Kevin that looks like a really sick deal. Which game would you recommend? I've never played like any PC games ever but there are a bunch there that I've heard of.

Lol sorry I'm as much in the dark as you are. I just wanted to share this with everybody :)

From what I can see, people are downloading Mass Effect 2, Spore, and Sim City 4. They are also creating multiple accounts to download more than one game.

Landon is so good at P:M... it almost makes me want to practise!

Also, the whole world (the 70 or so people on stream) knows what Landon's sister looks like now.

Awesome job Bryan! How did you place?

Just in case... I will definitely talk to the Stronghold staff if I see any Brawl players doing drugs (or have reason to believe so). It is illegal to do drugs (including marijuana) and doing so can affect your criminal record. I am not going to mention drugs in this thread anymore. Like I said, I will directly talk to the venue staff/owner next time.

I think we need a rule regarding drugs.

Aleate, I understand your concerns and I agree with you, but doing something like that would just create a ton of drama and unnecessary conflict and I don't think anyone wants to deal with it. We stand in a pretty good place as it is as a community and I don't want to ruin that. Besides, there's barely anyone who does that kind of thing so it really isn't a big deal, to be honest. It doesn't affect anyone negatively so I don't see the reason to go through hell and back for something so arbitrary. Anyone who infringes the law does so at their own risk- there's no need to enforce it or call the cops on anyone. Let's all try to get along.

Again, I know you have some good intentions, but it honestly isn't worth the trouble to stir up controversy in our community. Let's keep things cool between everyone- especially since there's a huge tournament on the 27th that people are looking forward to.

edit:
Yeah, sniper. I'm going to be streaming every Saturday from now on, so you can always expect an awesome smashfest :)

This has nothing about getting along with others. It's being responsible especially when our relationship with the venue seems to be shaky. I personally do not feel safe being around those that are high and do drugs.

I can think of at least five people that do drugs.

I realize most of BC Brawl are very passive and don't voice out their thoughts but I am not like that. If there's trouble, I'm going to talk about it. I mean I main Peach in Brawl, Melee, and P:M. I'm obviously BC's *****.

Then you really haven't been around the right people. If you thought being kissed all over your face was bad...

I just got a PM from somebody who is actually avoiding smashfests and possibly future tournaments because of the drug use.

Something to keep in mind.

Something needs to be done when people feel uneasy and avoid smashfests and don't feel safe attending events.

I feel pretty safe, and if anyone is going to provoke anybody into doing something it's me.

With that said so much Dedede today, barely played ICs. A lot better for my sanity.

While some of you may feel safe at Stronghold, there are those that don't feel safe and have had prior bad experiences related with drugs.

Some drug banned events:

To answer your question Caiden, a member of BC Brawl did do drugs and that action was glorified over the stream tonight. Disgusting.

I did not glorify anything. It very much offends me that you would take the decisions of others and put the blame on myself, my stream, and the hard work I do to provide entertainment and PM coverage to the general masses.

If you have an issue with the drug use, bring it up directly to the venue themselves; don't start drama in here. It isn't healthy for the community and poisons the reputation of others. Stronghold is very much aware of the usage of substances in their venue and have not been actively against it or voiced any concern to the community at all. Do not blame the community for their lifestyle choices. People do drugs; get over it. The main problem lies in where and when it's appropriate.

At tournaments, NO ONE uses drugs and everyone is very clear that these events are professionally run and the usage of substances is discouraged. However, smashfests are an environment where people just like to chill out, have fun, and relax at the end of the week with some smash. No one is being paid to play/ host these events so generally the rules are much more slack. Again, do not blame the community for what they do- Bring it up to the staff and dispute it with them. Obviously, they don't care if the environment is not "kid-friendly" so it is a problem with their system and how they enforce their rules; It is NOT to be blamed on anyone in particular or anyone in the community.

A majority of people who regularly attend smashfests are fine with the environment and have fun. Don't make a big deal out of it to us. No one is going to change their habits/ lifestyle choices just because one or two players are uncomfortable with it. Ultimately, the decision is up to the venue.

Kevin, you need to understand that the filthy usage is nothing to be worried about, if anything you should strive to be around those peeps cause they hella relaxed. Like Dazrin said, in tourney none of that is done until the end and its not like we've done anything bad while using it. The worse that came out of it was some love (landon<3) and there is nothing wrong with that as long as he was cool with it and he was. This whole "feeling safe thing" is starting to get out of hand and you sound more like you're doing it because you have an inherent thing against the activity, not because it's actually bothering you. I am real close with the staff and they are ALL cool with it, it fact some even help me out (if you know what I mean). You need to step off before you do something stupid. There is no need for concern and for whoever it was that messaged you, come talk to some of us who are actually involved because Kevin is just sitting in the corner complaining and not activity part of the situation. Maybe we could work something out to make you feel a bit more comfortable. Sorry for all the trouble but I don't need to change what I do for other peoples sake since the people that are around me are the people I like and I am fine with the way things are.

also yeah the coupon code expired, no alice for yakal qq

edit: btw yeah I agree with being discrete which I never am, not intentional I just don't have the most clear thoughts during those times so a friendly reminder (tap on the shoulder or something) would be cool

lmao
regardless of all that I still like you kev so dont get the wrong idea and its kinda lame hearing you say all that stuff. We aren't bad people.

I initially refused to play a loser's final match vs Landon because drugs were at the livestream tv. I refused to play at that tv until the smell went away. I will continue to refuse to do so if it happens again, and if it becomes consistent, will not even show up.

And no, I am not the one that Kev talked to.

But yeah, I vote no drugs in venue, or at least not where people will be.

Not involved in this discussion but I don't really condone the useage of any drug at all as well as alcohol for ethical reasons. But if someone really feels compelled to do it at the venue then my only advice would be to do it away from the venue (I hate the smell of weed :I). That's really all I can offer in this little discussion. I know I've only been there like twice but just my two cents.

Also, where was the Smashfest/stream link?

The most and best content from yesterday is here though; http://www.twitch.tv/dazee_/b/335494552

ps me and landon ****

As far as the whole drug thing goes I don't have much to say, just be respectful if you choose to do them and conscious about who you're around. We're all one big family here in BC :reverse:
