I haven't played doubles for over half a year.
I have never placed in the money - expect to place last.

Benefits:
I can make Landon ragequit.

Any takers?

Teaming with newer players is great for friendlies, but when it comes down to it this is still a competition and we want to see which team has better skill and chemistry to triumph over the other in an epic showdown

Also when teams have really imbalanced skill levels, the lower skilled player usually sits out a lot since they tend to die sooner and it's not a good idea to have them take the stock if you really want to win. For friendlies though taking the stock is just whatever (unless they are seriouslies)

Well I suppose but it seems partnerships are very inconsistent. Let's face it... nobody is going to partner with newer players even for friendlies. Heck our veteran players don't even play ME and I consider myself a good enough player to give you guys trouble and even possibly win a game. I also think I can give MK players a scare even though the matchup is -3. I believe growth and retention is more important that some prize money especially now that singles pot has been significantly cut. Also, let's face it... Pikachu vs. Ice Climbers is far from epic. Anything Pikachu can do, Peach can do better :peach:<3

Now leading off from that to what I actually wanted to say... I think this community may be better off continuing this thread on Facebook and maybe Twitter. It just seems more accessible to potential newcomers and it's on a platform that more people use (save me, haha). Twitter can inform all followers about upcoming events which is good for people who don't remember to check this thread frequently or can't be bothered although the trouble with this is actually getting everybody to follow Twitter. Thoughts?

cool it plz

I post links to the Facebook tournament pages, and try to post about smashfests, but it's hard when almost none of the community posts there, and we can't commit to regular smashfests in the first place. Twitter might be a thing, but I don't see how any of the problems we're having with Facebook will be alleviated (that and I have no idea how to actually use Twitter)

Edit: Regarding doubles, I was thinking of making it $5 per team (as opposed to $5 per person), but I feel like $2.50 each would be annoying for people because then you have to deal with quarters and stuff. Am I right to think like this? How would people feel about $5 per team? I do like the idea of a doubles event where our top players team with new players, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. I know some people do take doubles seriously, and might not like seeing the standard doubles event disappear for a monthly, but running two doubles events in one tournament seems like it would be redundant.
